  1. Unbelievable. Does Ignatieff live in the same virtual world as does Obama? A fictional world of one’s own authorship?
How could a campaign based on a reduction of taxes, a reduction of wasteful spending and attention to local needs, be construed as anti-Harper??
It’s like Obama saying that a GOP takeover of Congress would mean that the GOP would have to ‘listen to him’ and sit at ‘the back of the bus’.
How could Layton claim that Ford was campaigning as an outsider? Ford has been a member of the City Hall Council for 10 years! He was an ‘insider’? Smitherman was an outsider – coming from the provincial Liberal govt, and with a legacy of massive overspending under his watch. Rocco was an outsider, coming from the Liberal domain in Winnipeg. The other insider was Pantalone, who was like Ford, on City Council but was a close ally of Miller.
As for Ignatieff talking about the G-20 waste, heh, could we talk about the Sponsorship scam, the Gun Registry Waste, the bilingual waste, the arts and film grants waste and so on?

  2. Did Iggy miss the fact a right wing mayor was elected in Toronto?
I he sees this as good news for the Liberals he is even dumber than I had thought.

  3. If anyone should listen up & take notice its McGuinty!
Toronto contains the majority of ridings in the ontario legislature & who holds those? McGuinty’s Liberals.
Just kills me when the channel has been changed how the left looks to anyone & everyone for the exuse & blame.

  4. Yeah, clear warning to Harper from the Toronto Red Star. They’re totally on your side Steve. As if.
Actual lessons for the CPC courtesy of Rob Ford.
    1) You aren’t going to win City of Toronto, so forget it. Give it to Layton on a plate, let him handle the retards. They deserve each other.
    2) Conservatism WORKS. Unless you go Liberal Lite, you can’t possibly lose everything outside City of Toronto. That’s a majority for you right there.
    3) Attacking the media works. Ignoring the media works too. Playing to the media does -not- work. They are not your friends, they hate you, they will lie and cheat and steal to make you lose.
    4) TAX CUTS WORK. People want to keep the money they earn, and they want the government out of their face soonest. Conservatives pushing conservatism, the time has come dudes.

  5. Ahh, seems even in Canada the left doesn’t want to admit the citizens are getting fedup with Gov’t spending.

  6. It turns out we were right … re Michael Savage’s claim that Liberalism is a mental disorder.
    Here is some PROOF
And … in the immortal words of that walking mental disorder Jean the Cretin … “a proof is a proof and when you have a proof, dats a proof.”

  7. That’s right Iggy. Ya know what else? The conservatives need to ditch Harper and find a homosexual that goes to work in diapers and considers the rectum a sex organ.
Sheesh – I thought Dion was an idiot. Where do all these liberal snot pickers come from?

  8. I’d say this Ford victory is a clear warning to the Ontario PC party. Ditch the “progressive” part, start raising all kinds of hell on the Conservative part, or y’all ain’t winning nuthin’.

  9. Iffy belongs in the stinky cheese section.
Iffy is like HopeyChangey, he picks up the latest jingoisms and runs into the wall with them. Now Iffy wants to stop the “gravy train”. That’s fine but he wants to start a race to the right by introducing National Day Care run by his pals in CUPE. That’s like Obama saying: ‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us.’ ”
Obama wants to “punish” the 56% of Americans who don’t support him and Iffy wants to increase Canada’s economic prospects by creating more entitlements run by government unions.
What is wrong with these Harvard guys? We tried one of them with Trudeau, isn’t that enough?

  10. Gus, right you are.
The Ford victory should be a warning to McGuinty and other social engineering progressives.

  11. I hope what Iggy means is PM Harper should start acting more like a conservative and less like a Lib or Lib in a hurry NDPer or he will be thrown out like the Lib style ex mayor and his wanna be successor did.

  12. Does Iggy use the same style consultant as Dion? If so, who are they related to? These guys need a mom not a country.

  13. The warning is to all of them … Treat Voters Like Adults and you will win. First party to do so, will be the next majority. Stephen better get the memo before somebody clues in Iggy. Neither has any personality, so the first to get hit with the clue bat just may make to the top.
… or have they both destroyed their brand so bad that new blood is needed all around?

  14. OMG, Not since high school have I felt so helpless ,.must… ug,….resist… he’s just begging “Please give me a nuclear hanging wedgy from a coat hook”
    Let me guess, American Cheddar.

  15. “…Treat Voters Like Adults and you will win. First party to do so, will be the next majority…”
Liberals -small l there- are incapable of talking to We the People as adults. Fundamental to their secular theology is the belief that We the People are dumb, emotional children, needing “guidance” from the “enlightened” liberals.

  16. Earth to Planet Iggy! Earth to Planet Iggy! Your signal is coming in on the ridiculous scale, please re-send. Or not.

  17. Okay, now THAT was funny! What was it Iggy used to teach in university again, abnormal psych?

  18. “New Democratic Party leader Jack Layton, who sat on Toronto council for many years before entering politics” – Ummm, I thought council WAS politics. If this is the standard of intellect from the Red Star then I’m glad I don’t buy their paper or visit their website except by links like this. As for Iggy’s “This is a warning” nonsense, it’s just his usual groping for an issue.

  19. Well just what kind of wisdom and insight do you expect from MIA? (Michael Ignatieff Absent) He hasn’t been in the country, parliament or his riding for so long he hasn’t realized that Canada has moved on from PET. Why he even believes the two laws of MSM coverage of Canadian politics are still in effect.
Law 1: The Liberals are always right.
Law 2: When the Liberals are wrong refer to Law 1.
I guess MIA doesn’t know that PMSH has repealed those laws and Ford showed the MSM just how effective its messaging really is.

  20. Cheesy fella at the cheese counter seems to be suffering from some sort of blocked off thought process. What the hell is he talking about?
The Ford win is the exact opposite, it’s a take note time for the Liberal/Left who were out in full force supporting Diaper Boy Smitherman. Hell he even had Justin of Trudeau from the province of Quebec who wouldn’t know squat about Ontario municipal politics.
Nothing worked for him, in the end, he met his end in politics. Watch for McGuinty to create a job for the poor fella, he and his husband have a kid to raise, he’ll need employment. Maybe Iggy has something to offer him as well, the federal Liberals were all so keen to have him elected.
seriously, someone should check on the mental state of Iggy, he seems to have thing ass backwards.

  21. Don Martin: Liberal senator shreds Ignatieff’s position on F-35s
    Don Martin Oct29/2010
When purchasing military equipment, an open, transparent, competitive bidding process is the best way to obtain value for money. Except when it isn’t. And when it comes to updating Canada’s aging fleet of CF-18 fighter jets, it surely isn’t,” Sen. Colin Kenny says.

  22. “who tucks their dress shirt -inside- their underwear?”
    Robin, the Boy Wonder?
p.s. BTJ is leaving troll droppings on the Juxtaposition KFC thread

  23. good eye phantom….
imagine though….skid marks on your shirt tail….
    how disgusting is that?

  24. The message to PMSH is to ‘play hard ball’ and fight your battles in the open.
Many have noted that it will be very difficult to accomplish small ‘c’ conservative goals alone for Mayor Ford. Instead of trimming a little fat here, and a little fat there(under the radar), conservative politicians must make bold cuts that draw the attention and the ire of the media and their political opponents; like Sarkozy has in France. By being bold, you take the fight to the public, and take the power from the bureaucrats and the unions. It’s the majority support of the French citizens that gives Sarkozy the strength to fight his political foes, and so too it will be with Mayor Ford.
IMO the time is now! The time is now for the federal Conservatives to be bold, and separate themselves from the Progressives.
Kate alluded to this with the Eminem/B-Rabbit post; it’s time for PMSH to finally unleash the ‘Hidden Agenda’.

  25. Phantom @3:28 – “Question, who tucks their dress shirt -inside- their underwear?”
    Answer: NERDS!
A commenter here wrote quite a while back that she suspected Iggy didn’t really want to be the head of the Liberal Party. I think the above kind of statement sort of backs that up: It’s like he’s trying to be too lame to succeed.

  26. Phantom @3:28 – “Question, who tucks their dress shirt -inside- their underwear?”
Imagine all those people in the LPC who want to ride to power on Iggie’s shirt tails.
    Heh.

  27. So the Opposition leaders think that we elected Ford because Torontonians were simply “in a grumpy mood”.
That’s right you arrogant mindless a**holes, “the peasants are complaining, throw the beggars some crumbs”.
The Iggynoramus needs to thank his lucky stars that Ford was elected, because it was reaching the boiling point. Personally, I’d love to see fascist “progressive” politicians like Iggy and Jack lynched upside down in the town square by the local peasants like Mussolini was.
And it wouldn’t be the first time in Iggy’s family history — whose fascist Csarist forefathers were responsible for that terrible oppression in Russia that led to so much killing and social unrest. Iggy’s ancestors ended up supporting both kinds of tyrants: the Fascists and anti-semites, as well as the brutal Communists.
And of course that goes for Jack too — the Canadian precursors of the NDP supported the Nazis in WWII – until the Soviets directed their Canadian counterparts to do otherwise and support the Commies instead.
Don’t be a smart ass with “the peasants” Iggy and Jack, your time may come yet.
As Vladimir Lenin once said: “The footsteps of the executioner are echoing in the hallway”.

  28. I’d say this Ford victory is a clear warning to the Ontario PC party. Ditch the “progressive” part, start raising all kinds of hell on the Conservative part, or y’all ain’t winning nuthin’.

Hudak is lost out there. Pathetic.
Maybe this will give him a clue. Ontario is in a worse debt position than Toronto.

  29. Ever think that Chris Chritie the governor of New Jersy and Rob Ford have very similar styles and messages.Mike the forward deep thinker of the political elite class has maybe noticed that one of the liberal bastions of voters have come to question liberal arrogance and their grand pillaging of taxpayers.

  30. *
hey, lets get crazy & try a little experiment…
“Conservative leader Stephen Harper sees the Nenshi victory
as a clear warning to Ignatieff.”

    nope, go figure… it’s still gobble-de-gook.

  32. Apparently pre-amalgamation Toronto or rather the area served by the TTC and subways…voted for slitherman…..the rest voted for Ford.
IOW those who exploit subsidized mass transit and believe the world starts at Oakville and ends at Ajax and peters out somewhere about New Market, are employed by government directly or indirectly.
In related news, the judge discharged Mr. Chen, the merchant who did a citizen’s arrest on a thief and was promptly busted, by the cops and Crown, for assault and unlawful confinement….meanwhile the perp got a wrist slap in return for testifying against Chen.

  33. Iggy there’s still time to pick up a few courses to teach at Harvard for Winter Semester 2011….

  34. The Sentinel got him right in the cross-hairs. Hes a nerd!
Make that a double down geek.
    JMO

  35. “Question, who tucks their dress shirt -inside- their underwear?”
He might have dressed himself that day instead of letting his handlers do it. I think Kinsella used to do the underwear check for Chretien and Copps.

  36. What? Geez, Iggy is a real A-hole. Does Iggy not have any political instincts at all? Perhaps Iggy’s Quebec made cowboy boots are restricting the flow of blood to his head. What a delusional dumb ass!

  37. Hopefully he picks out some nice binding sharp cheese or he may ruin that nice shirt.
Bugs said it best- what a maroon!

  38. I laugh every time the Libs kick the G20 dead horse-
If you look into the 1.3 Bil number they spout you will find that they think the yearly salary of every person involved in the event adds to the cost.
More fun with numbers from people who think we’re too stupid to notice.

  39. Abe,
First, the article, as well as the quoted study, seems fundamentally confused as to what liberalism and Liberalism actually stands for.
“liberalism” = individual rights, limited government, freedom, free enterprise, capitalism, tolerance, democracy, separation of state & church, respects differences of opinion while being very clear about superior & universal values
“Liberalism” = elitism, big government, whatever-gets-us-power-policies, nanny state, fascism-lite (collusion between big business, big government, big unions, but without overt violence), multi-kulti relativism
Second, “novelty seeking behavior” is nothing that characterizes a Liberal (nor any Statist for that matter), but quite possible a liberal, who is very typically a curious and interested person.

  40. You freezer dwellers should say a prayer of gratitude daily for the fact that such a jackass is leading your Left.
