  1. Santa’s not coming to Toronto…terribly distressing. Maybe they will have too much snow next December. I’m putting my order in now…
I’m not sure if we should accept the apocalyptism of AGW or that of Ahmadinejad. Better yet neither!
The world is ending, the sky is falling, the earth is warming one way or another, run for your lives…
Harum scarum usually belongs in the theatre with some whacked out horror flick like “Inconvenient Lies” which promote ever greater assaults on the public treasury.
Just another “Shakedown” hustle so the pols can say they came and ‘saved’ you. Sorry no sale.

  2. I have read only one other piece of crap that uses more weasel words like could, may, can be expected, etc.and that was The Zero’s Health Care Plan.Gawd.When did the earth become populated with so may idiotic, dumbed down sheeple?

  3. “Toronto’s not on it.”
Aw, but Chicago is. Go Figure. (No doubt that was meant to solidify The One’s commitment to the cause.) I was so hoping for Quebec City, too.

  4. “I checked the list twice. Nope – Toronto’s not on it.”

    Pity.

  5. Just wait ’til they see my list of places that “could” be “radically” affected “if” the earth gets hit by a “significant” asteroid — like that gas station along hwy 829 that short changed me on my slurpie purchase, or the house of that guy down the road whose dog keeps running out to nip at my heels when I’m cycling by or Jack Layton’s riding office and the entire block surrounding it or . . . well you get the idea.

  6. Didn’t see CNN HQ or Al Gore’s residence either.
    Double pity.
How high would the waters have to rise to flood out CBC HQ and or Dr. Fruit Fly’s house(s) ?

  7. NOOOOO not Paris….You said we would always have Paris!
The entire Territory of Nunavut! It was so young, it had a long life ahead of it!!! The horror!

  8. Illiquid Assets:
Yes Paris is on the list, so is Manhattan, New York but not Berlin!!
So now the Leonard Cohen song will go:
First we leave Manhattan, then we move to BERLIN!

  9. #8 on the list for the Americas touches on the poor polar bears. This item discloses the previous unknown fact that polar bears hibernate in the summer. That is likely the best time to toe tag and count them.

  10. #18 in the Americas, the Panama Canal: “Raising and lowering ships between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, which differ by 85 feet in elevation, requires vast amounts of increasingly scarce fresh water.”
    Huh???

  11. #18
    yes double huh?
although the oceans at the isthmus of Panama are not at the same sealevel its not 85 ft.
and the fresh water comes from rainfall stored in the reservoirs built especially for this problem. and its rainfall in a rainforest, lots
I dont believe polar bears do hibernate. especially in food season , summer.

  12. I am disapointed Toronto lost out,,,,,maybe next time on places that will disappear……

  13. The difference in mean sea level across the isthmus is about 20cm I think, so they’re only off by a factor of a little over 100.
I wonder how Chicago is supposed to flood? I thought Global Warming was emptying the Great Lakes…

  14. “although the oceans at the isthmus of Panama are not at the same sealevel its not 85 ft. ”
Unless of course we are in for 85′ tides.
    That must be it./s

  15. PabloNH, it’s simple. The rising sea waters will cause the St. Lawrence river to flow backwards, scale the Niagara Falls, raise the level of the Great Lakes, swamp the plains and empty into the Mississippi River. All those glaciers in the Rockies will melt and some of the deluge will also make it’s way into the Mississippi. This will wipe out all the cities along the river and wash New Orleans out into the Gulf of Mexico. You heard it here first! Prepare now.

The politically correct will be saved, so don’t count on it.

  17. Actually it seems the twit that penned that article has such a shallow understanding of things in general that they confused the total lift to the highest point of the Panama Canal.
It is safe to assume such a dearth of knowledge and basic understanding with the myriad other “facts” this clown refers to.
The nonexistant, predicted sea level rise would lessen the necessary lift.

  18. Get the MSM inside dope here*.
    …-
“Protestors prompt McGuinty to cancel Earth Day ceremony
    Toronto Sun – Randy Richmond – ‎1 hour ago‎
LONDON, Ont. – Protesting pharmacists argued with Health Minister Deb Matthews and prompted Premier Dalton McGuinty to cancel an outdoor Earth Day ceremony in London Thursday.”

  19. Louise – lol – and the wave will sweep across Hudson Bay, destroying the Polar Bears’ habitat.

  20. Could, may and expected in just about every description.
Well then: I could, may and expect to win the 6/49. There, retirement taken care of.

  21. Publications so awful …. they won’t even be read in the Dentist’s office.
They are the stupidest people on the planet.

  22. Toronto’s not on the list because it was destroyed back in 1979. I was there and watched it happen.
What exists in that location now is a festering cancer which consumed all that went before in ten short years.
Dalton McGuinty presently labors mightily to remake the rest of Ontario in Toronto’s cancerous image. His greatest sucess to date is Caledonia.
Remember that on election day kids.

  23. I’ve just returned from a cruise through the Panama canal. The existing locks use about 56% of the water resource of Panama. They would like to use more for electricity generation, it’s in the 20% range right now. New locks are under construction where the lock water will get reused, filling a lock while a parallel one is being emptied. Now the water does empty directly “downstream” and hence into the oceans.

  24. There are more conservative voters in the Toronto area than there are people in Saskatchewan.
Thanks as usual for the love, Saskatwatchewan.

  25. I can’t wait to see T’s take on this. Which form of moonbattery will win out? Tough to say, it’s kinda like a car crash, you just can’t help but to look.

  26. aw: “Some people are making good money on this fear mongering.”
Oddly enough, I got a letter from BCAA (where I have my house insurance) last week. They invited me to take advantage of additional insurance for water damage to my house … because of climate change.

  27. DrD , I’ll be careful to not short change you in the future! Just wait ’til they see my list of places that “could” be “radically” affected “if” the earth gets hit by a “significant” asteroid — like that gas station along hwy 829 that short changed me on my slurpie purchase, or the…

Yes indeed on the editorial page of the “Times Colonist” friday 23 April, they must still be all giddy from celebrating comrade Vladimer Lenins BD yesterday anyway headline “Climategate debunked” they explain that not just one but two “independendent studies” showed that there was no falsifacation or manipulation of data” HUH? no name on the fish wrap. timescolonist.com Relax ….drink…the….cool…aid.
