  1. From the two faces to the same coin file:
BUSH QUIETLY ADVISING HILLARY CLINTION AND TOP DEMOCRATS
    http://tinyurl.com/38nzll
“”Bolten said Bush wants enough continuity in his Iraq policy that “even a Democratic president would be in a position to sustain a legitimate presence there.”
“Especially if it’s a Democrat,” the chief of staff told The Examiner in his West Wing office. “He wants to create the conditions where a Democrat not only will have the leeway, but the obligation to see it out.”
To that end, the president has been sending advice, mostly through aides, aimed at preventing an abrupt withdrawal from Iraq in the event of a Democratic victory in November 2008.””
Like I said, Hillary is the GOP nominated Dem who will get full congresional support to carry on ME expansion….I also belive she will be habded a foreign policy where the US is committed to deposing Iran’s leadership.

  2. The MSM and PPG are back in Hot For An Election mode. Just as in the spring, they are focused on ‘having a federal election’. Why? Because they are all Liberals and are stunned by being out of power.
I suspect that the Liberal Party Bosses want an election NOW. Fast. They have two reasons. One, to get rid of Dion before he implodes the Liberal party further. And two, to do it while Harper might still be in minority terrain. They want to lose this election when Harper might still be returned with a minority.[ I happen to think he’s closer to majority, but that’s me.]
Then, losing the election, they’ll dump Dion and put in Ignatieff as the Philosopher-King. And, proceed to work themselves up, emotionally in the minds of the people, back into their self-defined role as The Natural Governing Party.
The Liberals have no interest in Canada or Canadians. They have only one interest. Power. And they have no policies for Canada and Canadians. Any policies they might announce have only one agenda – putting them in power.
They also rule by propaganda – that’s why a philosopher-king style of leader is their ideal; that’s why they make such constant use of anti-Americanism; that’s why they tout Kyotoism and its apocalpytic guilt-ridden Evil Humans scenario.
The NDP want an election now, also for partisan reasons. To take seats from the Liberals.
The Bloc? They want an election to lose, so they can sneak off into the sunset with their Canadian taxpayer funded pensions.
The only people who don’t want an election – is Harper – who wants to work. And Dion, who knows what will happen to him when he loses.
But – the Liberal MSM and PPG are beside themselves screaming for an election. For one reason only. Power. To manipulate the people and get the Liberals back into the only place they feel is Their Right.
Despicable behaviour. And we are paying these people to govern for Canada. Not to play partisan politics. But the Liberals don’t know anything else.

  3. I voted as well although I wasn’t too sure whether to vote for PMSH’s ‘flexible’ plan or for ‘global warming is not happening.’ If indeed warming is happening, is it a result of human activity or something else, like the SUN! If the former, then what we do should have squat effect. In the end, I voted for PMSH’s idea and I’ll continue to ride my bike to work until the snow flies.

  4. the G&M must be desperate to get the answer they want as that poll has been going since this time Yesterday
PM’s approach has taken a small lead

  5. From an IBD Editorial …
How many people, for instance, know that James Hansen, a man billed as a lonely “NASA whistleblower” standing up to the mighty U.S. government, was really funded by Soros’ Open Society Institute , which gave him “legal and media advice”?
That’s right, Hansen was packaged for the media by Soros’ flagship “philanthropy,” by as much as $720,000, most likely under the OSI’s “politicization of science” program.
That may have meant that Hansen had media flacks help him get on the evening news to push his agenda and lawyers pressuring officials to let him spout his supposedly “censored” spiel for weeks in the name of advancing the global warming agenda.
Hansen even succeeded, with public pressure from his nightly news performances, in forcing NASA to change its media policies to his advantage. Had Hansen’s OSI-funding been known, the public might have viewed the whole production differently. The outcome could have been different.

  6. Graham Noyes on “What’s The Opposite Of Diversity? (Update)” may have seen this:
    Why Study War?
    Victor Davis Hanson
Military history teaches us about honor, sacrifice, and the inevitability of conflict.
Try explaining to a college student that Tet was an American military victory. You’ll provoke not a counterargument—let alone an assent—but a blank stare: Who or what was Tet? …-

  7. Bobby Fife, reporting from the UN, was so scared on Duffy live he seemed incoherent — may have wet his pants. Afraid the Kult is falling appart, losing his Senate appointment n’ all.
Near the end he desparately wails how Canadians are being hurt by global warming and more hurt is to come — so push the scam. Huh ??
Have you been hurt by global warming lately ?? Does less frost bite hurt more ?? Polar bears disappearing ? Nope, populations are increasing. Food crops failing because of a longer growing season ? Nope, getting better. Less ice in the Artic hurts ??
And besides, many, many reputable scientists are predicting the earth’s climate will cool in the decades ahead — has happened since time began. Gore is not even a scientists —- let alone ….

  8. OMMAG, that’s quite revelation of the moral fiber of the Clinton clan. White trash with scads of other peoples money. Talk of all these Pauls is making my head spin.
Peter Paul, Ron Paul, RuPaul, stealing from Peter to pay Paul.
Fiddle dee dee, I won’t think about it now, I’ll think about it tomorrow, when I can stand it.

  9. McGuinty says he’ll ‘accept’ voters’ decision
BARRIE, Ont. – Premier Dalton McGuinty says he will “accept” the will of voters if next month’s provincial election results in a minority Liberal government. (canoe news)
    McLiar’s crow song:
… And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, I’ll say it clear, (FS) …-
    I’m not a liar … caw …

  10. Prime Minister Harper speaks in New York. Spoke and took questions openly. (Much to the shock of Fife and Duffy) Even Duffy had to say that he looked relaxed. It is such a pleasure to watch this PM represent Canada on the international stage.

  11. More evidence Dion doesn’t get it. Here is a quote by him in Torstar regarding election:
“I am not surprised,” Dion said. “Why have a throne speech unless he (Harper) wants an election?”
So everytime parliament convenes, with a throne speech, that is evidence government wants election? Obviously Dion hasn’t figured out how our parliament works or that he won’t be getting away with idiotic comments like the one above. They simply reinforce the idea that he is not PM material, that his own party must jettison him somehow to have any chance for future power.

  12. Vitally important information that not enough people are paying attention to. There’s a current and ongoing example in Europe that previews what will happen everywhere in the west if we continue to allow muslims to immigrate.
“The entire region is an example of the catalyst that all Islamists are trying to create here in America. An all out war where in the end the Muslims have the majority, and the non-Muslims live in fear and dhimmitude. What happened there is the end result, 50 to 100 years ahead of where America is today, that is unless we take action to prevent it from occurring here.”
Included in the article is a link to the Hague war crimes research, including pictures of Muslim attrocities, not suitable for most to view. Be warned.
The reporter is one, Jesse Petrilla, the founder of The United American Committee (UAC), a federation of concerned Americans promoting awareness of threats to Homeland Security, primarily focusing on Islamic extremism in America.

  13. just checked on the G&M poll, PM’s idea holding its own with the combination of both moving up fast, Stick with Kyoto slipping & losing traction.
On another note G&M comments are full of the hate Bush/Harper today, actually quite good for a laugh, at the same time iam listening to the Beatles- Elenor Rigby on XM Radio 6
“All the lonely people, Where do they come from”

  14. Apparently friend to all that is socialistic and undemocratic, Wheat Board director Rod Flaman, is now going to run for the Liebral party of Canada in the riding currently held by CPC’s Andrew Scheer.
So now we have a shoplifter and a socialist turncoat in that riding. Wow, what options for the liberal left.

  15. One of the joys of having the full Rogers cable package is I get regional news from all across the country. From CJON (Newfoundland) to CITY Vancouver, I get the local reports from everywhere. Since local reporters are much more focused on their respective cities and provinces, I find their coverage to be much less ideological, and more concerned with what is important to their viewers.
For example, on CTV’s Calgary news at noon, they ran a story on farmers who are growing crops for fuel, and noted that prices are rising for grains due to both the US subsidies for ethanol and rising consumption in China and India. When I combine this with a report I saw on CNBC yesterday which showed that food prices were the major factor in Chinese inflation (pork prices have more than tripled in China in the last year), I immediately thought of three things:
First, why, in the face of skyrocketing demand, can’t the CWB deliver better prices to their captives, er, members? Second, how should I adjust my investment portfolio to take advantage of this long-term trend? And third, if there is any global warming, and it extends growing seasons for Canada’s prairies, why in the world would any Canadian politician want to stop it?

So bringing in the owner of surfacestations dot org (I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he really is the owner) to argue on your behalf is ignoring someone is it?
He is wrong on one very key point and more needs to be said. Obviously you fear that more might be said to prove this guy is anything but credible, because when anyone tries to add a reply this comes up-

Oh Kate, you shut down further comment on the subject with more to be said, shame on you! A very desperate act I must say. In case anyone didn’t know before, it’s now crystal clear what truth (and getting the whole story) means to you.
Kate because of this it appears that your credibility level has gone from zero to running a deficit.
BTW, you need to learn the difference between a troll and an opposing viewpoint.

  17. There are a couple of places that are trying to break a story about the Director of Copyright at Heritage Canada being in a relationship with a lobbyist from the film industry while passing copyright legislation.
Problem is, these Liberals who are trying to break the story (including that intellectual giant BigCityLiberal) are not saying the important parts:
Assistant Deputy Minister for Cultural Affairs Jean-Pierre Blais named Patricia Neri Director General of Copyright. Dec.2005 while Martin’s Liberals were in power.
Douglas Frith, the person Patricia Neri was sleeping with is a former Liberal MP.
So, the liberals are trying to slag the conservatives with a liberal scandal… One hopes the media won’t tag along but don’t hold your breath.

How can professional writers, editors, and the like act so stupid? They want to be the voice of the people , yet they do stuff like this?
Sheesh, what is it with these people?
Seems as if credibility is a long way from their top priority. Next thing, they’ll have “Prime Minister” Harper dressed like this! I say “Prime Minister” to make the point that SOME people forget that IS his title…

  19. Is someone sending a message re liberal unhappiness. Every pic I see of Dion seems to have a smiling Iggy in the background.

  20. “Premier Dalton McGuinty says he will “accept” the will of voters if next month’s provincial election results in a minority Liberal government.” . . . probably thought it was prudent to play the “humble” card. One of his people was recently boasting that they were confident of getting a majority.

  21. Re: Manitoba’s new February holiday.
One more reason for me to rejoice that I am retired from Manitoba’s education system and no longer have to promulgate the politically correct rubbish that poses as fact.

  22. Does anyone ever wonder about what sort of an issue Kyoto would have been had the Liberals been in power instead of Conservatives. I suspect they would have quietly “met targets” by sending money to Russia, China, etc. below the radar of the press and the Canadian public . . . or they would have backed down and explained that we,regretably, could not meet the targets and noone would have much of a big fuss. I have seen articles documenting the inconsistencies in rhetoric used by Envornmental groups when it’s Liberals who fall short (e.g. “not enough, but a good start” for Liberals vs. “completely inadequate, blah, blah . . ” for Consesrvatives — for roughly similar initiatives. I remain convinces that the whole fuss about Kyoto has been fueled in large part by anti-Conservatism.

  23. Now that Duffy is back on in the evenings it will be fun to watch Magpie Hall-Findlay, Gerard(Ignoramus Interruptus)Kennedy, Pablo Mopriguez, Denis Codezbollah and all the usual suspects spinning tales of how the Liberals are just one big happy family.
It’s hilarious that they are blaming everyone and everything but themselves for their wipeouts in Quebec, even blaming the Provincial Liberals for making the voters mad.
    Talk about denial!

  24. Just watched the CTV News. I could have sworn that the newscaster was on the Liberal or Dipper payroll. Bias was an understatement, the manditory Bush, Bush, Bushisms and the particularly insulting “Canada has achieved nothing in Afghanistan” line drove me nuts.
My blood pressure was in danger listening to this idiot. Why the lies and constant attacks? What’s the point?
    Strange Brew

  25. KevinB – adjust your portfolio to increase your exposure to volatility in foods that are directly convertable to fuel (canola/rape, soy, barley

  26. No one could watch either of our Politics programs at 5:PM Mon. to Fri., CBC and CTV, and not come away with the same impression, WE ARE ACTIVELY WORKING FOR THE LIBERALS!!

  27. People, please, for the sake of your Mental and Cardiovascular health, refrain from watching CBC and CTV. That stuff is worse for you than any high fat, high sugar diet and sedentary liftstyle. It really isn’t worth the stroke that watching that garbage could induce. I no longer engage in that destructive behavior now that we have this marvelous smorg of Blogs to get some real info value from.

  28. Alby: why in heaven’s name don’t you just get your own blog going, instead of coming here to cry your eyes out? What is it with you, man? I’ll sent you a crate of tissues, OK?

  29. Rice says slain al-Qaida in Iraq chief was ‘diabolically brilliant’ tactician
NEW YORK – Slain al-Qaida in Iraq chief Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was a “diabolically brilliant” war tactician, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said, likening the terror commander to Civil War generals Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant.(canoe news) …-
    Wrong likenings, Condi.
Here are the right likenings: Hannibal Lecter and lberia.

  30. I went back and read the link that Albatros39a gave and reviewed the statement by Mr. Watts. Towards the end he made this comment:
See the entire slide show here, and you’ll begin to understand the level of bias that has been introduced into the climate record:
I find this very surprising. I was under the impression that the purpose of the site was to document possible issues with climate monitoring locations. I did not know that it had moved on to the interpretation of the climate data. In fact I think that John V’s work, while preliminary, is a step in the direction of showing that the bias is not as large as expected.
If Mr. Watts is still monitoring this site, perhaps he could clarify.
    Regards,
    John

  31. If you’re Adolf Hitler’s agent and you’re trying to book a speaking gig, who do you call: Columbia University or the Carolina School of Straight Chiropractic?
    _______
Watching a crowd at Columbia University cheering Iranian President Mahmoud AhmadWhack-I-Job yesterday was nauseating. How did a two-bit anti-Semitic loon get the prestige and platform of an invitation to an elite, Ivy League institution?
But that’s the point. It takes Ivy League hubris to make such a shameful mistake. Nobody else would.
    ….from the Boston Herald

  32. Cbc and ctv have both ran a story on the NDP’s “uncovering” of the fact that last year’s speech by Karzie (sp) at the U.N. was prepared with the help of the conservatives(gasp). This amounts to more coverage than the speech and Harper’s speech recieved when they actually spoke to the U.N. Hmmm, excuse me, but your bias is showing.

  33. Picture of the week over at TheReligionOfPeace.com:
This year Islam and Judaism’s holiest holidays overlapped for 10 days. Muslims racked up 397 dead bodies in 94 terror attacks across 10 countries during this time… while Jews worked on their 159th Nobel Prize.

  35. Great job Manitoba. Now, not only do I have to celebrate a meaningless holiday in February because some goof-offs decided they worked too hard between New Year’s and Easter, I have to celebrate a holiday named after the treasonous cop killer Louis Riel.
