Kate… one must be careful when saying anything positive about MK as WK may interpret this and post your comment on his web site. He has been trolling for anything positive….
But of course we know, he hates you and would never do this eh!
And, yes, the Adler editorial is one of his best, but I didn’t see WK pick it up…
Can’t wait until the Conservatives tell Ignatieff that the dog ate their report.
Ignatieff will then no doubt put them on “double secret probation”.
As much as I dont like Mulcair I must admit I like the line about Iggy not being able to collect CPP because he hadnt worked in Canada.
iggy did what iggy had to do. An election would have defeated the purpose of his replacing dion and the liberal party is still in no state to fight no matter what they say.
Question is will Iggy enforce his will on his NFld MP’s…next Hobson’s choice.
Listened to Addler on his rant about Iggy. He hit high gear and then to top it off he had on Layton.
Swallow the bitter pills Iggy & Layton because you will never see the front office.
Ignatieff operates as a Sovereign, a Ruler by Divine Right. He views parliament as ‘His’ and treats the actual government, equally, as ‘His’.
The FACT that the Conservatives are, by the Will of the People, the legal government, is ignored by a Sovereign, who ignores party boundaries and considers ALL political parties as ‘riff raff’ under his rule.
So, he tells His Government that they are ‘on probation’ and must report to him, the Sovereign.
This ignores the fact that Harper’s budget already included in it, a requirement for regular reports to parliament on the effectiveness of the budget and a notation that changes could be made dependent on results.
After all, the MSM doesn’t bother to read the budget; they ignore that this updating to parliament was already there, p. 72, which declares that over the spring and summer of 2009, the govt will be implementing the measures and a report will be provided in the summer and the first week following the summer recess.
Many people in Canada prefer a Sovereign type of leader, in an authoritative, top down centralist nanny state. Why? Because that’s been the norm and is a key ‘personality’ quirk of both Ontario and Quebec. However, this authoritarianism has been changing with the introduction to Canada of the West, a people who are far more individualistic and entrepreneurial, and who don’t take well to centralist authoritarian governance from Sovereigns in Ottawa. And, with the internet, which has finally given The People the power to talk back to those pompous Sovereigns in centralist Canada and the MSM.
Ignatieff is from the Old Generation of centralist Sovereigns. Canada is slowly changing its infrastructure to empower its citizens and Ignatieff doesn’t represent this new mode.
1) Michael Ignatieff decided to support Stephen Harper’s Conservative government the day after he announced a budget that contained just enough lard and red ink to gain the support of the Liberal Party.
Actually, Iggy decided to support the budget the second he had a look at the Liberal party finances.
Ignatieff must be checking his hide today!
Thank you, Charles Adler.
One media type who can step back from the koolaid, unlike Don Newman, who yesterday talked about Canadians wanting to be a part of Obama’s “reflected glory”.
That was a brilliant piece by Charles Adler. If we didn’t have our talk radio guys giving us the straight goods, we would be screwed. Because CBC and CTV sure don’t.
Thank God someone gets it.
CanPress runs with Taliban Jack’s ad: Iggy “not a leader”.
Where did NDP get that line?
From PM Harper, ‘course.
PM Harper is a master politician; even the left apes/copies/plunders his tactics.
Has the left ever had an original thought/idea? The left are thieves, as usual.
…-
“OTTAWA – The NDP is trying to do to Michael Ignatieff what the Conservatives did to Stephane Dion – convince voters he’s weak, ineffectual and not a leader.”

Did I read this correctly? Kate supports Ignatieff?!
Monsieur de Moliere….
I am writing to you regarding this grotesque character of yours Ignatieff. We don’t have stage big enough for his ego.
Ignatieff and Obama, North America’s benevolent dictators.NABD for short.
The big O just announced some more executive orders. Does he plan to rule by dictatorship. What does he have a congress or senate for.
And this is the guy canadians are gaga for.
Poor Iggy will not be in the spotlight when the one makes his short trip of a couple of hours to Canada.
Iggy yesterday asking the PM what/why he didn’t see this coming re Buy American only.
He only announced that in the morning. But, many of us knew it was coming, going back to the NAFTA scuffo during the debates in the US.
So, when do all the jobs go back south.
Aah Kate … they are all pompus twits.
The Cons have been on probation since they took office.
And Harper is no bully with a minority.
It’s Chretien and three straight majorities!
Iggy reminds me of a dinosaur for some reason, I think they should paint him red and stick him in some odd location in Drumheller.
Kate wasn’t saying anything at all positive about Iggy, she was suggesting that ‘pompous twit’ is a better description of him than ‘abandoner’.
Let’s just crown this guy King of Toronto and get it over with. All hail the King of Toronto.
‘great pompous twit’…
the silly bugger is play acting….he’s trying on the role of ‘prime minister’…..’leader’….’daddy’….’parole officer’….’hall monitor’…
he ‘s trying to manufacture an image but in my humble estimation it’s as believable as joe clark’s(shit be upon him) act trying to make me believe he was a mean mother….
Gormley had a good comment about the probation threat by count igula. He said something like, aren’t there already liberals on probation for adscam?
Pretty funny.
“The NDP is trying to do to Michael Ignatieff what the Conservatives did to Stephane Dion – convince voters he’s weak, ineffectual and not a leader.”
Yes, maz2; Layton, not satisfied with turning NDP votes into Conservative, now wants to turn Liberal voters into Conservatives.
Well, look at it as a Liberal Parole Board. We’ll let you go and if it doesn’t put you out or you know you kinda feel like it, give us a call and for ????? sake don’t go killing people. That makes us look bad.
I have a great budget idea. Let’s turn the Canadian Firearms Centre into a big box store and the Firearms Registry into a system for birthday, wedding and Christmas gifts! That way, the money pit can turn a profit.
No, I think Kate was literally communicating her support for Iggy.
First American Prime Minister? Iggy?
We already have Harper. Iggy would be the second American Prime Minister.
IGGY the most arrogant asshole I have ever seen. With 19% of the vote and to say that HE is putting the government on “probation” is unbelievable. Were I PMSH I’d refuse to produce any report and DARE the arrogant ass to force an election. The coalition is dead, should Iggy dissagree with PMSH there will be an election, not a coalition, and the liberals cannot afford an election. Push him to the limit, keep his back to the wall.
