Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Follow the money:
“Kate Kaye at Clickz has done some in-depth analysis of the online ad spending of Democrat Presidential Candidate Barack Obama. The Illinois Senator has spent $3.47 million this year in online advertising.
Of that, $2.8 million went to Google while Yahoo received $180,000. Smaller amounts also went to Facebook, CNN.com, Gothamist, and Politico.
Google, of course, dominates the online advertising market, so it’s a smart play by anyone to spend with them. But Google just happens to be number 13 on OpenSecrets.org list of top donors. The list compiles monies donated by corporate political action committees and individuals ”

Gee, Chicago DemocRats playing dirty? What a shocker!
Everybody in the media conveniently forgets that Rock Obamma is from Chicago, the town where whole cemeteries vote DemocRat.
The article suggests that Obama supporters are the main cause for the blogs being locked.
But I encourage readers to be very wary of Google. They long ago crossed the line from being a company that “does no harm”, to a company that wants to push a certain political agenda.
And THAT is scary stuff because you will be shocked to see how many mindless fools follow the Google Pied Piper.
“Google” does not equate to “freedom”.
strange what happens when IT tech companies get TOO BIG!
follow the $$$
Agreed, TJ, there’s a certain type of personality that thrives in these large companies, the type that loves to vote for tax increases and liberal causes.
However in this case I doubt Google itself did the dirty work. If they get a name for pulling stunts like this, their business will be in the crapper in a week. They are first and foremost an -advertising- company, they live or die based on their reputation and they know it.
So the connection trying to be made here is this:
You think that because Obama spends most of his online advert money on google ads (an equivalent example would be like giving money to NASA to go to space…you don’t go to McDonalds and say, here’s 5 million dollars, put me on the moon!), and in return, Google has taken it upon themselves to silence _specifically_ pro-Hillary Clinton blogs who are critical of Obama, all after the fact that Obama has won the nomination….? And google would sacrifice it’s reputation (which is a key aspect to the companies success) for being an open and honest corporation who is an adamant supporter of peoples rights and freedoms to express themselves (although their shareholders have been voting against that lately with regards to foreign governments demanding user records to convict them, as in the case of China)?
I just think that it’s extremely comical that you guys think that Google would silence some random blogs on blogspot in some vague attempt at suppressing any kind of dissension within the party…instead of, you know, silencing the opposing parties blogs? Obviously google has a particular political affiliation (as noted by their donations), but to believe that they’d throw away their repuation over this is moronic.
Seriously, think a little before you set up your jump to conclusions floor map.
interesting. i like the internet because i have always felt free to write anything i wanted to. i guess we will be shut down as others have been in the past. freedom is a difficult thing to maintain. i have written to prime ministers and presidents, fools and intelligent people, oh well, we will still have pen and paper.
barjebus – you are getting it, it’s Obama’s followers flagging any blog critical of him as spam which Google removes immediately without any due process. It’s the same game played out at YouTube with the I’m-so-offended ploy. It’s the typical smarmy actions of the left’s minions. They are always weaseling for ways to make speech disappear that offends them.
Oh, and, Google and Yahoo do have political affiliations, ones of convenience, like their supporting the Chinese government’s censuring filters so their revenues won’t end there. Neither organization is a political neutral when it comes to upholding principles of free speech.

Barjebus.
But… but if they went after the BIG DOGS, they would attract BIG DOGS. Intimidation only works were resources are unequal… Political dirty tricks abound..
