  2. Received this email today, it made me smile.
    “Wonder why nobody thought of this before? Pure genius!
    Here’s a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports:
    All we need to do is develop a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have hidden on or in your body.
    The explosion will be contained within the sealed booth.
    This would be a win-win for everyone. There would be none of this crap about racial profiling and the device would eliminate long and expensive trials.
    This is so simple that it’s brilliant. I can see it now: you’re in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion.
    Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, “Attention standby passengers, we now have a seat available on flight number… ”

  6. Thanks for the George Jones song “White Lightening”. This reminds me of the home made beer a friend and I borrowed from the father of one of our girlfriend’s father in 1960. I say borrowed, as within a short time it was spread over the back yard. I still remember the horrid taste.
    Great idea anne, but I don’t think Mr. Iffy and Taliban Jack would go for it.
    That was a great article by Melanie Philips. Is the realization of the danger to western civilization starting to sink in. There most likely will be much bloodshed before the smoke clears in the future.

  7. Globe and Mail, Tuesday. Short item: Barack Obama will appear on the TV show Mythbusters. (I found a link to a longish article in the Montreal Gazette)

    This was the second choice item. Apparently the myth that Ohbummer was born in Kenya proved too undebunkable …

    I thought Cameron’s election talk was just that, but it appears I was wrong.
    Hopefully PM Harper decides to make similar fiscal and government management changes. Don’t hold your breath that Mr. Iffy will support it though.

    Good song! My uncle was an alcoholic, he made his own moonshine. One time I went over to visit him, he poured me a glass about 4 oz. One led to two, After 2 glasses, I went to get up and I spilled it on the kitchen floor. It took the shiny coating off the linoleum. My aunt wasn’t happy. I think it took him 2 years before he replaced the lino. . He died at 85 from lung failure, but he did smoke “roll your owns” using Export A tobacco until he was 74.
