Blog Notes (bumped)

I’ve a lot on my plate today, so blogging will be a bit slow for the next few hours.
I will add however, that at some point later today SDA is likely to reach our 15 million visit mark.

From the comments – “That ‘lots on your plate’ wouldn’t have anything to do with opening day of whitetail season in Sask now, would it?”
Heh. 15 million visits, a “new” Ford 150, and the first doe of the season hanging in the shed. It’s a good day.
Kathy Shaidle sends a congratulatory email – ’tis the season!

  1. Congrats Kate. Mostly for getting a Ford. Good luck hunting…….even if vension is the vilest of meats

  2. oh that is hilarious.
even got the red blood drippings right.
I got a yen for some venison right now. I wish you could get it in the supermarket like all that antibiotic and water pumped beef and pork.

  3. Congratulations Kate and thanks for the real unvarnished no-spin news.
Hope you get your deer. Don’t forget to bag a few coyotes and use the $20 each to help pay for the truck.
Is the new to you F150 a 4×4?
    Go Riders.

  4. It helped that Ford was a non-bailout manufacturer, but what helped most was that my brother was selling it.
Just uploading a pic now, for the really really bored among you. It’s not a 4×4 – I don’t need to get stuck that badly.

  5. 14,999,089 is the count as I type this, just like watching the ball drop at Madison Square at midnight at year’s end, and tonight a double bill, the Leonids if the sky clears here in our part of the country.
Congratulations all round Kate, the pickup, Bambi and the 15th million visitor.
    You are Canada’s best!

  7. Congrats Kate, be sure to celebrate with beer and popcorn.
I still think this is one of the best things I’ve read on the internet, I pointed it out to some friends the other day:
    “Why this blog?
    Until this moment
    I have been forced
    to listen while media
    and politicians alike
    have told me
    “what Canadians think”.
    In all that time they
    never once asked.
    This is just the voice
    of an ordinary Canadian
yelling back at the radio –
“You don’t speak for me.” ”
    Oh, and Riders by 13

  8. Kate- nice truck, but sure doesn’t look like a deer-hunting truck…yet. My ’09 F150 needs a carwash…bad!
This posting- hoping to nail #15,000,000.
    You’re the best.

  9. Congrats Kate! I got a screencap of 15,000,000 from over here in sunny Saudi Arabia. Hope to be around to see you double that number.

  10. It appears visitor #15,000,000 was a Shawcable user from Burnaby, BC.
    Domain Name shawcable.net ? (Network)
    IP Address 24.80.109.# (Shaw Communications)
    ISP Shaw Communications
    Location Continent : North America
    Country : Canada (Facts)
    State/Region : British Columbia

  11. It would be fascinating to know what percentage of the Canadian population had visited SDA at least once. My guess is between one and two per cent, making for an average of perhaps 30-40 visits per … and as most of us regular types are probably up around a few thousand or more, there must be many one or two time visitors — perhaps they expected to find small dead animals here, or were looking for the mall of dead animals, or were just plain lost.
Although this is a great accomplishment, I think we could all agree that if we added this reality check to the reality check of actual visits to other conservative sites, the stark truth of the matter is that 90 to 98 per cent of the adult population are living in relative ignorance despite being wired into the world wide web (of deceit). When you think about it this way, Canada would only stand much of a chance of seeing real progress on certain issues if sites like this had fifty or a hundred million hits, because that’s what it would take to open more eyes to what’s really going on (with climate change, for instance). I’m sure that SDA is moving in the right direction, but those who are moving in the wrong direction could be going faster for all we know.

  12. Woo Hoo! Congrats Kate on a wonderful day…on all fronts!
Thanks for keeping us informed and ‘entertained’.

  13. I wonder if this will be brought up in the HofC….”Mr. Speaker,it has come to our attention that a Conservative website in Saskatchewan is receiving more visits than all the Liberal sites combined. This is outrageous. Can anyone explain this huge discrepancy?”. Congratualations!!

  14. Congrats, Kate.
I fully agree with you about not needing a 4×4; if you need it to get unstuck, you shouldn’t have gone there in the first place.
Ford F-150? These days, it doesn’t seem to matter too much who of the “big three” made the vehicle. Many of the components for all of them are made by Magna, etc., anyway.
If you want that truck to last as long as the Dodge did, pull that plastic box-liner out (unless it’s a spray-on). They mostly just hold the moisture and salt in, and the bed rusts out sooner…

  15. Just a note for any Canadian MSM who lurk at this site, The O’Reilly Factor, Glenn Beck and Laura Ingraham are aware of the blog “Small Dead Animals” this morning and the fifteen million hits SDA has received.
Will a Canadian MSM journo even comment on their respective medium regarding SDA today?
    Not likely.

  16. When my better half spots hunters in tree blinds along the Platte, several blasts on the locomotive horn shatters the silence and scatters the herds. Levels the playing field and increases the “sporting” component. Nuge, love you man but the ethics in today’s hunting is about on a par with that of journalism.

  17. Kate the Great – thankyou for sda. You have saved my sanity and made me laugh for years. The MSM is backward, boring, misinformed and bland. Canada is here at sda, the ‘other’ Canada, the grey dishwater version, is served up in filthy piles by the Left wing nuts in our taxpayer funded msm.
    Thanks a 15 million, plus!!
