  1. Do you mean to tell me that there are that many Canadian Conservatives in Canada?”
Yeah, we’re all pot-smoking hippies up here welcoming draft-dodgers, commies and anyone that hates the US.
We also export cold weather and poutine. It’s all part of the master plan.

  2. “Do you mean to tell me that there are that many Canadian Conservatives in Canada?”
    You Betcha!

  3. What you mean you have to be Conservative to enjoy and/or lurk at SDA? Just as ‘new’ and company.

  4. Way to go Kate!
And we are second (behind the Mohammedans) in infiltrating the American system.

  5. One more proof that they don’t pay attention to our elections…
Heh…he assumes only Canadians are voting for Kate.

  6. Judging by the resective federal elections the answer would be (a very qualified) “yes”.

  7. “Do you mean to tell me that there are that many Canadian Conservatives IN Canada?” No, we’re all expats, holed up in various parts of the world, having been driven out by the socialists. There’s actually more than 5.2 million of us, judging by the results of the last election. Go Kate !

  8. This Texan-American is voting for K-Mc at every opportunity, but it appears to be a losing cause. (700 or so votes behind at last check.)
You Canadians can’t seem to get organized and focused on ANYTHING. With the American vote split among numerous blogs, this out to be an easy win, but I would bet you’re going to blow it.
I was afraid this would happen. Lots of enthusiasm at the start, but then it falls off as everyone goes to the hockey rink or gets drunk or plays tiddlywinks or something. Pretty pitiful.

  9. Hey Texan, I resent that remark.I have voted for Kate everyday and besides I don’t go to hockey games.I would vbote more bu they won”t let me!

  10. Kate,
I came across a comment (competetive U.S. blogger?) that clained in the owner’s comments, to have discovered a loophole in the present voting system that permits multiple votes within the 24 hours. I had a power failure, lost the page and do not seem to find it now. If you email me, I’ll give you a heads up.

  11. texan: “You Canadians can’t seem to get organized and focused on ANYTHING. With the American vote split among numerous blogs, this out to be an easy win, but I would bet you’re going to blow it.”
Hold on one cotton-pickin’ minute. Do you realize that to your 330,000,000, we’ve got a population of 33,000,000?
I think we Canadians are doing a damned good job of holding up our end. Ace of Spades, given the discrepancy between our respective populations, should be ahead by 7000 votes not 700.
Put that in your corn cob pipe and smoke it!

  12. Oh, now I get it, texan. You’re trying to rile us up, so more of us will be motivated to vote for Kate.
    ‘Hope it works! 😉

  13. Sadly, Mr Ace – if thats his real name…. has had to resort to importing Japanese hooters to promote his turgid little website.
Does ‘ Made in America ’ not ring true anymore ?! – Japanese ? Not even Mexican boobs…
And you call yourself a conservative Mr Ace of Spades? And how be it if from now on we just call you Mr ‘Two of Clubs’ then instead, eh?

  14. Do you realize that to your 330,000,000, we’ve got a population of 33,000,000?
Here come the whiners with their excuses.

  15. When I met my wife she was a church worker in Moose Jaw…so, yes, I do know there are many fine conservatives in Canada. And the more blogs like SDA expose Canadians to true conservative thought the more Canadians will discover that they have been systematically lied to by the press.
    Good luck!

One of our friends in Toronto is a draft-dodging Commie, honest! But as a Can-Okie I’m doing my best to import Canadian values down here. I have a curling rock as a front door-stop and we’re having poutine for lunch tomorrow. Donations of cans from Tim Horton’s have been gratefully welcomed from fellow Canucks travelling down here.

and do it by time frame fast before it is too late

  18. Using the logic of 330,000,000 to 30,000,000, one might expect proportionate equality like:
8,888 to 888. What we have is 8,888 to 8,234, or 9 times more, not just 700 points. Kate leads by 7,500 population weighted points at this moment, if a country’s population is the deciding factor, as the card is played by Ace.

  19. (Aizlynne lobs a plate of poutine at Texan from behind her Niagara Falls turret).
    Vive la SDA libre!

  20. Kate leads by 7,500 population weighted points at this moment . . .
I see. What you’re after is “virtual” win, rather than an “actual” win. That’s pussy stuff.

  21. BTW Texan,
We want to see Kate beat Ace, because her output is brilliantly superior. Ace wants to beat Kate, because he’s a part of a larger population base, really a pretty lame reason to vote for Ace over SDA. But isn’t this all in fun and about the imemnse pleasure and information we get from the blogosphere all year long? Go, Kate, go.

  22. Hey “new”….here’s a little 4 word sing-song to help practise your English. Just promise to speak loudly and cleared in a crowded place OK..here’s the words…..hoof hearted eyes melted.

  23. texan, if that’s your real name, you must be wishing you’re a Canadian, and one living in Texas North. I think that’s Pincher Creek or Devon. We have bigger (and Biggar).

  24. They won’t let me vote till after midnight. Sure hope there are an abundance of Conservatives in this country, we need all the help we can get. With SDA I am sure we are recruiting more.

  25. I think you’re up against an anything but SDA race Kate or this really has turned into a USA vs Canada thing. Either way it’s lame and hard to compete against.

  26. Kate, you go girl,
Yes we have conservatives, lots of them, skads of them, many many many.
Yhe leftards up here call us Neocons, in their minds, sort of a KKK lite.

  27. As my Daddy used to say: Number two just means your the first loser.
So lets pull out the stops, & start voting.
We already know the Ace has something up his sleeve.

  28. Indeed, one by one, American conservatives are coming to realize that Canada is actually Canada, not “Soviet Canuckistan”, and that not everyone is an Ameriphobic Leftist moron up here.
We elected what the Leftists up here painted as a “hard right” Conservative government instead of a “Liberal” government. That should tell Americans something.
In fact, Canada, as I’ve had real American conservatives agree, is just like America, if one can see beyond the differences. We’re pretty much the same, demographically, with some differences, but the mainstream is largely moderately conservative in both countries, with a robust, large-enough-to-make-a-difference, rock-ribbed right-wing and a swing-voting, confused, moderate-to-right-but-sometimes-Leftist-by-mistake “centrist” wing comprising the mainstream. Then there’s the Hard Left, which has overtaken the once-long-long-ago-moderate-mainstream Liberal Party and repulsed the mainstream away to the Conservatives.
You folks down south? What happened? How did you get that Leftist elected against all odds? Are y’all sure you’re a more-conservative nation than Canada? C’mon- think about it…. we’ve got a Conservative government now and you’ve got a liberal one… whazzup, eh?
Yes, my righty Yankee friends, we’re here, we’re right, too, and we want to get to know you. We’re really the same, see? C’mon… sit… have a beer and we’ll chew the fat and make fun of liberals, ‘k?

  29. just got back from the “ass of space” and every second thread is about fooooosballl. Well. Frozen water and fighting fits better at this time of year, so i guess “case of flakes”.

  30. “In fact, Canada, as I’ve had real American conservatives agree, is just like America, if one can see beyond the differences.”
Agreed, though I’d never say that because, well, I wouldn’t want to sit through yet one more of those tirades. But you can’t blame us much for holding the stereotype of Canadians being a bunch of peaceniks; it’s what we see in the media.
And one of Ace’s guest bloggers is a hockey fan, as am I and a number of commenters. US hockey fans are crazy nuts, and at least in icy climes, there are more of us than you might think. The next time you watch a Pens game in Mellon, see if you can see any empty seats, and good luck finding them. I even follow a couple of Canadian teams.
Love football too, of course. Go Steelers!

  31. Watch it with the Steers & Queers jokes there Phil, or I’ll sic the CHRC on y’all. Steers are an identifiable visible minority and as such are deemed worthy of special attention.
Ain’t nothin’ wrong with being a Texan. My time down there was among the best times ever and as such it is reflected in my Texas Canuck handle and I’m proud to show it. Besides, Texas can almost be considered Alberta South with better bbq and beaches.
