  2. I had a strange thought this morning. I guess I have spent too much time thinking and reading about the latest developments regarding climategate. I am currently teaching my grade 9’s about atomic structure (protons, neutrons, electrons). Maybe carbon trading/taxing and the potential new world government will somehow constitute “the mark of the beast” (666) as mentioned in Revelation 13:16-18
“He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666.”
Most carbon atoms are comprised of 6 protons, 6 neutrons, and 6 electrons – hence the 666. Maybe carbon trading is “the beast” that everyone will have to bow down to. How do you like that for a conspiracy theory??

  3. Massage to all Canadians: Get a good body rub at Al’s Body Parlor!
Ok That’s not quite what I meant.
Message to all Canadians: Massage you politicians (even if you do not like them) and tell them what a fraud AGW is and that they must resist the syren call of global hockey-kockey at Copenhagen.
The science IS in, and it is NEGATIVE!!

  4. Stupid comment from Larry King on tonite’s show..as he speaks to the friends of the WH party crashers..’we’d like you to come back,we don’t have an agenda on this program’ He then went on to gum some pablum, and ask his nurse to change his Depends.

  5. Throughout all of the ClimateGate revelations and the “strange” behaviour afterwards of journalists like Bob McDonald, Anna Maria Tremonti, Bill Good, etc. I’ve been wondering this:
Have “professional journalists” always been so ignorant and close-minded or is this a new phenomenon in the past 10 years or so?
Put another way, has the Internet finally given us, the great unwashed masses, an effective way to collaborate and shout back or has the professionalism and general intelligence of journalists just steadily decreased?
Perhaps someone over 50 or 60 could provide us with an informed answer.

  6. Robert

You might add “lazy” “pompus” and “arrogant” to your list.

  7. ottawa.ctv.ca is carrying the story of Eastern Ontario MPP Randy Hillier being suspended from the Ontario legislature for refusing to leave in protest over the HST.
Apparently he called MacGuinty a liar also.
    So?
It’s not like the taxpayers of the province aren’t thinking the same thing.

  8. The UN censorship of the meetings at Copenhagen has already begun.

The media coordinator for the U.N. climate change convention in Copenhagen next week today formally denied WND and senior staff writer Jerome Corsi access to the meeting billed by some participants as a major step forward in global governance.

  10. The man , on a live cbc camera, demanding the cbc report on climate gate – almost 40,000 views now.
More than their daily audience, heh.
Hey man, give Kate a call – bet she would like to interview you. Make you a well deserved celeb !

  12. Robert W
I think it is all of that and more.
My Grandfather swore the Wpg Free Press was intellectually blind.
My Father knew the media was an ass.
I say the media is more interested in spin than accuracy.
It does seem to me that, since the Internet, the media has turn up the spin. Will even lie (as in AGW) and border on the criminal (climategate ommission).
    My 2cents theory;
Since the advent of on-line news and blogs, the real news hounds have migrated to them. The MSM is left with the Tabloid Crowd so they have swung to ‘leftism’ to take over that territory.
To save their ass, could this be why the media has, even by it’s standards, become so unbelievably insane ?? One would think even they would not have wanted to fall so low.

  13. Ron, interesting points. I wrestle with what you’re saying. Is it that the MSM has become more Left-leaning or that we, the audience, now have a way to:
    – Meet other kindred souls through venues like SDA
    – Fight back by spreading information
This is what I’m wondering about.

  14. Dennis Miller had a couple of interesting comments on his show today about how 2010 is going to be an extremely difficult time for those who have adopted Man-made Global Warming as a Religion. He said that as things keep unfolding, more than a few of these people are going to have a mental breakdown.
If anyone’s interested, I could spend a few minutes compiling the key parts into a short podcast. Just let me know.

  15. Perhaps media retirement funds are heavily into Climatism and Scientology. The Arts lounge will do that to you.

  16. It is my fervent hope that this climategate debacle is not allowed to die and will continue to grow until the last nail is pounded into the coffin of the climate change lunacy.
That being said, the story would not be complete until those who profited from this scam are disgraced, demonized and incarcerated for the rest of their days.
Nothing would please me more than the sight of Al Gore and David Suzuki sharing a cell, furtively contemplating their belts and shoe laces which the guards neglected to confiscate as bailiffs supervised the removal of furniture from their respective mansions.
However, the spectacle of Gore and Suzuki brawling over a choice tidbit while foraging in a restaurant dumpster in minus 20 degree temperatures would suffice.
Does this make me a bad person?

  17. bluetech, thanks for that. I hadn’t really been following the story but was aware that the NS tree farm had to bring in workers from Mexico.
The other day an acquaintance of mine here in Vancouver told me about a 20-something fellow she met up at Whistler. She asked him if he was up there to find work. “Nope,” he responded, “I’m just going to live off of EI this winter.”
He wasn’t ashamed by this in ANY way. Yet he is clearly STEALING from the People of Canada. I’m not familiar with EI but there must be some really lax regulations to allow this to happen.

  18. How to rewrite the historical temperature record
(or “totally inventing the hockey stick chart”)
    First see:
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/11/30/crugate_analysis/print.html
Note the chart of the original version of the temperature record. And note what happened to it when Michael Mann got busy with his Siberian “treemometers” and his crazy statistics.
On her blog, Lucia explains how to make a hockey stick chart out of random data:
    http://rankexploits.com/musings/2009/tricking-yourself-into-cherry-picking/
    She notes:

Also notice that when I do this, the “blue proxie reconstruction” prior to 1960 is quite smooth. In fact, because the proxies are not sensitive, the past history prior to the “calibration” period looks unchanging. If the current period has an uptick, applying this method to red noise will make the current uptick look “unprecedented”. (The same would happen if the current period had a down turn, except we’d have unprecedented cooling. )

  19. The following article must have been funded by Big Oil.
    Carbon Dioxide in Greenhouses
    http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/crops/facts/00-077.htm
The benefits of carbon dioxide supplementation on plant growth and production within the greenhouse environment have been well understood for many years.
“Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an essential component of photosynthesis (also called carbon assimilation). Photosynthesis is a chemical process that uses light energy to convert CO2 and water into sugars in green plants. These sugars are then used for growth within the plant, through respiration. The difference between the rate of photosynthesis and the rate of respiration is the basis for dry-matter accumulation (growth) in the plant. In greenhouse production the aim of all growers is to increase dry-matter content and economically optimize crop yield. CO2 increases productivity through improved plant growth and vigour. Some ways in which productivity is increased by CO2 include earlier flowering, higher fruit yields, reduced bud abortion in roses, improved stem strength and flower size. Growers should regard CO2 as a nutrient.

  21. Ron, the problem with that video is that it’s put out by “New World Order” folks. Trust me, Al Gore & co. would love nothing more than to associate legitimate global warming skeptics with New World Order groups. Why? Because it makes us all look like nutters.
The key here is to battle the AGW alarmists on facts (and their lack of them), not wild conspiracy theories that simply don’t ring true with the general population … including yours truly.

  22. The media campaign to try to spread AGW hysteria prior to Copenhagen has hit even small town papers. A friend of mine sent me this link to Kamloops this week (http://www.bclocalnews.com/bc_thompson_nicola/kamloopsthisweek/news/75020407.html)
which is a free paper which is primarily useful when there is a London Drugs flier inside or when one needs to cover the floor before painting a wall. This story was on the front page and this is the only reason my friend saw it and he went ballistic. There is the ability to comment on the kamloopsthisweek.com web site but for some reason both his comments about the story and mine never made it past the moderator. Curiously no comments have appeared for a couple of days now.
I tried twice and didn’t make a copy of my first note but basically let the newspaper know that the climate was a chaotic system and that predicting the weather 30 years in advance was mathematically impossible. After all, Lorenz was a climatologist who first discovered chaos in the weather and has a strange attractor named after him. After my comment didn’t appear online after a couple of days I then sent the following to the paper:
I posted a comment which didn’t get through and am surprised to see Kamloopsthisweek is refusing to see the implications of climategate. The dead tree media has shown itself to be irrelevant over the last 2 weeks in its studious refusal to cover anything related to climategate which is the scientific scandal of the century and the basis for the largest attempted extortion of wealth in human history. The fact that the blogosphere has covered this issue on a massive scale while the mainstream media pretends it doesn’t exist is going to cause a lack of confidence among the general population in the MSM which is likely irreversible. 10 days ago there were signs that the Australian government might fall as a result of climategate causing a number of Liberal party senators to resign rather than vote for the emissions trading scheme (ETS) which is one of the frauds being perpetuated by the warmist con men. ETS, which was supposedly going to be passed without difficulty, has been defeated and there will likely be an election in Australia as a result. This is the first of many dominoes that will fall and the increasingly large number of people that get their news from online blogs will have even less of a reason to buy the products of the MSM.
For those who are interested in learning about climategate, I recommend smalldeadanimals.com where Kate McMillan has done an excellent job of presenting a blow by blow account of the climategate scandal in her “The sound of all hell breaking loose” postings. Anthony Watts provides daily updates on his wattsupwiththat blog which is probably the best source of technical information accessible to the non-scientist. For the scientifically inclined, Steve McIntyre has tirelessly chipped away at the climate scam for years and maintains a very technically oriented blog at climateaudit.org. Steve McIntyre has demolished the infamous “hockey stick” graph and has tirelessly requested raw data from CRU under freedom of information requests which the CRU now claims to have “lost”.
Kamloopsthisweek has a choice; serve only as a convenient source of birdcage liner material or break the MSM wall of silence and post the truth.
I’m not expecting it to be published but a small local paper might pay attention is SDA readers were to flood their comment mechanism with climategate news. (there don’t appear to be very many online commenters at all from what I’ve seen watching this site for the last 3 days).
After seeing that cities are actually making plans based on the AGW BS, I’m going to look into what my municipality is doing and in a smaller city reminding municipal politicians that you’re not going to sit by and watch your taxes be squandered on policies based on junk science and that you will definitely be voting in the next election, you’re more likely to get results. Municipal elections have notoriously low turnouts and people where I live are independently minded and won’t look very favorably on politicians that are dupes of climate con men.

  23. I don’t necessarily disagree with you about the intentions of some but if you start talking about a New World Order, Alex Jones, eugenics, etc. you will be playing right into the hands of what the Extreme Leftists want … and they will win.
I think an apropos analogy would be Canada’s Kangaroo Courts aka “Human Rights” Commissions. Were the introduction of these a vast conspiracy? I think not. Rather, they were an attempt by the Left to introduce a forced equality of results for all. And in the end equation, they saw nothing wrong with stifling speech they disagreed with. But a “conspiracy”? Nahhh. Only perhaps a conspiracy of nitwits!
Stick to the facts, stick to the lies of the “scientists” (who have proven themselves to be anything but) and truth will prevail.

  24. wingwalker – you are correct – Robert – Glenn Beck has captured the words coming out of some of the world leader’s fat yaps. Check it out on glenbeck.com. Think logically: why in the ‘world’ would governments attempt to bankrupt their own nations with a crippling tax on hot air based on manipulated fraudulent data spun into a theory(that is not how the Scientific Method goes). If these climatoligists are not scientists (they have NOT been following the Scientific Method); the question must be asked: Who are they and who are they working for..? Not the people who pay them (you and I via grants); if they are not working for us then who are they are working for and who are our politicians and paid media working for…what would be the motive to manufacture such a hoax?

  25. Jema, they are Leftists, pure & simple. What drives them is emotion, not intellect. Up until now they’ve believed the facts were on their side. Now that it’s becoming abundantly clear to all that this is not the case, their emotions will kick into high gear, convincing them that they’re still right.
Is that a conspiracy of people who’ve known all along that they’re liars and con artists? No, it’s just the collective Group Think of the Left.
Not so different than the same sheeple who think that Obama has been doing a fine job. You see, for them to believe anything else would mean that they agree with us. But we’re evil so that’s not permissable!

  26. Robert W – Hitler and Lenin were both socialists spouting the same mumbo jumbo that we hear from the troika members and the Demos next door.
Hitler and Lenin declared their objectives to be World Domination and set out to achieving it through slave labor and repression.
These power hungry human haters are all hell bent on distroying the human race. We are all in that race.

  27. Socialism’s New World Order arrived in Europe today, December 01, 2009.
What socialists Hitler/Stalin could not bring about by war in Europe, the Euro socialists have finished without war in Europe.

    “Lisbon’s Constitutional Revolution by Stealth
An analysis by Prof. Anthony Coughlan
With the coming into force of the Lisbon Treaty on Tuesday 1 December, members of the European Parliament, who up to now have been “representatives of the peoples of the States brought together in the Community” (Art.189 TEC), become “representatives of the Union’s citizens” (Art.14 TEU).
This change in the status of MEPs is but one illustration of the constitutional revolution being brought about by the Lisbon Treaty.
For Lisbon, like the EU Constitution before it, establishes for the first time a European Union which is constitutionally separate from and superior to its Member States, just as the USA is separate from and superior to its 50 constituent states or as Federal Germany is in relation to its Länder.
The 27 EU members thereby lose their character as true sovereign States. Constitutionally, they become more like regional states in a multinational Federation, although they still retain some of the trappings of their former sovereignty. Simultaneously, 500 million Europeans becomes real citizens of the constitutionally new post-Lisbon European Union, with real citizens’ rights and duties with regard to this EU, as compared with the merely notional or symbolical EU citizenship they are assumed to have possessed up to now.
Most Europeans are unaware of these astonishing changes, for two reasons. One is that, with the exception of the Irish, they have been denied any chance of learning about and debating them in national referendums. The other is that the terms “European Union”, “EU citizen” and “EU citizenship” remain the same before and after Lisbon, although Lisbon changes their constitutional content fundamentally.
The Lisbon Treaty therefore is a constitutional revolution by stealth.” (more)

  30. A pyrrhic victory for socialism.
Now, Islam moves to kill Europe dead.
    …-
“At midnight last night, the United Kingdom ceased to be a sovereign state
We woke up in a different country today. Alright, it doesn’t look very different. The trees still seem black against the winter sun; the motorways continue to jam inexplicably; commuters carry on avoiding eye contact. But Britain is no longer a sovereign nation. At midnight last night, we ceased to be an independent state, bound by international treaty to other independent states, and became instead a subordinate unit within a European state.
Yes, a European state. Take a quick dekko at the definition set out in Article One of the1933 Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States: “The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: (a) a permanent population; (b) a defined territory; (c) government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states.”
Until yesterday, the EU qualified on grounds (a), (b) and (c). Now it has ticked the final box. Under the Lisbon Treaty, which came into force today, it acquires “legal personality”, which gives it the right to sign treaties and treat with other states. Nor is this right simply theoretical: the EU now has a foreign minister, a diplomatic corps (the European External Action Service) and 16o overseas embassies.
Until yesterday, the EU could not annex additional policy areas without a new treaty, which needed to be ratified by all its constituent nations. Now, it has the so-called “passerelle” clause, or self-amending mechanism. Parliament, in other words, no longer has the final say on extensions of EU jurisdiction. The EU derives its authority, not from its 27 members, but from its own foundational texts.
Until yesterday, Britain could simply walk out of the EU by abrogating the Treaty of Rome and repealing the 1972 European Communities Act. Henceforth, it will have to go through the secession procedure laid down in Lisbon. In other words – in the minds of Euro-lawyers, at any rate, if not of British constitutionalists – the EU gets to settle the terms on which its members are allowed to leave. Formal sovereignty has been shifted from the national capitals to Brussels.
It is appalling, demeaning, disgraceful that such a thing should have been done without popular consent, and in the absence of the referendum that all three parties had promised. “There’s no point in crying over spilt milk,” you might say. True. But there is every point in mopping it up.”

Obama will raise the number of troops in Afghanistan to FIVE TIMES the number of troops during the Bush administration.
Yes a surge of 35,000 troops will raise the number by FIVE TIMES.
Now dear liberals would any of you care to explain to me how does that make Bush the war mongerer and Obama the “bring peace to the world guy” ???
or would you now admit the media fooled you and sold you an image of Obama that has nothing to do with the real Obama?
I will not hold my breath.
