“Will? When? How? How?”
You’d think the giant brains running these corporations could use some of those intellectual gigawatts to come up with their own answers.
You’d also think they’d want to avoid appearances of deception.

It’s certainly suspicious.
Vagueness and grandoise slogans galore. Shades of Hopechangery.
The reasonable person will wonder why the secrecy.
The reasonable person will realize that it’s foolish to trust big, secretive groups of Organizations whose raison d’etre is to make as much money as possible.
Ask a legitimate question, pointing out the lack of openness, the penchant for evading inconvenient inquiries… and one can expect to be labelled a “conspiracy theorist”. When we just want answers and information, to be so slurred is nothing short of an insult.
I suspect that the proportion of those who will willingly brainlessly accept as true whatever these massive, for want of a better-sounding word, conspiracies, tell them is supposedly true… is ever-shrinking.
We believe it’s time for Democrats and Republicans to unite behind bi-partisan, national energy and climate legislation that increases our security and limits emissions, as it preserves and creates jobs.
They can’t have politicians getting behind the AGW Scam and preserving/creating jobs at the same time.
These are opposing goals.
If you have one, you can’t have the other.
If politicians support national energy and climate legislation these companies that are listed at the link are going to be laying off workers because there won’t be enough people with money to buy their products.
@andycanuck lol, that’s pretty good.
@Kate On this one I respectfully disagree. It’s Tad Seagal and Joe Clayton, both late of Widmeyer. Their new firm is Outreach Strategies LLC. They’re Washington lobbyists/communication specialists/whatever. Having the administrative and technical contacts of a domain hidden may have been suspicious in the 1990’s; it sure isn’t now.
Just look at the ludicrous flack the HillBuzz people are getting from crazed lefties. One of the lefty arguments is (seriously) that someone named “Jean” — their admin contact of record — cannot possibly be a gay man, ergo HillBuzz is some Republican hypocritical astroturf. Or something.
I don’t blame “Outreach Strategies LLC” for leaving the info off their registration. I do castigate them for being a bunch of environmental flacks, viz:
You’re very right to flag this (for a number of reasons). I just think your take on it is off on this occasion.
Much respect,
-Holmwood
The SEIU logo is all I need to see. Pass. “Crooks, Inc.” I don’t need.
Most of these companies are looking to cash in. The rest are just trying to cover all bases, in case of a worst case scenario.
None of my clients on the list.
GM and Chrysler are on the list. They are owned by Barack Obama. Who knew he was in favour of climate legislation?!
Try this (at least they are honest, even though they won’t discuss the issue)

There is also “another” organisation called (naturally) “we can lead”.
More than 80 leading CEOs from U.S. businesses sent a letter to President Obama and members of Congress…..The letter, organized by We Can Lead, can be found at http://www.wecanlead.org.
Now, wecanlead.org is sponsored by BICEP and Clean Economy Network. BICEP founding members are Levi Strauss & Co., Nike, Starbucks, Sun Microsystems and Timberland. On the other hand majority of founders of Clean Economy Network are so called ” clean businesses” like Ecosecurities, a bussiness “specialising in Emissions Reduction” or Vestas North America a company originated in Denmark and specializing in wind energy.
The exception there is Google.org – . or perhaps not, perhaps it is exactly as “clean” as these other businesses.
Can’t tell you who owns it, but I can tell you who runs their mail server:
OrgName: Media Temple, Inc.
OrgID: MEDIAT-10

Look an Ad that clearly states what businesses to not support if possible until they get their heads screwed back on straight.
I realize those in the clutches of Duke Energy’s carbon trading management via it being an utility are helpless, but voice your displeasure in that Duke Energy has pre-sold carbon credits from wind farms that it has not built yet. Plus they are looking to use your taxpayer money to build them.
At least you know who are the rent seeking corporations that are trying to make money on a impossible energy plan that includes the ability to turn off your fridge when you are at work(SmartGrid)and bill you 3 times the normal rate for the energy a shift worker uses watching TV mid-day. When you hear SmartGrid simply remeber what telephone rates were like before unlimited calling (3 times higher during the day) and that surprise bill that you could never figure out how a call to Grandma on her Birthday turned into a mortgage payment.
While DP hit the nail on the head, I’m still proud and somewhat surprised that my fortune 200 company isn’t on that list. We know the kind of pressure under which the Big 3 currently find themselves. DuPont on the other hand has a massive investment in NASCAR so probably feels the need to reflect a balanced perspective. Bullshxt, I say.
I find it very interesting how many of the companies on that website are NOT American – ABB, Alstom, Areva, BASF, BP, Capital Power, Daimler, DeutscheBank, Michelin, Rio Tinto, Shell, Siemens, Skanska, and Toyota at first glance are foreign firms lobbying the US government..
This is why Milton Friedman said that businessmen and academics were the two largest threats to Capitalism. Rent-seeking whores and the tenured unaccountably responsible for their “education” along with that of the political class that makes the rent-seeking competitively necessary in the first place. That in this example, the cause is based on a narrative of such quasi religious zeal and distance from reality, makes the rent-seekers even more naked and disgusting. The worst thing you could do to the folks on that list would be to give them a business environment of laissez-faire.
You have all seen the ‘Truth in advertising’ council”s TV ads.
Now if this isn’t the height of idiot brainwashing, what is?
TV advertising sells us copper bracelets that cures all our ailments.
TV ads want to give you some money for your ‘fun times’ while only asking for co-ownership of your home and castle.
We better hesitate before we call the US consumer naive.
Where is the Canadian dissent against the ‘truth in advertising’ propaganda, co-op funded by big deceptive business?
WE also blindly accept the standard 12 prescriptions from doctors who have no clue how all these drugs interact.
My common sense tells me these things are wrong. I trust my common sense.
Anyone else?
“We believe it’s time for Democrats and Republicans to unite behind bi-partisan, national energy and climate legislation”
Translation: Conservatives, give us your women and children without a peep. Hand over your property, bend over. You rich ones can buy K-Y at the government dispensary. As for us liberals, we will be getting it in the rear too, but hey, we like it.
Bi-partisan to Democrats the slave Party, is just another word for surrender.
After all to the Socialist what is more perfect than Marxism. So why compromise unless like Muslims. Its to regroup for an even bigger push against their foes?
Transparency just a slogan to hide mistakes while appearing sincere.
Yeah there sincere all right. In making us all helots to a failed homicidal economic model.

I discovered the same type of misuse for the 9/11 Conspiracy websites.
After delving into the source for the “Architechs and Engineers’ for 9/11 truth or the Firefightersfor911truth I found out that they are merely website Domain Names registered after the crisis which then offers a vague Petition to endorse which only claims that the 9/11 commission report was not wide enough to get all the answers.
For years now since the 9/11 attack I have demanded that the Co-Conspirators hiding the FACTS that show that Bush and Chaney murderer 3000 people show come forward and present their EVIDENCE to the FBI or any Police Station.
It is a Federal Offense to not Report information about a Murder or Felony , Ergo…..all of these 9/11 Truther’s and the CBC should shut-up,or produce the evidence because if not they become a Accessory after the fact to be part of the “Inside-Job” by Bush.
My other peeve is the bogus Website that exploit the Disabled by using “Accessible” in their Ads as if the meet the ADA standards in the USA, even in canada a housing developing ad used “Accessible” homes but as I looked deeper it applied to the ‘Sales-Office’ being wheelchair friendly for the Buying Experience, not the actual House being fully-Accessible.
Check out the “Green” claims by Bullfrog and the Ontario Liberals , seems that Daddy Dalton merely re-defined Nuclear Power as non-Green and evil so Bullfrog can run Ads that their Hydro dam energy is 100% Green even when only 20% of their Power supply is non-Coal generated.
I wish I was joking, but read the facts for yourself and take note of a Canadian “Futurist” that pushes BullFrog power in his Book and Public Speaking while he also is cited on the BullFrog website as Predicting the new Green Energy.
Quite the conflict of interests to be in bed with the Greenies and then Predict a Green Future that you are forcing on Society.
I e-mailed a few of the companies that I have patronized. We’ll see what they say!
On another note … take a lesson from Donna Laframboise…. use the terms in the blurb to search… to connect the dots to others who use the language in it.
Google returns many hits and links to EDF for one thing..
Here we go lemmings, over the cliff …
Take all the restrictions off advertising, say what you want, true or not, in about a year or so we would have the smartest consumers in the world. One other thing that would probably work real well is to take all the warning labels off everything, that would probably get rid of the idiots they were designed for.
It’s funny how many good ideas I can come up with after a round of golf and a few rum.
I must confess I’m confused by this post. But, just last week, cGuinty in Ontario announced a paln with Samsung to create 50,000 green jobs in Korea with a sweetheart monoply of wind turbines in Ontario.
Let me retype that:

Was trying to decide between a new Canadian nonunion built Toyota or Honda product. Looks like the choice is now clear.
