Crimes Against Humanity

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
April 17th“A long-sought dossier of Bush-era secrets on the mistreatment of Al Qaeda terror suspects was released yesterday by the Obama administration,”
April 22nd “The press office at Andrews AFB wouldn’t give me the fuel consumption numbers [for Air Force One’s Earth Day flight] without the approval of the White House Press Office, which as I write this has yet to be given.”

36 Replies to “Crimes Against Humanity”

  1. According to CBS news linked to by Drudge, Obama burned more than 9000 gallons of fuel on earth day.

  2. I applaud the releasing of this information from the CIA. It illustrates the mistreatment and torture that was long going on under the Bush regime. CIA was not happy that their dirty laundry was being aired and did everything to prevent it, howver thankfully Obama overruled. The sooner Gitmo is closed the better. The CIA and similar quasi government torture departments has long needed an overhaul and Obama seems determined to do just that. And PLEASE don’t cite national security as a reason for wanting things left as they were.

  3. I cite National Security as a good reason to keep things as they were. There are really bad people and they need to be roughed up a bit to learn what atrocities they have planned. What they would do to thousands of innocents trumps what it might take to prevent it. There are way to many pussies in this world who side for the worst people on Earth!

  4. “And PLEASE don’t cite national security as a reason for wanting things left as they were.”
Gawd, no way! After all, the images of planes flying into LA skyscapers is so much more palatable isn’t it? Transparency, right before your eyes.

  5. Beating the sh#t outta someone is a terrific way of getting at the truth. Too bad they didn’t do it in front of the other detainees. Then executed a few by firing squad. Great motivator for the others to
    spew their guts.

  6. Islamists roughing up Canadian diplomats = abuse.
Americans roughing up Islamists = torture.

  7. T and atric – I support national security. Indeed, I consider it the ethical and legal duty of my government to support the security of its citizens. If it refuses to do that, it has no right to be our government.
IF we are dealing with terrorists, thugs essentially, who are committed to our mass destruction and who are equally committed to their own death in this endeavour, then we have no choice but to protect ourselves from this evil agenda.
If this requires brutal treatment of them, to protect our citizens from the horrendous actions, then – this is the choice THEY have made and have put on us.
If you, with your sentimental mantra of false moral superiority, insist that we must not gather this information about their attacks on us – in the only way that will work – and instead, allow the attacks to take place – then you are to blame for the deaths of these thousands.

  8. Wonder if Obammasiah will release the memos and pictures from the activities done under Slick Willy Clinton’s regime ? After all, Bush was just continuing Clinton’s Policies & Procedures.
Wonder if single cell types like “T” are able to process that type of data. Probably not.
Cognitive dissonance is a prime characteristic of simplistic life forms.
Wonder if Slick Willy told Hillary ?
    Or maybe Paula ?

  9. Amazing how quickly people forget. In the aftermath of 9/11 those low lifes of today were hiding in their basements. Now they have screwed up enough courage to backstab those that ensured the safety of N.America. Using their logic WWII would have been lost by those who had to face eveil with whatever it took to survive!

  10. Well……..
….remember these creeps suffer from diminished capacity……
They also advocate leagalising whacky tobacci….

  11. Releasing photos will:
    a) Violate the Geneva Conventions because photos of prisoners aren’t supposed to be released to the public
    b) Blow the cover of intelligence operatives who are present with the prisoners

  12. *
    more (less successful) juxtapostion…
last night on his show, jon stewart tried to draw an equivalence
between the japanese military in wwII doing uniformly fatal
    medical experimentation on american pows
    … and
waterboarding khalid sheihk muhammed to stop a mass
    casualty terrorist attack.
yeah sure… that’s exactly the same thing.

  13. Let’s think blame and guilt it all, to Muslim or Islam relgion and take your soul free and keep peace of mind of illution of think you know it all
Some people or group never understood easy
or too smart or too dump can clash together
clash and crisis can be diff opionion or culture or relgion or simple different views or gender different or professional or ordinary who look at this problems and every think may know solution for all problems and they are right and other who are different with them are wrong
with absolute period at end of sentence
black and white yes or NO answer
Islamphobia or hate toward Muslim are mix with what some like or dislike and force to them are similar while they may not can
stuburn to not change of both sides made solution and even any negotition next to imposible
    as you know,
Gifted are groups who know or warn problems before arise and if they focus know more than smart or average or normal people
Hire some gifted people to save Canada from so many problems
Upgrade gifted school rather than spoil them and their talent end up like Britney sprit in drug used children teenager talent and gifted toward better
If you put gifted person near dump people they will get crazy and they are not understood people too while if you give them too many data to analyze they can analyze it better in certain area
Gifted are not good communicator or nice personality people but they can resolve problems faster by data given to them and grow them

  14. If you think waterboarding, sleep deprivation, white noise exposure, positional stress exercises, humiliation, etc. are torture, you are naive.
If those methods have been used to great effect and have stopped terrorist attacks, I say more of the same please.
In case you’re interested, torture as practiced by our enemies include, but are not limited to: electric shock, eye gouging, finger mutilation, teeth extraction, crushed testicles, fingernail pulling, thumb screw crushing, forced ingestion of motor oil, whipping with electric cables, skull compression, electric shocking of genitals, submersion, driving nails into skull, finger amputation, acid sprays, hot lead in the ear canal, cutting off of the nose, tongue and lips, nailing breasts to tables, cutting the nipple away from the breast, insertion of steel or wooden rods in anus or vagnina…
These are but some of the documented methods our enemies employ to extract information, or to inflict pain before they dispatch their enemies.
That’s the reality of the situation..you can fight fire with fire, or watch more people in the west (maybe your own friends or family)die horribly because you were not hard enough when it counted.
How do the families of those murdered by the 30+ former Gitmo detainees (now back in the fight) feel? None of these men should have been allowed to ever enter society …ever. They were released because some believe it is better to be soft and err on the side of caution.I say you err on the side of caution by giving the terrorists a 9mm Tylenol, and placing their head on a stick for the rest to see.

  15. Okay, first of all, equating flying on Earth Day with torture is about as stupid as you can get. Compare apples with staplers why don’t you?
“If you think waterboarding, sleep deprivation, white noise exposure, positional stress exercises, humiliation, etc. are torture, you are naive.”
So then you are saying that the infamous Hanoi Hilton was nothing more than a resort I guess? Will you sign a petition to clear the names of the Japanese interrogators charged with war crimes for using exactly the same tactics during WWII?
I know, I know… you’ve listed a number of other horrific things that are very clearly much worse, but how do we know that Americans didn’t use these as well? Abu Ghraib anyone? How many torture victims died at the hands of sadistic Americans? Americans who it is clear now, were acting on orders.
I guess we’ll see when the latest batch of photos comes out.
Better get a good night’s sleep kids, you’ll be spinning like crazy the next few days.

  17. The Travails of O’McCarthy, the witch hunter.
O is thinly walking: “While Obama struggles to calibrate the matter,”
Tail-Gunner Joe O’McCarthy is either goin’ to have a witch hunt or not.
Joe McCarthy, Republican, had a witch hunt for Reds; he succeeded in unmasking dozens.
    Go ahead O; launch/calibrate a witch hunt.
    Forget the Dem senators.
Forge ahead into the future: “vindictive and backward-looking, undermining Obama’s image as a forward-looking figure of hope and progress” with AssPress leading The Way.
    …-
“Analysis: Obama walks thin line on interrogations
By CHARLES BABINGTON – 1 hour ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama, facing perhaps the trickiest political issue of his young presidency, is trying to appease his liberal base without losing control of a potentially volatile inquiry into George W. Bush administration’s use of harsh interrogation tactics against terrorism suspects.
One step to the left or right could land him in political trouble.
If Obama seems inclined to stifle an investigation and possible prosecution of Bush administration officials who approved rough interrogations by the CIA, he may infuriate liberal activists who were crucial to his election. But if Democratic lawmakers appear too zealous in pursuing departed GOP government officials, they might be portrayed as vindictive and backward-looking, undermining Obama’s image as a forward-looking figure of hope and progress.
While Obama struggles to calibrate the matter, Republicans sense a possible gap in his armor and an uncharacteristic shakiness in his message.”

  18. ET- What I wrote was NOT sarcasm. I meant every word of it. Please don’t lump me in with the T’s of this world.

  19. T & Atric
Someone said “Never bring a hyena to a baboon fight”. If defeating Islamic terrorism is our goal, we will have to use tactics that are effective. There is nothing immoral or unjust in eradicating evil. What is immoral, is allowing evil to fester and spread when it’s within your power to oppose it; whether you can defeat it or not.
I think you two are probably being a little disingenuous with us here. I think that perhaps both/either of you don’t believe there is a terrorist threat to America and Canada. Do you believe that Islamic terrorism is a threat to America/Canada and our way of life? If not, then why not just say so? Why go through the dance, when I suspect that we’re not even listening the same song?

  20. again turture them
and only when you see MUSLIM terrorist
and not other criminal who may kill
    100 mass murder
that is not exception you can choose
this is law must do it all to all criminal
    while I heard in Canada
police do turture criminal and if they saw they are Muslim they did more bother them
by take their scarf of women
or hold them walk in dirty cold with no shoes only the person was Muslim
or hold them in cell cold by watch them how to use washroom
if the person is murderer criminal
it does not matter when you find that
criminal in street or in war zone
if you allow to turture them then you must to do this law for all not for who ever
    for because you hate Muslim
Obama is right to this matter
plust who care about Dick cheny and Bush
reall made up story of sep 11
    who belive them
who is going to turture cheny to find
real turth from them if that is legal right in USA still????
Is anybody even queston him without any turture to fidn
who was behind killing 6000 men and women and Muslim and chrisitian civilized in sep 11
is any way they can find them
can they put them to truth machine to machine and computre can identify they are tell the truth or lie
Please do not put this to Muslim head
    plus in my experince experience
like Oklaham city or kind of terrorist acitivied is all over the world and nobody can predict who where to whom it may happend
while seek the truth must be act reasonable
not under hate crime to not allow innocent go under chamber of turture
turture is wrong method to find truth
becaus in fact like Gazafi and Bush or Cuba country or similar in china and etc we heard are
less likly look for truth to turture their prison they did for fun and sickness of their heart
conclusion turture must get stop and
people should not resist in front of police or authority when they want to get arrested and must cooperate fully because they go to more trouble otherwise
people who enjoy suffer and turture peopel must seek pschco doctor first before save countries and we are not look for sick authority we are look for real turth

  21. New/whatever…Learn ENGLISH.You deny 9/11 was an Islamist terrorist act? You deluded fool.
John..all the Japanese interrogators who were charged did much more than the softball ‘torture’ I mentioned. That’s called coercion.
There are degrees to coercion before you cross the line in force to full on torture. Some Japanese were found guilty and dealt with. Some were not, for various reasons too lengthy to get into here.
If you have evidence that American forces tortured to death Iraqi citizens or soldiers, please provide the proof. If that happened, which I doubt, they will be dealt with.

  22. O’s Witch Hunt.
TimesUK agrees: O’McCarthy has launched a witch hunt.
Joe McCarthy knew his witches/wizards were Reds; some in the open Communist Party (CPUSA); others were in the underground CPUSA.
Joe O’McCarthy’s quarry are all Republicans.
    …-
“Condoleezza Rice dragged into torture memo row as Obama’s plan spins out of control
    Times UK
A week has passed since President Obama set a train in motion with the publication of secret memos to justify harsh interrogations by the CIA, and the White House appears to have lost control over its ultimate destination.
On the Left, human rights groups — at home and abroad — are clamouring for criminal prosecutions of those involved in designing or implementing the policy. In Congress, many top Democrats are vocally demanding the establishment of a truth commission even though an inquiry by the Senate Intelligence Committee is already under way.”

  23. Good grief. A witchhunt is when you imagine that there are people out there trying to do you harm, and you proceed to roundup those who might be remotely sympathetic to the cause you hate. In this case, it appears that we have a number of officials who brazenly broke American and international law. There is enough evidence to proceed with further investigation to see if any laws were broken. Don’t like it? Move to North Korea.
The US under Reagan (remember him?) signed the UN Convention against torture. In part it states:
” Having regard to Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, both of which provide that no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
Having regard also to the Declaration on the Protection of All Persons from Being Subjected to Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, adopted by the General Assembly on 9 December 1975.
Desiring to make more effective the struggle against torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment throughout the world.”
Back then, you losers would have screamed bloody murder if somebody read to you the list of techniques used by Americans, but told you they were committed by the Soviets on an American. That you can’t see this is sad.
Too bad Kate probably won’t post this like so many other things I write. I guess she hates the freedom.

  24. Kursk,
How’s about the case of a young Afghan national named Dilawar who was allegedly subjected to the following:
    * A black hood pulled over his head limiting his ability to breathe
    * Knee strikes to the abdomen
    * Over 100 peroneal (a nerve behind the kneecap) strikes
    * Shoved against a wall
    * Pulled by his beard
    * His bare feet stepped on
    * Kicks to the groin
    * Chained to the ceiling for extended hours, depriving him of sleep
    * Slammed his chest into a table front
An American military pathologist found that the cause of his death was from blunt-force injuries. The muscles in his legs had become pulpified.
Of the three soldiers who murdered him, one went to jail for two months. The other two got off scott free. And clearly, it looks from these memos that these weren’t merely a few bad apples. The whole tree appears to be rotten.

  25. his name can easy find among Muslim
Omar and khadr is popular name used
    his face can barly recognized
and he still growing boy can his face get change within two more years
and what may barly can recognize him in public
    what is important
    http://www.daylife.com/topic/Omar_Khadr
we have million of teenager in world crime as victim or accused how to deal with them is main issue now is out of hand of normal people
those kid are not normal kid and need spciall take care too
    I learn from this story
how body in pieces can products of all wars is
and how in war can kill anybody for anything for any reasons
sending bomb and mines and all devices
can not find who is guilty who is innocent and
drop gun in air for fun
this is not funny at all to me
the lesson is how teenager can get misused or get victim or they get advantage of cicumstances or we can get fool by them
clash of Muslim tell thier child in home be good and go outside of home and act some other personality or vice versa who is responsible
majority of teenager are not learn from family they learn from environment around them
think it this way there is always a chance the person under turture can get release it is better
to not add more spice to mind of criminal and made them to worse criminal by made them more hate
prison is not fun place to go and this is used to be used for place for punish people for correct socity not to revenge them or turture them
what is point to gain information from prisoars
now all militry devices can easy find out
where each person live and what activites tehy do that kind of turture used when technology was up to date as we see now
there is not even need for turture in todays date all computer and radar and intellegent can find it better ways
toruture used for bully old men in militray that not know better ways and grow up with old ways
some are have sadism who enjoy suffer people cry and go under pain are mentally ill too

  26. The photos I saw were of humiliation. That is a different animal than torture. Torture is when they pull out your fingernails, insert a glass tube in your pecker and smashing it with a hammer, beating someone with a board with a nail in it etc etc. See the difference? One disorients and weakens resolve, the other hurts a lot.

  27. We didn’t torture Germans and Japanese in WWII, weren’t they a threat?
They made torture illegal for reason. It doesn’t work and makes you look bad.
McCain said waterboarding was torture. Who the hell can disagree with him? A guy who was doing his duty. To the North Vietnamese he was inhuman, they wanted to torture him. We all agree that was terrible. So for goodness sakes listen to him. It’s no good, no matter who is doing it and why.

  28. McCain was tortured no doubt he knows more about that than I do. Seals, pilots and Special Forces are waterboarded as a toughning up process to resist until your buds get away and they say it works. I respect Mr. McCain but as he also recently said the 9/11 guys came through Canada, he can be wrong.

  29. Speedy: “Mr. McCain but as he also recently said the 9/11 guys came through Canada, he can be wrong.”
—-> True, but that is a matter of being uninformed. I’d say he was informed when it comes to torture.

  30. That’s quite a pic of Sweet Cheeks. What is he grabbing for? Glad I’m not right in front of him.

  31. homez, tolerating evil is indeed a great evil. the only way to get rid of evil is to kill it by any means possible. killing evil doesn’t may one evil.
