  4. I know how a doormat feels.(Keep walking, wipe your boots here, nothing to see) I honestly feel the twits at “best buy” think that Muslim is a race (rather than a time warp to the past). This is diversity in action. One of my co workers (23 years my junior) is now feeling resentment against “Diversity” as white women no longer meet the “Threshold” for the new era.
    Told her she should have been a “White Man” in the 1980’s.

    I took him off the list a week ago. Everybody is on to him, so it’s someone to come who will look like him: a winning, charming smile and personality, who isn’t a Christian, is not a friend of Israel, and hates the USA.
    You won’t be able to miss him.

  16. If you plan on boycotting Best Buy, then you have to boycott Future Shop because the same company owns them both.
    BTW … has anyone determined if Best Best is leaving OUT Christmas message this year (the snopes was from 2006).

    Need a camera and was planning on going to Future
    Shop for it….not anymore.

  19. Speaking of boycotts, Bass Pro Shop is on my list. I went to the new store in Calgary today. Pulled out my glasses, and started reading labels. I finally asked an employee if he could point out a single pair of boots, not made in China. He actually laughed at me. Screw them.

    I heard some time ago that a Moslem owns the Corp.
    The Moslems are the only ones with money these days, so what do you expect.

  22. Ken- The sad part is, I went to Calgary, specifically, to visit the new store. What a letdown. One bright spot though, I found a little shop that sells big wool sweaters, made in Alberta, from Alberta wool. $300, and worth every penny.

  23. No Best Buy in Saskatoon yet, there’s one slated to open next spring. As for Future Shop, they seem to have the Ikea aura… People somehow think they are actually getting a deal there, when the prices are the same or higher as elsewhere, and when the price does look like a deal it’s because the product is Chiwanese junk.

  24. In Calgary, for electronics, SoundsAround is the place to go…local company, great service and knowledgeable staff, very competitive….have spent a whack on electronics there.
    Was planning on checking out Future Shop for a camera as a gift this year…I may end out paying more at London Drugs, but I’ll feel great about it. Future Shop is on the no-shop list!

  25. Stopped shopping at Future Shop years ago, but only because of poor price comparisons. Wally’s has far better return policy as does Costco and that’s important with all the Chinese junk around. Constantly surprised with the failure rate of electronics these days.

  26. dp, I have a brother in Airdrie and we visited the Bass Pro Shop in June, in Balsac I think, and it has great wildlife scenery, but almost everything is made off shore.
    Lets see what Best Buy’s Christmas email flyers say before we totally write them off.

  27. Will visit both Best Buy and Future Shop, ask a lot of questions about the prices of weird and wonderful things they stock and get the slightly hyper sales boys and girls going, and then … leave the store,
    literally shaking the dust from my feet. Oh and I may wish them happy goat slaying day. I remember here in Van a fellow told a judge who forbade him to protest in front of one of the local abortuaries (or was that abattoirs) that he just might slaughter one of his lambs in front of it. The judge said he didn’t think it a good idea. I thought it an excellent idea.
