  1. [ .. and the banning of DDT created a perfect storm for reviving the critters, which had been virtually dormant since World War II .. ]
Now multiply bedbug’s health issue by a million and you have malaria.
Patrick was right all along on the DDT ban and he is right about these scams as well.

  2. And not a single mention of climate change in the entire article.
Obviously these people at the NYDN can’t be REAL journalists …..

  3. Man, it is getting to sound like a skipping record(uh oh, revealed my age).
    Wrong on DDT.
    Wrong on nuclear power
    Wrong on recycling.
    Wrong on incineration.
    Wrong on climate change.
They(leftards, moonbats and dippers) should do civilization a favor and just STFU.

  4. Yeah, well thanks, Rachel.
‘More people dying of malaria than ever would have if DDT had continued to be sprayed in the tropics…
Gore and Suzuki: the offspring of Rachel Carson. ‘Too bad someone didn’t DDT her… ;-(

  5. kingston lad –
You forgot Y2K – don’t you remember, the airplanes were going to fall from the sky?
The money market was going to collapse and gold would be the only safe investment?
Gold was $230.00 something Canadian then.
    Eight years later it’s @ $800.00 plus.
Geez, at least the gold part is right, only eight years on.

  6. ‘been around the block – too bad she, or any of these smug pseudo-scientific environmentalists for that matter, wasn’t forced to reside for a year in some bug and vermin infested African hellhole without window screens like the locals.
Rachael Carson has killed more Africans than their local homicidal thugs combined.

  7. I get a little bit of schadenfreude with the thought that the afflicted New Yorkers are living the approved leftist lifestyle: crammed together urban, multi-unit dwellings.
I love my detached house and the sprawl it causes. And the lack of bed bugs.

  8. In the Old Farmers Alamac, that I inherited from my Dad; 1902, it recomends the use of smoking tobacco in all flea ridden areas of the house and barn.
New York was the first American city to ban the smoking of tobacco in all inclosed spaces …law of unintended consequences! Ha. Maybe the Indian people were not so stupid.

  9. Yeah, Matt but people move around and bring their infestations with them, in suitcases. Stayed at a famous and expensive NYC hotel a few years back and we were moved three times due to cockroaches. I was ok with the roaches (‘tho my companions weren’t) but bedbugs would really have given me the creeps. Still, I left my luggage out in the January cold for a few days.
    Happy New Year to all!

  10. Joe. Y2K was a little different. It did not involve birkenstock wearing moonbats chanting “hey ho, hey ho, _________________ has got to go”.
No my friend, the dipper/moonbat/enviro-fraud crowd have always used the environment as their wedge issue. And to some success, I may add.

  11. Having lived in Noo Yawk for four years and been subjected to their freaking idiot liberalism the entire time, I can only say:
BWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!! Looks good on you, you freaking Manhattan liberal boneheads!
With any luck, between the rats, fleas, lice, bedbugs and crashing airplanes the average Manhattan socialist will wake up and grow a clue. Or die of some hideous disease. Can’t say which I would favor more at this point, they REALLY pissed me off.

  12. I’d expect that the Hell’s Angels will be soon getting into the illegal distribution of DDT very soon . . . just like drugs – restricted substances wanted by the public means huge profits for organized crime.
Wonder if ya can make DDT in a home lab ??

  13. SILENT SPRING was a complete lie there was nothing wrong with DDT it did,nt cuase bird egg shells to thin and the eco-wackos are mass murderers

  14. What an insane list of don’ts. Kerosene?
They left off steaming. I have a devise intended for clothes that puts out a heavy dose of killer steam.

  15. new term for New Year: enviromoralists people who want to impose their flawed morality on everyone else. Leads to crimes against humanity such as the ban on DDT.

  16. THIS IS A GOOD WAY TO GET RID OF THEM AS ANY. CHARLES WURTSA scientist for the ENVIROMENTAL DEFENSE FUND on the likly that millions would die if DDT were banned aahh yes the enviromental extremist that the liberal left-wing news media ignore and in fact TIME has named several enviroemntal radicals as HEROS OF THE PLANET SHAME ON TIME
