I’m back. Sick, aching, bone tired, and completely out of the political loop of the past two weeks, but I’m back. After four marathon days in the ring at Montgomery County, we pulled out of Philadelphia (with 13 dogs in the truck) on Sunday night and didn’t stop for more than gas and dog breaks until we arrived in Fargo late Monday.
To add to the excitement, somewhere in the middle of the trip we all caught a nasty cold.
It’s going to take a few more hours to finish unpacking and get some rest, but posting should be pretty much back to normal by tomorrow.
Many thanks to the folks who stepped in while I was away. Without you, SDA would come to a grinding halt during these trips. From what I saw during my brief moments on line, the quality of the posts were excellent – a little too excellent, actually. I better step up my game!

Welcome back Kate.
Road weary and a cold? Ugh.
We missed you Kate! Glad you’re all back safely. As for the cold, we have a bad one here, too! Not fun….
I missed you. It was boring here and somewhat annoying at best. If I wanted, I’d gone to read their blogs, which they mostly linked. But I am your reader, you know.
Kate is actually Sarah Conner in disguise. Or possibly a terminator robot. Or a robot Sarah Connor.
Philly to Fargo in one go? That’s hard core, Kate. I thought my three day from Sioux Falls to Phoenix was something, but it seems not. In my defense, I was flying solo. No dogs to do the driving, y’know.
…say, how do they reach the pedals?
Had a nasty cold last week myself. Get well soon, Kate.
Also, your guest hosts were excellent, but things just aren’t quite the same without you around. So, I wouldn’t worry too much. ;-}}}
Step up your game right now by resting up.
We can wait a bit.
No worries.
Pictures would be cool when you get time.
I would suggest the correct description for you condition would be: “dog tired”
Welcome back Kate and get well soon!
Dog shows are obviously a cruel mistress. Here’s hoping you won everything and drove the competition to despair; nothing against them, of course, I’m sure they’re lovely people, but they should be re-evaluating their lives and hitting the bottle or moving into ashrams just around now. No match for your schnauzer-power.
Guest posters were great, though.
p.s. – I haven’t had a chance to try this myself yet, but a “doctor” (that is, a shrink) told me that the trick with migraines is to drink a litre and a half of water when you feel one coming on. Apparently it does something to the blood vessels.
Kate is back???
Kate who????
Get some rest Kate. Glad you and the pups are back safe and sound
Glad you are back safely Kate! And looking forward to your posts.
Yes, your guest bloggers kept us going. We all need our daily dose of SDA, but ain’t nothin’ like the real thing!!
Welcome back, Kate. Thanks to the other bloggers.
I only have one question.
With 13 dogs in the truck, which one got to stick its head our the window?
Trust all went well, and get well yourself
Welcome back, Kate! As you say, your guest bloggers more than held the fort and kept the home fires burning — but no worries: You’re still #1!
Black Mamba: “Apparently it does something to the blood vessels.”
It opens them up!
Kate, Glad your back. That is a lot of traveling with 13 dogs, do you have passports for all of them? Hope you got a chance to see the PM play the piano!
Welcome home Kate. The piano playing, singing PM was the ONLY news item while you were away. But everything has changed–he’s now considered very sexy and apparently appeals to Canadian women!! I’ve always thought he was gorgeous, so I’m not alone any more.
Welcome back home Kate. No doubt you have noticed that the weather has changed somewhat.
Well, there was a billion dollar scandal in the Ontario government, and McGuinty actually allowed the minister responsible to resign.
