Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Protest? Hell, it looks like she was trying to eat Coulter!
Zog 10:02
I’m with u, with friends like that who needs enemas
She could include that protesters head shot on Mayhem and title it “Channeling an Angry PEZ Dispenser” – it would show that she is capable of a broad emotional range. I hear the “mean but pretty” is the new trend in the modelling world. Tyra Banks might even scoop her up.
Mike514- I can agree with your 1st two comments but man, your 3rd is really over the top! ;~))
The racist remark will do us no good. It is counter productive and I didn’t appreciate the “This is Small Dead Animals” remark … as though racism is okay here. It might be allowed, but it isn’t okay.
And if there was ONE would there not be others?
Really, how MANY of those protesters were students at U of O and how many were rent-a-rage?
Snowbunnie, why does the name Olivia Chow come to mind?
The important fact is this woman demonstrated she is angry and intolerant.
No wonder Coulter wrote on her blog that local stores ran out of brown shirts.
For mouth-breather and T, that’s a reference to early footsoldiers National Socialist Worker’s Party … HHHHHHMMMMMMMmmmm, defending workers from the man/NDP/Nazis.
I seem to detect a pattern here, at least the same constituency.
“The racist remark will do us no good.”
Actually, the poster was making fun of her lips, which are rather large. It is racist of YOU to assume that he was being racist because YOU are making the correlation. For all we know the poster may have commented about the lips had it been a white person which massive lips. Stop being so knee-jerk sensitive – this isn’t 2002 anymore.
Commie rage personified.
Wrap a Looney Toons logo around that gaping maw, stick it on a tee shirt and I’ll buy one for every union holiday.
LOL what a graphic display of low brow commie tantrum taking.
I knew something wasn’t right about the “protestor” when I saw the Coco Chanel scarf. Too expensive.
Talk about Astroturf, not grassroots. Talk about ACORN-y.
Actually, syf, the question is why people here are attacking the free speech of someone who was protesting known anti-semite Ann Coulter.
Posted by: mouth at April 2, 2010 1:20 AM
“Known anti-Semite”???
I’d love to see valid proof. Never happen.
If Leftists can brazenly go around calling non-Leftists bad stuff as if it’s true, then why do Leftists become enraged when we call Obama a known anti-Semite, a known dictator, a known racist and a known communist?
Why the double standard? Why is it ok for Leftists to defame non-Leftists, but it’s not ok for non-Leftists to even tell the truth about Leftists?
Never mind. I dismiss the troll and move on.
Said T ‘Big deal. And the problem is?’
* * * * * * * * * *
The recurring pattern.
I posted a comment at the link. However, it is a moderated site. It was in response to commenter James:
James:
Geeze, I thought that all the fascists were on the right. Got that one wrong it would appear. This is the type of mob rule that was financed by Bob Rae and his NDP …
My response:
If you understood what Fascism is, you would know that Fascists are properly classified as belonging on the political left. Of course, the most infamous of the Fascist groups is the one in Germany whose members called themselves Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers Party). Fascism is a particular brand of Socialism that does allow – in fact encourages – an adaptation from pure Socialism to fit the distinctions of the particular nation in which it is advocated. Therefore, the Nazis were correct to term their movement “National Socialism”.
Pure Socialism uses the power of the state to set up a class warfare either 1) between the rich and poor classes or 2) between the rich and middle-and-poor classes. In practice in the second case, it destroys the middle class over time. National Socialism (Fascism) of any variety will use the power of the (Socialist) state to advance the interests of the particular nation at that time in history. Nationalism (of any variety) can become almost as important in the cause as the underlying Socialism. The Nazis were interested in German world domination as much or more so than they were interested in Socialist world domination and only used peace treaties and alliances to advance that Nationalist Socialist cause.
No discussion of the Nazis can be complete without a discussion of the Jewish issues. Although there is nothing in Fascism that insists upon antisemitism, a negative form of Nationalism (as opposed to the positive form called Patriotism) will set up a class warfare between those who are perceived as being foreigners or who are less than “pure” from a Nationalist perspective. If members of a less than “pure” group are also generally thought to be in the rich economic class, then both aspects of National Socialism (the Nationalism and the Socialism) affect the policies of the state. The rest should be obvious.
In my experience, I have determined that the left does not have a monopoly on hatred. However, I have found that nobody can hate as much or be as vicious as a leftist. The woman in question here demonstrates that hatred and should be used as a text book example. She properly belongs on the political left. No one who understands the left should be surprised that she is where she is and with whom she is associated. Some have made comments calling for the NDP member to make a public statement or to discipline this person. This is unlikely to happen because in both pure Socialism and in National Socialism, it is imperative that a warfare take place. This woman is not an embarrassment to the movement – she is obedient.
One look at that and I’d chew my arm off.
Are you kidding in leftist circles she just earned a big promotion.
Posted by: Joe at April 1, 2010 6:56 PM
Joe, not only a promotion in pay if that, but a place in parliament.
Is it really such a big deal that an NDPer was at the rally?
I mean, the contact person for Coulter’s $250-a-head private reception at Rideau club is one Ashley Scorpio, a staffer for Conservative MP Gerald Keddy. She also used to work for Mr. Harper’s PMO.
Big effin deal.
Twiddle:

Yes, because those activities are the exact same thing… attending a reception peacefully and being a ignorant shit disturber are not in anyway on the same level. If anyone thought they were the same, Miss Ellen would have been sitting peacefully at the reception after dishing out $250 bucks and not throwing a public tantrum and trashing the freedoms of others.
Since the opposition has demanded that all employees of MP’s staff should identify themselves as such, I expect Pat Martin will demand Ocran do the same – rather than pose as a University of Ottawa student.
I expect that Martin will also admonish her for inciting violence and insist she write letters instead.
The other question I would have is did Pat Martin send her there to protest or is Matin denying this and is Ignatieff calling him a liar.
Rabidly oppressing free speech, and jackboots. This is your modern-day Left.
Not pretty, is it?

Peter:
Have you contacted Pat Martin and expressed your sentiments to him the same way as you have here?
It’s easy to find his email address.
Go for it and let us know how things work out.
Justme
“attending a reception peacefully and being a ignorant shit disturber are not in anyway on the same level”
Replace the word “reception” with “townhall meeting” and then congratulate yourself on delivering a scathing indictment of the Tea Party protesters.
Where were the ‘free speech’ folk when Galloway was denied entry into Canada?
I mean he apologizes for muslim suicide bombers and Coulter preaches nuking muslim countries. Not to mention her apparently strong belief that Jews need to be err what was the word she used ‘fixed’? ‘pefected’?
Ah free speech. Gotta love it.
kandle:
Near as I recall, many of the violent incidents at townhall meetings were done by people wearing purple shirts.
In case you’re unaware, those are SEIU members … that, is Service Employees International Union.
It seems there is a common thread here, all right.
SEIU, NDP … pretty much the same types of utopian totalitarians responsible for the mass murder of innocent citizens through marxist and National Socialist German Workers Party tactics in the 20th century.
Appears to me there’s a great need for re-education, to reflect the reality of which side embraces intimidation and violence to promote its political ends.
kandle, you would do well to read Terry Glavin’s blog, the section about Galloway, the politician who’s bragged about helping to FUND Hamas, which is on the terrorists list in Canada. Giving money to Hamas is illegal in Canada.

// So, will the MSM cover this the way they covered guergis’ employee’s conduct? //
It doesn’t appear that she’s hiding much.
Anyway “Ms. Coulter’s speech at Ottawa University was booked by Laura McLennan, president of the campus conservative club, which claims 80 members; Ms. McLennan promised all 80 would attend the event. A private reception was also held at Ottawa’s Rideau Club for $250 a pop; for a ticket, you contacted Ashley Scorpio, a staffer in the office of Conservative MP Gerald Keddy; Ms. Scorpio has also worked as an administrative assistant in Prime Minister Harper’s office. Mr. Keddy denies any involvement of his office in Ms. Scorpio’s activities on behalf of Ms. Coulter, and of course the Prime Minister’s Office assures us it was equally uninvolved.
Ms. Coulter seems to have been invited to London, Ont., by Mary Lou Ambrogio on behalf of the International Free Press Society, while her speech at the University of Western Ontario was arranged by the Campus Coalition for Democracy, represented by two young London conservatives, Ari Fine and Andrew Lawton. According to Jonathan Sher in the London Free Press, Ms. Coulter was paid $10,000 for this appearance by the society, with “the balance of Coulter’s fee” coming from the Luce Policy Institute in the United States. $25,000 a pop seems to be her going rate.”
Another US-subsidized event. Call it the Scorpio-Ambrogio-Fiasco.

What’s your point?
Anybody want to see me put my whole fist in my mouth?

The parallel with “guergis’ employee’s conduct?” fails.
She protested in the open, didn’t hide her name in a letter & she is a student of the university.
And if working for a politician means “busted”, you should consider those who organized the event.
The second paragraph is just a continuation which I included for information & because it included a reference to the local chapter of this —

mouth:
To be a Christian, one of the prime qualifications is to be a member of the human race.
In other words, it is an inclusive religion whose path was determined at Pentecost, with the decision the revealed truth belonged to all humanity, not just those who were Jewish.
In our church, we have parishioners from the Sudan and from Vietnam … we welcome human beings from all nations who care to learn the universal truths.
But, if you’d like to continue playing the victim and playing the race card on a religious topic, your strategy is there for all to see.
dizzy:
Your moral equivalence makes me dizzy.
Now we know what the Islamic-Rage poster boy would look like if he shaved his beard.
dizzy, do you have any legitimate evidence that Ellen Ocran is a student at the University of Ottawa? The print media appears to go with, and not deviate from, early reports of events. Sloppy reporting happens all the time.
Mouthy – Christians pray for the Jewish people in that we hope they will (as many have) realize that Christ was and is the long sought Messiah of the OT.
Jews don’t pray for Christians or anyone else as they feel that they are the Chosen People of God and they will not share that distinction with anyone. Jesus said to the woman at the well that it was not yet time for the Samaritans (or any Gentiles) but intimated that it was coming soon. It did come and it is now that time.

Yeah. I read a comment by her last July that she had just moved to Ottawa for school and a government job.
But this is a bit more obvious —

dizzy, thank you.
Judging by that, the protester is taking Political Science at the U of Ottawa.
Ann Coulter is not an anti-semite. I’m afraid larben seems to be, which makes me sad, because aside from that and his occasional borderline misogyny I rather like him.
bleetymouth remains a moron.
re. these “watermelon” comments etc. – aside from anything else – and obviously I’m just speaking for myself here – my guess is that Kate probably doesn’t appreciate this kind of bullsh*t on her blog. Would you?
