27 Replies to “Bush Should Step Down Now”

  1. Yeah, and Carter should have stepped down to let Reagan take control to deal with the hostages, and Ford should have stepped down to let Carter take over because…well…because he was Ford, etc etc etc.
If they don’t want to have this period of “lame duck” presidencies then they need to make another amendment that applies to *all* outgoing presidents. Remember, there was a time that new presidents did not come into office until March 20 – could you imagine these people waiting that long for his holiness Barack to take the oath?

  2. Why what else would you expect from our “NEW” nation of Venezuerica?
Soon all opposition will “UNIFY” with my way of thinking.
    Or else.

  3. Thanks for the link! I thought it was a little shady that someone who doesn’t hold office yet already “has a 75% approval rating” – obviously not a problem anymore now that he holds office. Right?

  4. someone told me that if Obama dies before Dec 15, Biden does not step into the next in line shoes, but Bush gets a third term.
any US constitutional types out there??
hate to create a conspiracy before the Dems can, well actually I dont.

  5. Obama is also illegally using the .gov suffix for his “change” web site.
There have also been two moonbat women, one a NYT‘s columnist (not Dowd) and a TV commentator, wanting the same, unconstitutional act of Obama taking over right now. (From HotAir and Newsbusters.)

  6. “Section 3 of the 20th Amendment provides that if the President-elect dies before his or her term begins, the Vice President-elect becomes President on Inauguration Day and serves for the full term to which the President-elect was elected. The section also provides that if, on Inauguration Day, a president has not been chosen or the President-elect does not qualify for the presidency, the Vice President acts as president until a president is chosen or the President-elect qualifies. Finally, Section 3 allows the Congress to provide by law for cases in which neither a President-elect nor a Vice President-elect is eligible or available to serve.”*

  7. the Obamamessiah is dropping the change motto.
As Dennis Miller pointed out, “Obama is saying “change” more than the homeless guy on the avenue”

  8. Cal2:
    From Slate:
The 20th Amendment states that if the president-elect dies before beginning his term, then the vice president-elect assumes his or her spot. However, the point at which a candidate officially becomes “president-elect” is debatable. He or she definitely assumes the title after Jan. 6, when a joint session of Congress officially counts the Electoral College votes and declares a winner. But the shift could be said to occur immediately after the Electoral College vote.

    Cheers,

  9. Blogging has definitely ‘jumped the shark’. The concept that Bush should step down is as ridiculous and preposterous as the declaration of victory in Iraq.
Bloggers should stick to reporting news and avoid the MSM folly of trying to create news.

  10. Of course, the talking heads would scream for Dick Cheney to resign, then we’d have Pelosi as the POTUS.
    Scary.

  11. They, somebody, someone, or whatever sure want the Camelot experience to start asap eh?
The whole show is just pathetic.

  12. thanks folks.
I will pass this on to my source.
it would appear that the counting of the electoral votes would be the official date , I believe there is one instance when the electoral college did not go strictly with the will of voters, but Im at a loss to know how to google it.
so if obama were to die of lung cancer before the vote, the choice would be for the electoral college to choose Biden or ask for a Dion redo.

  13. Is there nothing Obama can’t do?
Has he walked on Water yet? or fed the Masses?
    Dont answer that kate.

  14. cal2, there has only been one occasion when the winner of the electoral college vote did not become president: 1824. Andrew Jackson won a plurality, but not a majority, of the EC vote; there were 5 candidates that year so there was a lot of vote-splitting. The election was therefore thrown to the House of Representatives, which voted for John Quincy Adams.
Jackson won the rematch in 1828.
There have been a couple of occasions where the EC winner was not the winner of the popular vote, 2000 of course being the most recent, but that’s a result of the structure of the EC. It in no way means the EC does “not go strictly with the will of voters”.

  15. If the president elect is arrested for high treason between his election and his swearing in or if he discovers during that period what the job really entails and flees the country,…………………………………………………………………

  16. There is a certain logic to Bush leaving office now as the ramping-up of these bailouts (which will have disastrous long term consequences) are all happening within a hysterical and frenzied atmosphere egged on by the Obama-nation’s puppet-monkeys. Bush will be blamed for all the mess that follows. So once again he has been sucked-in, just like Gitmo.

  17. Har ….. been waiting for that one too.
Good thing I didn’t read it at work with my coffee in hand!!
Are you prepared for 4 years of Really Stupid?

  18. “A better question might be:
Is there anything [Pelosi, Chris Dodd, Bwarney Fwank, Reid and the Democrat Congress] CAN do?
[89]% of [their] populace say: […] Not much!”
    There, fixed.

  19. “””””Has he walked on Water yet?”””””
he would have to be dutch, wooden shoes and such:-))))

  20. I wish he would, just to see the comments when you find out you get Cheney. (What is it about lefties that they can’t follow a link?)

  21. Geez, these people who are feeling the tingles up their leg are lining up at trough for the greed feed.

  22. I think we should take steps NOW to insure we can get rid of this Pretender, Obama. He won’t GO willingly in 4 or 8 years.
The market just loves Nancy’s energy predictions, and WAXMAN can’t wait for the California Bail-out.
The Big 3 will get their Bail-out, in Dec, but Bush won’t sign-off on WAXMAN’s conditions. What to do? What to do?

  23. Jerry Pournelle had it right: On January 19th, Bush should give a blanket pardon everybody in sight, including Karl Rove and Dick Cheney, and then resign. Cheney becomes president and gives a blanket pardon to GWB.
To which I could only add, that GWB then retires, not to Crawford Texas but to somewhere like the Bahamas or British Virgin Islands, beyond the reach of a Congressional subpoena, for a couple of years…Pelosi’s head would explode!!!
