Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our second of three special
Apollo 11
editions of SDA Late Nite Radio. Tonight, for your delectation and pursuant to that singular time in history forty years ago, here is some
documentary coverage, The Eagle Has Landed, and here is the original Man On The Moon, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, & VIII broadcast coverage, as you would have seen it, live, on television, landing on the moon at 20:17 GMT on July 20, 1969, with twenty-five seconds of fuel left, and then setting foot on the surface of the moon, at 02:56 GMT on July 21 1969. And lastly, here is some documentary coverage from the Lunar Ascent at 17:54 GMT later that day.
Your Reader Tips are, as always, welcome in the comments.

And now for a completely unsolicited addition to SDA Late Nite Radio:
A Skeptical Song
(Based on Original Lyrics by Katy Perry, Dr. Luke, Max Martin)
You are consigned
To Al Gore’s changing oaths
You’d tax, CO2
‘thout a twitch
I would know
And you always think
Always speak
Cryptically
You should know
A consensus won’t fool me
Cause it’s hot when it’s cold
the melt and the snow
a flood or a drought
is carbon no doubt
When you’re wrong you rewrite
your facts, up all night
adjust and make up
you won’t give it up
You, You shouldn’t really cap-and-trade, no
You, but you don’t really want to know-o
It’s hot when it’s cold
Sure everyone knows
A flood or a drought
Is carbon no doubt
You want to see
Giant fans
All in sync
And ‘clean’ energy
Like a lead battery
Used to be some trending
Now it’s not warming
Should have known
you’d just call it ‘climate change’
Cause it’s hot when it’s cold
the melt and the snow
a flood or a drought
is carbon no doubt
When you’re wrong you rewrite
your facts, up all night
adjust and make up
you won’t give it up
You, You shouldn’t really cap-and-trade, no
You, but you don’t really want to know-o
It’s hot when it’s cold
Sure everyone knows
A flood or a drought
Is carbon no doubt
Someone call the doctor
Got a confirmation bias
Climate’s like a roller coaster
But that won’t change your mind
You are consigned
To Al Gore’s changing oaths
(Repeat Chorus x2/Bridge)

While the English media further isolates Honduras by parroting Oscar Arias’ Hank Paulsonesque scare-tactics on the Honduran people for them to accept his proposal and the swift rejection of same by the government of Roberto Micheletti, nobody in the media wants to bother translating the apparent deal-breaker for Zelaya (and Chavez).
¡Evidencias!
Selwyn Duke asks, “Can Obama spell ‘failure’?”
A couple of days ago, I complained about Amazon’s clandestine retrieval of e-books they sold to their customers. Yesterday, I discovered a site where you can download completely DRM free works from Toronto author Cory Doctorow. It’s the amusingly named:
craphound.com
I particularly recommend the short novel “Eastern Standard Tribe”. You can read it a few hours, and it’s what I call “near science fiction” – he takes existing technology with maybe just a few tweaks that are certainly possible, and builds a whole fascinating scenario out of it.
BTW, it’s completely free to download it. If you like it, and want to send him some money afterwards, he’s got a link to do that as well. This is an idea I can get behind.
Where is Helen Reddy?
Daniel. Thanks for sharing. An excellent read.
Vitruvius,
Perhaps this is worth a spin on Late Night Radio, in keeping with the anniversary of the Moon Landing

While hippiesque in execution and content the spirit and optimism that this acheivement generated is accurately portrayed. At a time when even acid addled musicians appreciated the work of buttoned down engineers.
b&w pics of the apollo 11 site taken by the LRO satellite. take THAT hoax-claimers.

Curious,
Those ar ewonderful pictures arent they? Won’t help the conspiracists though….photoshopped yada yada….
I love the footprint trail though, so human.
One Small Step…..
Man do i remember that, being glued to our B&W tube seeing that. I was 13 at the time & i think it was late at night. My dad sitting there saying this is an event you will always remember.
Obama is in for a spot of trouble.
His words-““I want to be very clear: I will not sign on to any health plan that adds to our deficits over the next decade.”
Apparently the CBO thinks his view may be just a bit off- “…their health care bill would increase the federal deficit by $239 billion over the next 10 years.”
I am astonished by the blatant lying; when will folks catch on that saying one thing but doing the opposite is a pattern. This shell game might be noticed at some point.
Bueller…..Bueller?
Birth control for ‘wild’ horses. Well most aren’t really ‘wild’ they are in gov’t care. Mark Steyn. We sell ours to France.

Goreacle AGW: Update.
Based upon infodata received from MargoGaddafi’s tent in the Libyan/Sahara desert.
>>> “It could be that an increase in rainfall has caused this effect.*” Could be, yup.
…-
“World’s deserts getting greener despite global warming
Contrary to the assumption that global warming
would cause an expansion of the world’s deserts, some scientists are predicting that water
and life may slowly reclaim these arid places.
According to a report by BBC News, the evidence is limited and definitive conclusions are impossible to reach, but recent satellite pictures of North Africa seem to show areas of the Sahara in retreat.
*It could be that an increase in rainfall has caused this effect.”

I read somewhere that the jungle in Brazil exists because the phosphate rich dust blows off the sahara and flies over the ocean , perhaps we can get a phosphate cap and trade market going as well.
POLICE are almost sure that the remains of a young child found near Woodstock, Ont. today are those of Tori Stafford who was abducted earlier this year.
I tried to express my views on capital punishment on CBC.Ca, however my words were quickly suppressed.
Question: If the Liberals and the CBC (one and the same,) prevent people from expressing their views on capital punishment, how will ever know how many people were for or against it?? And this is a democracy!!
Double whammy. Saharan dust fertilizes the Amazon forest and the Atlantic Ocean.
“Saharan dust is rich in nitrogen, iron and phosphorus and acts as a fertilizer on the production of plankton.”
