This is a terrible thing and unfortunately I think we will see a lot more of this over this year.
It is also a sign of desperation. AQ is going down and they are just accelerating their decline with these kinds of acts. Iraqi’s know who the enemy is now. The US needs to stick to their guns and be patient. The longer that AQ (or the Taliban or Heznoballah, etc.) are out of power the more irrelevant they become because democracy and freedom really does take hold on all peoples over time.

I’m in the midst of reading “Troublesome Young Men”. Given world events today, it’s downright eerie how history repeats itself. I can understand how, after WWI (the war to end all wars with its attendant carnage), people were loathe to consider the prospect of another. Poland, Czechoslovakia & Austria were tossed like bones to a dog (Nazis)in the hope that the dog would be satisfied. It wasn’t – appeasement only emboldened it. And, according to the book, in Britain, the MSM was in collusion with the government and withheld information from the general public. They even had their own version of the NDP – the pacifist Labour Party who refused to sanction rearmament. Does this all sound familiar?
