If they were really interested in improving the welfare of humankind they would invest the 85BB in developing clean, airborne-emissions-free coal-fired generation technology and then give it to the developing world for free.

To me it is quite scandelous that the data sets used are ciorrupted. Totally uncorrected for land use….and when you use the ones that have been in rural areas for 100 years you find the data doesnt support the runaway train.
They tend to support 1998 being a hot summer but recent data is downward trending.
BTW there is more ice cover on Hudson’s Bay today than there was at this time last year, significantly so. That doesnt get reported and probably shouldnt be, part of the natural cycle of things. There is about as much ice in arctic, as far as cover goes not depth, as there was last year at this time, maybe a little more. So the recovery has been quite quick.

Hard to say whether AGW is politics or just data mistakes the faithful accept as divine enlightenment.

Doug. Is the micro climate data given the same weight as the macro data?
Once the trigger has been pulled the bullet cannot be called back from it’s flight to the target.
The AGW proponents have pulled the trigger AND *called* their targets. All that is left are the excuses for the miss.
There are a lot of scientists and engineers who helped pull that trigger and will be complicit in setting the base for public skepticism of climate projections and the the science for the next several decades.
The claims, of course, will contain the allegation that the AGW’ers were provided purposefully *tainted* data sets to mislead them. Culprits and motives will remain unnamed.

That has never stopped them in the past of making a downward revision…..ok we estimated a little too high but we were directionally correct….I have said in the past I wont believe their models till start coming with something less than major magnitudes of miss.
Some would say close only counts in horseshoes….I am willing to let it count here as well, but they arent even close in their predictions. Which means the models arent any use.
I would love to believe this was all true. It is nice to know how the world works….but right now we just dont know.
