  4. More than a little interesting that Seth Borenstein neglected to mention his very friendly relationship with the [alleged] fraudsters being investigated.
    If a police detective or a district attorney had a personal relationship with an alleged criminal, do you think they’d still be allowed to stay on the case?
    P.S. Next good ‘ol Seth will be telling us who can read FORTRAN code that we didn’t actually see the “adjustments” (I’m being polite) that we did.

  7. AP used the term “mainstream science” several times. I hadn’t seen that term before, so I performed a search on both Bing and Google using the news search tabs. Bing returned only 13 hits and Google 10. Interestingly each hit related to Climate science and all references were after the climategate emails were posted. Seems “mainstream science” didn’t exist before climate gate.

  8. Worse yet, it appears there are now “leaked Copenhagen documents” did not click on this link over at the National Post on Diane Francis site. I got the sense from the comment underneath that read something to the effect of – we have less time than we thought – that this was an underhanded copycat tactic. I guess they figure whats good for the goose must be good for the gander. What they fail to realize is how transparent their attempt is to negate the truth of the CRU emails and documents. Pathetic really. My guess is their documents will not go viral.

  9. CTV, where the AP “exhaustive” review story is posted, is editing the comments. Also the little thumbs up and thumbs down thingys in the comments are manipulated internally by some CTV staffer that drank the global warming kool aid.
    Whenever there is a comment critical of the global warming farce, the thumbs down far out numbers the the thumbs up for the first half dozen comments. The thumbs down are lots even though the comment was just posted.Then subsequent comments have more thumbs up because the idiot staffer is doing something else and can’t fudge the numbers. It is then ordinary people with brains giving their opinion.
    They aren’t waiting for the asteroid.

  13. After an exhaustive review of the above email comparison, the AP concludes that the word “again” is not to be construed as there being repeated communication, and the use of first names and casual speak in no way supports the fact that they were friendly or even familier.

  14. The science of global warming wasn’t faked. The “unprecidented” and “abnormal” warming was, however, faked. This is the hockey stick. More than ever before, it can be declared with utmost certainty, that the hockey stick is a fraudulent construct. The warm decades that ended the 20th century may very well have been absolutely normal. CO2 can act as a greenhouse gas, but in such a complex system as our earth’s climate, how can we claim that we know 100% for certain that we have accounted for every variable? In order for the science to be correct, the conclusion must match the hypothesis. Therefore, if you have done the experiments correctly, and you have accounted for every variable precisely, then you will be able to predict a decade long decline in temperature! Not a single climate scientist can claim that they did this. Therefore, for any of them to have any credibility, they will need to admit that their thesis has failed, and go back to the drawing board. It’s time for the “scientists” (and I use that term loosely for those that have spoken so authoritatively on this issue) to step back, stop talking about it, and get to work designing a better model that will allow them to more accurately predict the future. For those politicians that have been enriching themselves on this entire scam, they should be charged with betraying/misleading/abusing the public.

    You mean to tell me that CTV, which runs CP24 News in downtown Toronto (just a 10-minute walk from the Ontario Legislature), a network that has ceased filing reports that echo daily opposition calls for a public inquiry into the BILLION $ LIBERAL E-HEALTH SCANDAL the day Liberal premier McGuinty spoke before reporters (several weeks ago) and stated unequivocally that there won‘t be one, but a network that, on a daily basis, continues to echo calls by the HoC opposition for a public inquiry into the Conservative gov’t ‘s role in the Afghan Detainee Transfer issue, weeks after McKay and the gov’t said no to one, could possibly have a bias and play favourites? Nonsense!

  27. I’ve posted at least three posts on various climategate articles found on CTV today; non of them have made it through. All criticized the MSM for being late to report what was already widely available on the web weeks prior, for colluding with the climate frauds, for pointing out how a protestor in the lead graphic on a copenhagen story carried a sign saying “scrap capitalism” etc. etc.

    ‘Mole sought in release of e-mails designed to sabotage summit
    Police are hunting a possible mole placed inside the University of East Anglia who may have leaked thousands of e-mails to sabotage the Copenhagen climate change summit.
    A source close to the university’s Climatic Research Unit has disclosed that staff are being investigated as part of a police inquiry into the hacking of the UEA computer system.
    “One option is a mole was placed inside the university to leak e-mails to deliberately discredit the work being done at the CRU,” the source said. “There are other theories, too, but police are investigating it.”
    An analysis of the leaked material by Lance Levsen, a Canadian systems analyst with skeptical views on climate change, has concluded that the package of e-mails and other documents was “compiled internally and most likely released by an internal source.”
    Levsen said: “For the hacker to have collected all of this information, he or she would have required extraordinary capabilities.”
    I nstead, he concluded, “the simplest explanation” is that a “person with scruples” at UEA “released it to the wild.”
    His finding has been seized upon by climate change skeptics as possible evidence that a member of the university staff may have become disaffected and leaked the material as a deliberate act of sabotage.
    The e-mails and documents, which were downloaded on to an Internet server in the Russian city Tomsk, have raised concerns over research methods at the CRU.
    The leak has been used by skeptics to allege that academics manipulated data to prove global warming is manmade.
    Many of the e-mails emanate from Prof. Phil Jones, the head of the CRU, who has stepped aside while the police inquiry and investigation by the university are carried out.’

  36. Speaking as one very interested in the fraud and how it is disseminated, but no where near the background and history that you have with the players, thanks for this post showing Borenstein connection.
    It appears that the fraudsters are aware of the need a consensus of scientists and media folks concluding that there is “nothing to see here” in order to reestablish their standing and to keep themselves out of jail.

  41. The MSM and the warmists and most fearful politicians are attempting to simply “brass it out”. That is when you are caught in the wrong, you simply ignore it puff out your chest and keep marching on.
    The MSM and the rest of the useful idiots are playing down the mounting evidence of fraud as though it is just rumor. It might just work.
    I have not seen a lot of defections from the loony side of this debate.

  45. the whole “study” by the AP is a joke, as they used their own people they would appear biased no matter what their conclusion is, it only dictates as to who sees them as biased and how they see them as so
    that they only address the E-mails and ignore the data and programing is another shot in their collective foot
    but the most damning aspect of their conclusion is the fact they state the “hide the decline” refers to adjusting the “graph” were the tree ring proxy data does not match the observed data, do these FOOLS not realize that this brings the whole proxy data set into question, and therefore the whole study and their (scientists) conclusions???

    30 minutes ago the comments were still open, or at least I got the comment box popup and successfully used it, I posted a query asking why CTV was censoring the name of co-author Seth B., and asking why they weren’t telling us that Seth was in frequent contact with the CRU crew looking for talking points to use against the “deniers”. I then asked if it sucked to be the MSM now that people can do their own fact-checking online.
    I’ll let you know if it got through before the banhammer fell.
