The collapse of the reputation of ‘science’ in direct parallel with that of the MSM is, to me, most striking. I was disturbed that even someone as cluey as Megan McArdle is sipping the coolade. For maybe they just…might….be…right.
I am reminded of Government Motors, back when they were General Motors, when they came up against the foreign competition’s greatly improved reliability. They considered it a ‘communications’ (read advertising) challenge instead of a technical challenge and the Saturn project came along too little, too late, and actually proved what GM was trying to disprove, i.e. that GM means junk.
Well, ‘science’ has got a technical problem too – they have to scientifically establish the existence of intolerable carbon in the atmosphere and make scientific predictions of its serious effect on climate and the economy. But it appears they can’t, and their attempts to control thought instead are obvious. Science means junk. Not good. (Need I add “on many, many levels”?)
I think if you look at it openly , the media has always been in the bag for “the powerfull ones” You think they didnt sit around smoking cigars deciding how to spin this or that to the public back in the 30’s or the 50’s,even roman times. Heck it was probably sown up more back then. Makes you look at history differently.
The internet is whats going to change things, dont forget how new it is.

Recently a baseball player (Raul Ibanez) went on a home run tear unlike anything in his career. He was shocked that many reporters and fans were now accusing him of taking steroids. The problem for “clean” baseball players is that they are all now tainted by the cheaters. They silently said nothing when their team mates cheated and now it is coming back to haunt them.
For all of the “scientists” out there your reputations are being ruined by these global warming frauds. It won’t be enough for you to say that your science was “clean” – you will be tainted by the stench of this fraud for a long time.

“Glow Ball Warming” comes from sun cycles, which is a much brighter explanation than the dim bulbs suffocating from CO2 on the brain.
I think we should send all the CO2 disciples on a tree planting exercise, they would breathe so much better as 02 concentrations would be elevated.
At first I thought NSF meant National Shyster’s Foundation, but it turned out that cap n trade meant NSF or “Not Sufficient Funds”.
