In Saudi Arabia, they take this whole “there is no god but Allah” thing really seriously:
Twelve Filipinos and a Catholic priest have been released on bail in Riyadh after being arrested at a rest house in the city’s Rawdah district last Friday. The arrests followed a raid by members of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice on the premises, where 150 expatriates were said to have attended a Catholic mass.
A source told Arab News that only the priest and the 12 Filipinos were arrested for allegedly being the organizers and leaders of the group while the others were let go because they could not all be accommodated at the police station.
“They were charged with proselytizing,” confirmed Ezzedin H. Tago, chargé d’affaires at the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh.

Funny how “Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice” sounds similar to “l’Office québécois de la langue française”.
i say we start doing to them in our country what they do to us in there’s is that so unfair ?
Seriously if they see us acting the way they are maybe they will see how stupid they look when they do this crap to people.
This is just crazy ,unfair ,and just uterly frustrating why dosn’t out countries acknowledge this type of action ?
yet at the drop of ah at they will ring the five alrm bells when the catholic church is underscutiny for harbouring childmolesters.
You must be very careful of those Catholics; very dangerous indeed. And if the Filipinos start running off to Mass, who is expected to do all the dirty work in the homes of useless Arabs?
Haven’t been to Catholic Church since I was a kid, so I’m afraid I’m out of the loop now. When are the scheduled worldwide Catholic riots?
Yeah sure whatever, but Stephen Harper is a NAZI!!!

They don’t keep it a secret that Christianity and any other religion won’t be tolerated in their country. People shouldn’t be surprised at this.

Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has a lovely ring to it.

Gay Saudi prince ‘murdered servant in ferocious attack’
A grandson of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia murdered his manservant in a top London hotel, strangling him during a sexually motivated assault, a court heard yesterday.
Wondered if that made the headlines in the Saudi newspapers.
For ‘new’, in case she’s reading this and wants to give another lecture: All the gossip and a beating caught on a hotel security video camera can be seen here:

So allah is really powerful, right? But most of his people live in third world misery. Oh, and anybody who preaches anything else must be stopped lest the mighty word of allah be drowned out and diminished. Yeah. allah akbar. For sure.
Truly, a religion for fearful, insecure losers who enjoy subjugation and misery as long as they can blow other people up about it.
I’m assuming multiculturalism is not government policy in Saudi Arabi.
Mind you, they still supply us with more ethical oil than our tar sands, somehow.
I just arrived home from our local Superstore, where I was disturbed to see the first instance of a woman in full burka, with only her eyes providing any semblance of individuality.
We’re in a small town of 84,000 people, so the contrast between this woman and the rest of us was both striking and disturbing.
I’m ashamed of myself for not having the courage to say to her that while I have no feeling towards her as a human being – after all, I cannot make even the weakest of connection with her as a person – but that the wearing of an emblem of subjugation and inferiority of gender is just not Canadian.
I’m certainly thinking about either a commentary article or a letter to the editor of our local paper, but I know that here on the left coast, I’ll certainly be opening myself up to attack by many in the community. But it needs to be said and said early: we have come to far at too high a price in our society, to abandon the values that give our daughters the opportunities and rights that are today their birthright.
No Guff. How do you know it was a woman? Could be a male pervert who wants easy access to women’s washrooms. Who is going to challenge “it”.

A friend who worked in Saudi Arabia told me even Masses said in private homes are illegal. Christmas celebrations, too.
Remind me again why this whackpot country is considered an ally.
Shut down the filthy polluting planet-roasting oil sands so we can buy all of our oil from these wonderful warm human beings.
Yet it’s the Americans who need the lesson on religious tolerance, right? I mean, the furor over the Ground Zero mosque and the Florida pastor sure painted that picture.
I should clarify, the furor from the Left over the opposition to the mosque and the Left’s indignation over an obscure nobody pastor merely threatening to burn a Koran. That was tantamount to getting the gas chambers and ovens online, apparently. But very real bigotry and intolerance is glossed over by an obsequious Western elite.
Interesting,
my priest, father Rex is a Philippine (don’t blame me MS Word says so) by origin, did not mention anything of this today. Then again he is not a politician. No doubt he is up to the current as far as the news goes. As it is, when one becomes a priest, that’s what he is, no nationality, just servant of the Almighty and the people.
Nice god you got there, guys. A jealous, miserable, murderous ass prone to hysteria. There is no god but Marvin the Martian and Muhammad is his messenger. Marvin Akbar.
There are now more people becoming Christians every day (200,000) and it is now outnumbering the live births.
There are approximately 30,000 Muslims coming to Christ each and every day. That is almost 1 million per month. The Muslim population is actually shrinking, so it will be only a matter of time that they will really feel the heat and start to up the ante here in the West, because they are losing some much ground back in their countries of birth / ancestry.
Be patient and show them the “Light” here, just like back home!!!
I was disturbed to see the first instance of a woman in full burka
Just smile and say “Happy Halloween”
The morals police in Saudi Arabia remind me of our various HRC across Canada, one emposes a strick religious code and the other enforces a strict progressive liberal doctorine policed by the state.
I’m here in Riyadh – one of the 12 Filipinos is an employee for a American/Saudi company that I work for here in the kingdom. He’s back at work, but is waiting for the Ha’ia (Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice) to decide if he stays in the Kingdom, goes to jail or is deported back home.
Apostasy is punishable by death here (death sentences are usually carried out by the sword). About the only places to hold “religious” services are on the foreign compounds, but the services are called “friendship meetings” to avoid trouble from the Ha’ia.
BTW – there have been problems here lately with men dressing up in burkas and “hanging with the ladies”…usually Yemenis with “criminal issues” are the culprits.
As I have declared here in the past, I firmly support the Quebecois agenda of “protecting their language and culture”….for just this reason…
We in ROC haven’t and look what we have….
Remember that Quebec town which banned the BURKA…
VIVA LA QUEBEC, VIVA LA QUEBEC LIBRE!!!
Recently US forces in Astan—near the Pakistan border engaged jihadi infiltrating across the border. The jihadi’s initially stood and fought but disengaged when ISAF air assets arrived. One Apache intercepted some of these people doning BURKA’s……gunships take no prisoners…..
O’koraned: It’s in the book.
