The preachers, both ministers in Birmingham, were handing out leaflets on Alum Rock Road in February when they started talking to four Asian youths.
A police community support officer (PCSO) interrupted the conversation and began questioning the ministers about their beliefs.
They said when the officer realised they were American, although both have lived in Britain for many years, he launched a tirade against President Bush and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Mr Cunningham said: “I told him that this had nothing to do with the gospel we were preaching but he became very aggressive.
“He said we were in a Muslim area and were not allowed to spread our Christian message. He said we were committing a hate crime by telling the youths to leave Islam and said that he was going to take us to the police station.”

To be clear: a PCSO, which this nitwit is, is a HOBBY COP. They are not real cops, thank God, but the UK gov’t is tending to give them more powers (without proper training) as time progresses.
They can arrest you only via a standard citizen’s arrest, but not as a police office. You could arrest them in the same manner.
They cannot order you to do anything, you never have to answer their questions, and they only threat is that they can issues fines for specific offences, of which talking/preaching is NOT one.
It is the issuing of fines which is causing them to be used more and more by UK police forces as they are a cheap method of generating revenue.
However, they look and talk an awful lot like real cops. So most law-biding people, who generally still respect cops at least a little, listen to them. However, the crooks know better and generally just have to threaten them to get them to back off, as happens every day ( A PCSO does NOT have a duty to act, so he can just walk away from a crime).
In short, they are generally power-hungry neighbourhood nosies who revel in being able to intimidate naive people.
In effect, they are helping to continually degrade everyone’s respect for the police. This is, of cource, a downward spiral which is precisely what the Labour party wants.

You read the last line of the article, you discover: “West Midlands Police, who refused to apologise, said the incident had been “fully investigated” and the officer would be given training in understanding hate crime and communication.”
So, not given a smack upside the head and fired out the door like he deserves. Because why? Because “keeping the peace” means crushing dissent in modern Britain. They probably gave him a pat on the head and an attaboy.
Labour’s Britain is all about not stepping out of line. Religious freedom is only for Muslims, that’s the party line. Christians are out of favor and better keep a low profile.

George, I didn’t notice your comment prior to posting mine. You’re right of course, the cause of all the uproar you mention is indeed social engineering. There would be no uproar in Caledonia right now if the province wasn’t actively helping these creeps. Note that there is no trouble in HAMILTON area, which is certainly within 12 miles of the Grand River. The reason for that is that the Hamilton cops have served notice on the MWS scum that they will toss them in jail instantly if they start anything in Hamilton area.
Likewise there would be no uproar in Birmingham without active government support of it. This time the government minion tangled with the wrong Christians, who made a fuss. How many times have they pulled the same crap with no fuss being made?

I was sorely tempted to send an e-mail and ask how threats of bodily harm would make anyone feel safer, but in light of the “solution” that the police arrived at (sham investigation, read a chapter in a make-nice book) there wasn’t much point.
Frenchie 77 is correct, PCSOs are not police constables.
They were originally introduced in order to relieve police for more critical duties. A PCSO is less expensive to train and employ.
PCSOs “generally perform routine duties, assisting and supporting Police Officers, gathering intelligence, carrying out security patrols and, through their presence alone, reassuring the public. Where possible, they also attend to matters not requiring police powers.”

This was the second article I’ve read in about a week involving a PCSO – both involved a situation that without seeing a photo or reading the ethnic/religious background of the PCSO, I knew it was Muslim related.
The Muttawa harass and terrify their own in Saudi Arabia for the least infraction, so keep an eye on these accounts and you will find that regardless of the good intentions of PCSO in the first place, they are now Britain’s religious police.
When I read these things, I keep wishing alhamedi (The Religious Policeman blog) was back online so I could get his reactions. I understand why he is offline, and am glad he’s safe, but wish he could come back to enlighten us.
Although I think the enlightenment is beginning in Europe, it’s more than likely too late.
