2. It’s possible to be “mentally defective” and still contribute to society. I’m schizophrenic, albeit very high functioning. I work. I pay taxes. I use my computer skills to keep other local businesses up and running. I do volunteer work. I’m a husband and a father. And you’d bloody well better believe I have a strong parental instinct:

   If anyone should have been sterilized, it was Tommy Douglas.

3. Tommy Douglas, like a lot of people at the time believed that eugenics was they key to mankind’s greatness. Like every other human, Douglas had some skeletoons in his closet, just like this one. He certainly was not as bad as Che Guevara or Fidel Castro, but this evidence of his past beliefs in eugenics has definitely caused him to lose some glamor as a hero for the left.

Again, it’s more important that we understand WHERE this idea of eugenics came from that simply who subscribed to it…eugenics/population control was a popular political phenomena in the 20s-30s..ALL politicians of every stripe gravitated to this policy IF, the core of their personal or political philosophy was elitist and statist.
   Eugenics was a product of upper class British fabian socialism (ruling class elitists)in the early part of the century…along with eugenics ( culling/engineering the proletariat to produce the perfect servants of the state) came the belief in it’s handmaiden; social darwinism ( a new form of plutocracy justified with mumbo-jumbo science)…this class thought of themselves as “globalists” and deemed their ideas to be so starkly correct that opposition was dismissed as “unenlightened”…..sound familiar?
   Obviously this appealed to political leaders who themselves had ideas of statist control of “the masses”…Tommy was front and center here but he had pals like Aberhart, King and Bennet.
   The enemy is not left or right…it is elitism and statism, which in combination created the worlds most gastly civil atrocities in the early 20th century.
   We see a resurgence of a lot of these old Machiavellian ideas repackaged…eugenics/population control/autocratic plutocracy and social darwinism have all seen resurgence in the drafted documents of UN global planning….Agenda 21 spells out these old elitist/statist ideas under the new buzz word of “sustainability”.
   Watch that word and who uses it….behind the “sustainability” priesthood lies the black soul of eugenics and depopulation as well as the thinking of an plutocratic elitist and a statist. Auldous Huxley warned about the type of world the “sustainability” technocrats will build…they wear all political stripes these days.

   The US will have none of this Eugenics, master race bullshit. It goes against the concept of the melting pot and the biblical City on the Hill. Which is why white supremacists in the US are hunted down and killed like dogs by the FBI whereas in Canada, they lead the NDP party.
   It is INEXCUSABLE and should be rooted out like the black rot it is.

7. You misunderstood me Doug. I’m not saying that Tommy Douglas is a hero, nor is he as bad as Che Guevara and Castro (The Cuban regime actually practiced eugenics and even was known to have murdered people just because they were infected with the HIV virus). I’m pointing out that Douglas, like a lot of people at the time, believed in eugenics.

8. I personally knew individuals wo were sterilized during the “Tommy Douglas” regime. My best friend’s Mom owned a “group home.” Thanks to Ross Thatcher, the practice was put to rest after his election in or about 1964. Most mentally challenged person were then and later on allowed to live in group homes.
   One individual I recall was of Dutch origin. Because of his difficulty with English, he was unable to explain to the shrinks in Weyburn that he was suffering from depression. He had been trained a as a Math teacher. He often helped us with Grade 12 Geometry, Trig. etc. He was a kind, lovable genius. He died in 1972, if anything, he died from a broken heart.
   “The Greatest Canadian” should not have been a man who allowed people to be sterlized and/or rendered helpless under shock treatments. Every time I see a picture of that that little communist, (Douglas,) I shiver. If anyone should have been subjected to shock treatment and sterilization it was the morons who voted for him!

    Interestingly as much as leftists like to cloak themselves in the “enlightened” morality of “humanism” the greatest leaders of socialist regimes and ideologies were “trans-humanists” which is a polite way of saying they believed they were part of a superman class destined to subjugate and rule by virtue of superieor genits which put them in the ruling class..they wanted state engineered superman/super race….built for service to the anthill society run by the enlightened genetically pure elite for their personal benefit….Hitler was deeply into this social darwinist dogma as was Stalin, Mao and Ford, Rockefeller, McArthur and Truman.
    Reading UN agenda 21 in conjunction with, or within the frame of reference, of the writings of Huxley,Russel, Wells and other proto-social/genetic darwinists and you can see their plans in near actuation…..if the UN were to fully implement the agenda 21 initiatives, the old world Plutocrats like Russel, Darwin, Wedgewood et al would see their utopia brought to reality….no national borders, no national sovereignty…just a small globalist class of “enlightened” philosopher-king regulators who have unilateral regulatory dispensation over the globes resources and population…they will fist depopulate by 2/3 then create a class of engineered drones who exist to serve the global state ( meaning the small global elite). The Technocratic elite will enjoy the bounty of earths resources surrendered to them when old civil-empathy ideals like individual and national sovereignty and private property ownership are eliminated. It will be a trans-humanist engineered technocratic feudal utopia…unless you are one of the engineered “super worker” class who’s existance is tolerated by the elite for the sole purpose of serving the state.
    We have to keep reminding ourselves that in the entire history of mankind there have been less than a dozen truly free humanist societies…all of them but 1 was usurped by a tyranny….and there is plenty of indicators to prove the current so called free western societies are under attack by creeping technocratic statism and transnational plutocracy.

12. Tommy Douglas regurgitated the received wisdom of his day. None of us are immune from that folly. Instead of looking back at particuar instances of this received wisdom folly we should be looking at our own received wisdom to find the folly hidden within.

13. They were still sterilizing people in Alberta in the 70″s. There was a documentary about it.

14. And Sask, and Manitoba still have martialized unilateral institutionalization and state assessed lobotomy procedures….of course the provinces “hold in trust” the intered’s estate.
    The last time this was used was last year to institutionalize a farmer and take his property…..no documentary on the conversion of property or estates by socialist governments in Sask or Man….and no documentaries on the mental competancy tests used to do it.
