Look at it this way. What you have, after WWII, is a situation where previously isolated peoples have moved out of their isolation and into the global milieu. The old tribal cultures of the ME have immigrated to the West.
BUT – instead of insisting that these tribal cultures modernize into the 20th c – at the same time as this ‘opening of the doors’ happened – a pervasive cultural ideology also developed. This is the ideology of postmodernism, which rejects evaluation, which posits that every culture is identical in value and function. This set up the West into the values of ‘multiculturalism’.
Postmodern relativism or multiculturalism is completely unable to evaluate. It can’t say whether a belief system that says that only hereditary members of your tribe are ‘good’ and all others must be killed or can be harmed or can be rejected – is worse than/better than…a belief system that says that a citizen is a civic and not a tribal person.
Multiculturalism can’t evaluate whether a belief system that says a woman can’t be educated is worse than/better than a belief system that says that all are equal.
And so on.
What multiculturalism, which is a product of postmodernism, did – is that it allowed all these global immigrants to move to the West, BUT, BUT, maintain their old beliefs and behaviour As Their Right! Imagine what we did.
We said that you can move to the West, and not change a thing about your beliefs and behaviours – even though they were functional only in the 7th c AD – and not in a modern industrial economy.
You can move to the West, and maintain your old beliefs and behaviour – and the only reason you moved to the West was because, economically, there was no sustenance for you ‘back home’. So, you move to the West – and we’ll support you on Welfare – and you can continue to live your 7th c beliefs and behaviour. On our money.
This has been the situation with the tribal peoples of the ME.
Consider other countries. Did Japan, when it moved into the global realm after WWII – did it remain in its old tribal mode? Absolutely not; it modernized – rapidly; it industrialized, it educated its people to be some of the world’s top scientists.
China is doing the same – moving out of its old peasant mode, educating its people, turning out top scientists, industrializing.
It is the Muslim world that has insisted on retaining its tribalism, its medieval beliefs and behaviour – all totally unsuited to a modern industrial globalism.
It has no science, does not educate its people – and has relied on oil to support them without change.
When these people move to the West – We, in the West, idiots that we are, entrapped within postmodernist’s multiculturalism – have stood back – and refused to evaluate their beliefs and behaviour, refused to ask them to modernize and fit into an industrial and CIVIC society.
We back down immediately when we evaluate them, because they know all they ahve to do is inform us that we are ‘racist’..and we flee.
Can you imagine – one word ‘racist’ – and we immediately stop thinking. We become unable to reason, to critique, to question, to compare, to evaluate. We accept whatever they say and do without analysis.
The West has to fight back – against multiculturalism and postmodern relativism.
One wonders, with all the legislative insanity and cultural dystopia, whether Britain is being destroyed from within by design?
Of course it is ‘from within by design’. It is one form of communist revolutionary strategy, based on the premise that the existing order is so evil it must be destroyed by any means and whatever rises from the ashes has to be better than what previously existed. This form of revolutionary strategy has always been popular with the masses because it is so easy, no vision or planning or discipline or intelligence required, just hateful destruction. It is very effective and very difficult to counter.
My wife and I had the misfortune to travel through Heathrow a couple of months back. Because my wife has a handicap I made arrangements to have us driven around in an eelectric cart. It didn’t happened. The “new” Brit’s saw us as white guys and went out of thier way to assist travellers from India. I tried to stop several of them for help, but no deal. Thankfully a couple of men from Russia helped me as my parkinson’s is obvious.
I don’t have to go back through England until next year and then I will transit through Ireland.
Multiculturalsim appears to have ruined England

I’ve wandered into some pretty rough Mexican joints in South Phoenix to buy a pop or whatever, been the only guy who speaks English for like three blocks, and never once had a problem. Never even had anybody look at me funny. They all just assumed I was armed and behaved accordingly.
You can get better service with a smile and a gun than you can with just a smile. I recommend it.

If I’m getting major attitude from staff and patrons for even being there (’cause I’m white, or a chick, or Allah forbid a white chick), that’s something altogether different.

I don’t know Kingstonlad, rude customer or not it is London as in England, home of the frikkin’ English language so expecting to get served in the official language of the country is not too far out of line.
I’ve seen this type of song and dance in Canada too, especially in Quebec. Perfectly bilingual people will suddenly n’parle pas anglais if they don’t feel like serving you. At least in Quebec they have the only official language thing going for them even if it does supercede federal law (but that is another rant).

If he did it in a Chinese restaurant, sure. You expect such a place to be staffed by immigrants and to cater to a niche of diners. But if he went into a Starbucks on the main drag and the place was staffed by Chinese struggling with English, no. One does expect staff at a mainstream joint catering to John Q Public to be conversant in the native language, and the staff (or rather the management) should get some serious attitude if this isn’t the case.

Their familiarity with ET’s past comments makes it most likely one of the regular trolls that has hung around here for awhile, hardly the handiwork of someone new and just passing through.
It really underscores the need to ignore the trolls that provocatively splat their droppings for attention repeatedly. The first rule in personal safety, especially in public places, is to never engage the irrational. Assuming someone’s identity is just too creepy.
He’s probably using IP spoofing or something Penny. Seems like a lot of trouble to go to just to be annoying, doesn’t it?

Civil societies that have become disenfranchised often become extremist in order to protect themselves. Look no further than the 1930’s, where the fear of communism caused great sympathy in the West for the Franco forces in Spain and tolerance of fascism. If our socialist/utopian bureaucracy run governments don’t correct their multicultural zeal, the backlash WL speaks of will be real and worse than most anything we could imagine.

Islam is a bit more than a 7th century tribal culture. Even in the 7th century, how many cultures were still performing ritual human sacrifice, other than the Maya, etc?
Violence is foundational to Islam. It cannot be reformed without editing out the commands for perpetual violence against infidels, women, sinners and apostates. Which would mean deleting most of the Quran, and all of Mohammad. At which point its message becomes redundant.
It’s unlikely that it can be reformed, if reformation means redundancy.
