  2. One of the many great things about the USA is that it is not a class based society. Those that can, do. By referring to how he will help the “middle class” Obama shows how removed he is from the country that he wants to run.

  6. Win or lose, I suspect the lid will blow off the cultural divide soon after this election, at least soon after the inauguration if Obama wins.
    People persist in thinking this is a racial divide, which is only a small part of it. It’s a cultural divide between the progressive coasts and the traditional heartland. The heartland won’t like Obamism when they see it fully exposed (most don’t want it now). The coasts will love it, for a while at least.
    A peaceful transition to socialism in America? I doubt it — and freedom won’t go down without a hell of a fight, they won’t pass a Section 13 and just get a whimper from three journalists and a dozen bloggers.

  8. This is great…Someone is scared of something popping out in the debate tonight. This is an obvious and blatant attempt to control the topics for the evening…and, of course, the focus of the media.
    I’m not a McCain fan. In fact, I’m not even a Palin fan. But, the old codger has proven himself to be extremely resilient (I’m reminded of his campaign staff jumping ship mid-primary and still winning overwhelmingly).
    Something’s in the works…Obama’s campaign is scared of it, and they are trying to distract the McCain campaign, solidify the medias’ spin, and control the situation.
    Two things: 1. About a week ago, the McCain campaign said they were going to make an announcement on Fox n Friends that would be earth shattering, and that they would immediately go to Obama for a response. It never happened…indicating that McCain held back.
    2. Three days ago McCain stated that he would “Whup Obama’s butt” in the final debate…which is much more charged semantics that the ususal John McCain.
    Yup…something’s coming, and this “talking points” effort is a effort to distract and derail.
    Popcorn?

    1. Will you “re-distribute” the billions of dollars Hollywood makes and the actors make every year?
    2. Will you plan make more middle class, or make the middle class rank below the poverty line?
    3. Did you ask ACORN to fraudulently create voters so you would win? If elected how would you correct this?
    4. Why does your party feel the need to bash a working woman with kids? Do the Democrats want them home bare foot and pregnant?
    5. How are you going to fix an credit system, your party has forced into giving bad loans and has caused the american economy to fail?
    if McCain get’s to ask these questions at the debate he can start the up hill climb…

  11. McCain had better do *something* and he’d better do it quick. Obam-uh’s got the momentum and the majority of the media on his side…it’s just revolting to watch them all droll over his every utterance.
    Also, if he wins he’s also going to get a free ride no matter how much he screws up, as of course everything will still be Bush’s fault – “we’re still cleaning up the mess Bush made.”

  14. The falling fortunes of the MSM on the stock market these last ten years are evidence that the eternal DemocRat BS campaign is hasn’t come off the rails recently. It came off in about 1994 due to talk radio, and went over a cliff with the internet. In 2001 it got hit by four hijacked airplanes and hit the ground burning.
    B.O. is the last dying gasp of the Big Pinko Machine, not a resurgence of the glorious FDR days. The very fact we know he released talking points today, much less have a copy to read, shows that the MSM lock on information is over. Obama is reduced to relying on sheer brass and a hurricane of racist innuendo, trying desperately to fool ’em just one more time. He’s got every campus radical and union thug and race hustling weasel out there moving heaven and earth to corrupt the system just enough to squeeze out a win.
    The only reason he stands even a snowball’s chance in Hell is that the Republicans are a bunch of cowards with no strength in their convictions.
    Should his propaganda and vote fraud blitz and win the day against the really FEEBLE efforts of John McCain, whose single smart move has been choosing Sarah Barracuda Palin for a running mate, then we can expect the following:
    1. A new and improved Hush Rush bill, aimed at closing down conservative talk radio. All Franken all the time or SHUT UP.
    2. Big push to shut down the blogs. Look for something like our own much loved Human Rights Commissions, but with much bigger teeth and an international reach. Barry baby’s going to try for something like the Great Firewall of China, you wait and see.
    3. GUN CONTROL like you ain’t never seen before. Can’t have them shootin’ back when the jackboot comes down y’know.

  15. Just a hint of what’s in store… If Obama wins the election here, I expect at some time the mainstream media will publish a story bemoaning the 22nd amendment and push towards the repeal of said amendment.
    I see Barak Obama and think Hugo Chavez.

  16. Sorry, Kate, but as much as this offends me, I nevertheless must concede that it was a brilliant ploy. In a very postmodern way, it gets the main points out there, essentially acknowledges that the MSM is in the tank for him, and then says “so what?” Play it out: a journalist wanting to make these points will say “as the Obama campaign said,” or “as the Obama campaign argued.” Once they say that, people’s natural reactions will be “well, I agree with the Obama campaign” or “if I’m for Obama, I guess I agree with this.” Game, set, match. Alternatively, this could be a way of trying to force McCain not to attack Obama — if he attacks him, the talkers were true, if he doesn’t, he misses a chance to land a punch. Aso good strategy on their part.

  22. This is so utterly shocking. Now Obama has said that Fox News has cost him three points in the polls. I guess because they aren’t reading his talking points as news. The thing is that if any honest broker applied the fairness doctrine, it would look a lot more like Fox News, which has tons of legitimate Democratics, than CNN, who has no authentic Republican, that I can figure, anyway.

  23. Just watched CTV Newsworld repeat these points almost word for word. For example the “staggering” comment was almost exact even to the use of the word “staggering”.

In fact if you look at Obama’s tax plan, the one where he cuts taxes to 95% of Americans, even the ones who don’t actually pay any taxes, you will see that it brings in waaaay less revenue than is needed to run the govt. Seems like if you write checks to the 40% of taxpayers whose taxes you can’t cut on account of they don’t pay any taxes, in an effort to “spread the wealth around”, you are well on your way to trillion dollar deficits. We will see in four years how Obama’s risible promises came out.

  34. I watched CTV and they had the good idea of bringing together two American expatriates in Canada. One was a Democrat and one was Republican. A third figure appeared to be neutral. So far so good. They were to discuss the stand off between Barack and John.

    The moderator was Marcia McMillan, she of the Streisand hair do and I think Sarah Palin lenses.
    The lady who was a Democrat put her points well and continued uninterupted.
    Now the gentleman who was a Republican started in. As I heard it.
    “Barack Obama appeared to be defensive……..”
    Moderator Marcia.
    “When, when”?

    I turned and walked away.

  35. There was a time when I began to believe that Obama was going to be elected to the White House. That notion scared me. Since then I have become convinced that Obama WILL be elected to the White House. It IS going to happen! What do I do? Crap my pants or take defensive action? I am going to cash in all my stocks and lock-in my capital gains and wait out the fallout of the disaster. Oh – wait – the disaster has happened and my stocks aren’t worth very much right now.
    Man – this guy said he would raise taxes on the “rich” and spend alot more on social programs. Oh – thank God I am no longer amongst the rich. I can’t stand to lose much more.
    America is so forcan fortunate to have Obama saving the day!!!!
