Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Why would any of the actions the CHRC displays surprise anybody at any time. They should all be fired.
Pure Paranoia. As a members of Stormfront, how else would they view the world?
WAKE UP CALL!
FIRE THEM ALL!
Get on the phone to ALL conservative MP’s offices and snail mail directly to PM Harper.
Today, while the issue is not overshadowed by the shrinking RRifs.
A world that john agrees with. I’m sure he’d agree with NWT gulags and people with ideological differences disappearing in the night as well.
How about a little water-boarding john? That now sounds good doesn’t it?
The HRC gestapo are obviously scared and have good reason to be. They are bringing about their own demise and hopefully, incarceration.
I don’t know what Free Dominion’s problem is. Many government agencies have high security. Revenue Canada is another one of them. I don’t agree with the HRC but let’s face it a lot of nut cases waltz in the front door looking for their 5 minutes of fame.
I personally keep all kinds of files on people and companies. They’re nobody’s business except my own. If she wants to exercise the FIA then get a lawyer and good luck.
Uh oh Kate…you put their addy up…now everyone that walks by 344 Slater St. will been viewed as suspicious…!
Unbelievable! It reads like a script from a novel on Russia circa 1960.
The CHRC staff are afraid of ordinary Canadians being smarter than them.
Who is really paranoid john?
It is beginning to look as though our elected representatives are AFRAID of the CHRC. Now why might that be?
not stirred…they weren’t afraid of anonymous nut cases…they were afraid of the Fournier’s.
It is our government, and they did have an appointment, they are Canadians.
As for the 5 minutes of fame comment…I think you have some reading to catch up on.
Hey Irwin, I think you may have misunderstood John’s post. I believe he was referring to employees of the CHRC that are members of Stormfront.
Looks like the socialist/fascist organizations have improved their look. Softer, warmer.
In the seventies of the past century, the communist run offices had iron bars on each floor, today they have glass, they make it seem so gentle to you.
Once you got to the next level in their bunker, the doors were padded with 4” of soundproof material, so you could not hear their schemes. Now that the CHRC know maybe they will improve their bunker too.
It is amazing, rather sense of disbelief how the employees of the people of this country are making their damnest best to shackle the freedom of the very people they are supposed to serve. Question is, who needs them and what exactly is their service.
Unfortunately the current or any Canadian government does not have the moral courage to cancel them out.
Next time Connie and Mark visit the imperial castle, they should bring Mr. Kafka with them. Only he could have a full understanding of the fears and motivations of its denizens.
“Men will be what the state in which they live makes them”
Forty years of crooked Liberal state corporatism (ie fascism) has left an impression on Canadians.
Thank you Mr Demarais.
It’s odd because the CHRC is subject to the federal Access to Information Act (it’s not called the Freedom of Information Act). If you send in an access request, it should be fielded by the ATIA Coordinator, and you should have a response of either yes or no or we’re releaseing some of the docs within 30 days. If they don’t respond within 30 days, you can make a complaint to the Federal Information Commissioner of a deemed refusal.
Then the IC advocates on your behalf (sort of) to at least get you an answer. Good luck.
They do need some security because their mission seems to be to financially ruin and assassinate the character of powerless citizens. But didn’t they also have Steyn followed around by an officer when he appeared at the BC HRC trial? Was it for his protection or theirs?
So maybe it is indeed paranoia. They are isolated from normal society, surrounded by like-minded staff and have access to material that confirms their fears about the abundance violent radical Canadians in their midst. It sounds like a bunch of kids at a sleepover scaring themselves with bogeyman stories. A department in desperate need of adult intervention.
Thanks lynnh! You pegged it!
Worth a read is Editorial in National Post today:
“Kill section 13″.
As well, in same edition of National Post In ‘Letters’ David B Harris writes under headline”Elmasry’s words”.
Harris is director, International and Terrorist Intelligence Program, ISIGNIS Strategic Research Inc., Ottawa.
I’m not surprised. When was the last time you went to an RCMP office? When the only people in Canada with guns have to hide behind bullet proof glass in our communities, we are done as a civilization.
Seems strange they only met with her by telephone, compared to other government departments.
I’ve dealt with Canada Revenue Agency for years. If you have an appointment with an officer, you actually get to meet with them face to face. I always have the option to put in an access to information request to get their working papers, although the auditor has always done a good enough job of explaining his logic and interpretation of the rules for me to win at appeals. (The appeals officers are actually rather professional.)
These fascists all seem to have the names down pat for every occasion. Deborah Cansick . Can anyone here name someone better, who is a totalitarian Inquisitors bureaucrats . There is some sort of cosmic synchronicity here it seems.
“I’m not surprised. When was the last time you went to an RCMP office?”
Last summer. Walked in and sat down across the desk from the officer to file my complaint.
Canadian Liberals need to give their heads a shake. Can you imagine the national stink that would follow if the situation were reversed, if these tribunals were full of right-wing ideologues giving sympathy to conservative activists who wanted to shut down Rabble or tie up people like Kinsella and Warman in mounds of red tape and lawfare?
The CBC would be all over it. Kevin Newman would die of earnestness. Lloyd Robertson would jolt back to life. We would hear nothing but new updates about “CHRC workers under siege from the Liberal blogosphere” … you know, I’m kind of talking myself into liking the idea a bit.
No I’m not.
Freedom of speech is freedom of speech, either it applies to everyone, or to no one. This b.s. has gone on long enough. The real issue is not that Connie and Mark can’t get their files, the real issue is that anyone in the government should see fit to “investigate” Free Dominion, or for that matter possibly SDA, Ezra Levant, the Knights of Columbus, the guys at the Legion, Tim Horton’s, Canadian Tire … the list of subversives will eventually be the whole country except for the people on Warren Kinsella’s speed-dial.
What’s the point of it all? Punishing people for not meekly accepting political correctness.
What’s the remedy? Fire. them. all. And arrest some of them for breaking the real law.
