According to briefing notes, obtained by The Canadian Press, only 5.6 per cent of Liberal party members have donated so far this year to the party, one of its riding associations or to one of the former leadership candidates, who are struggling to pay off about $3.6 million in cumulative debt.
Only 29 per cent of Liberal MPs have donated to the party and almost none of their staff members.
But don’t despair, dear Liberal non-supporters;
Among other things, [the party] will employ former prime minister Jean Chretien and Paul Martin to make e-mail solicitations.
They’re calling it the “brown e-envelope campaign”.
This is what happens when the spigot is turned off. With no more swill in the trough, the librano pigs refuse to donate to their beloved party. Going from bad to worse for the trough feeding leeches. Could not have happened to a more deserving bunch of a$$holes!

If I were a Liberal supporter (and I am not) I would be very suspicious of any fund raising issues which had the Chretch’s and St.Paul’s names attached to it.
Meanwhile, the G&M is reporting that Dion, in a radio interview, is saying that the problem is his “low profile”. I totally agree. He needs to get out in front of regular Canadians and talk and talk and talk. It would be especially helpful if he talks a lot about bringing our boy Khadr home. The ensuing flood of cash will really get the libs in excellent fiscal shape to fight a fall election.

I always thought Al Capone’s “Pay up or we bomb your business” was the epitome of truth in advertising wrt fundraising for an organization. It should have been the marquis for the Liberal Party but I imagine just didn’t translate very well into French. However, since that corporate shakedown option is no longer available the Libranos need a new trough. How about taking a page from Joe Volpe: “Pay up or we squeeze your kids”?

That’s what happens when you can no longer get most of your money from large central canuck corporations. Changing funding rules has crippled the Liberals, because they are not a grass roots party.
The money Liberals stole from Canadians won’t be paid back to us for a long time at this rate. Perhaps the government should sue all Liberal Party members listed during the years of theft? A class action suit on behalf of Canadians against the Liberal Party?

Re: Dion’s “low profile.” It’s that low profile that has kep him at 30% in the polls. If his ideas and thoughts get out into mainstream, I believe Lib numbers will plunge, just as they would in in an election.

The question is why were the scribes of MSM not able to ferret out the rot that lived for a decade or more within the malfeasant governing Liberals.
