Prominent members of Ottawa’s Muslim community will meet with a team that specializes in defusing police-community tensions to allay fears and explain why the RCMP arrested two men suspected of planning a terrorist attack on Canada.

why they arrested someone for terrorist activity?
Can we expect our police to call a meeting with representatives from the drug dealer community to explain why they arrested a dealer? Or, how about a meeting with rioters next time they riot so it may or may not ease something called “tensions”? Perhaps open a dialogue of trust with punks who love to riot?
Why are our elected leaders allowing this behaviour to continue? Police are for law enforcemnt not placating ethnic voters. If someone wants to know the facts let them sit through the trial.

These meetings between COMPAC and Muslim organizations don’t seem to be a bad idea at all. If the police are meeting with leaders of an immigrant community that is likely to increase communication between the police and community members.

I think it is a good move. It ‘normalizes’ police to the people and does build bridges. They should not HAVE to explain, they should WANT to have support in the communities that may harbour the risk. What a facile argument it is posit that not all Muslims are terrorists, ect. Any rational person would conclude that. To make such an argument serves only to deflect the issue at hand. Name any terrorist act in modern times and there will be a Muslim behind it. Either state the obvious and deal with the problem or live under a whip.

What the hell kind of headline is this? What does it mean? Whoever wrote it shouldn’t be working for a news agency because they don’t know the English language and can’t write it.

Why do these guys think they should be immune from suspicion? Freedom of religion doesn’t exempt one’s faith community from justified curiosity and, perhaps, some opprobrium, if members of the community have been caught in illegal activities — especially when it involves terrorism.

I’ve moved past being enraged to wanting to organize an anti-Jihadism movement. If someone were to organize a “Canadian Defense League” similar to the English Defense League, I’d be willing to commit money to such a movement. Many others would too.
We need to start protesting at radical mosques in Canada in order to challenge this evil in our Country.
