  1. Iberia is right to say CPF program came from Trudeau era. He also civilianized and decimated the Canadian military, as a book written by a fellow named Porter points out. Jack Granatstein asks, who killed the Canadian military? His thesis is we all did. Diefenbaker, Trudeau, Mulroney and Chretien.
Now we have a government committed to rebuilding the prestige and capability of the Forces. The Liberal response, they argue the invasion of Afghanistan was to “get rid of Al Queda, who are gone now,” in essense to redfine the mission retroactively from it’s actual mission, to remove the Taliban who refused to deal with Bin Laden.
The Liberals undermined the military in government and are trying to do the same in opposition. BTW, let’s not forget Chretien’s military legacy, to spend a billion dollars not to buy helicopters, in fact to spend more money to buy an obsolete piece of kit, at least 10 (I’m being charitable) years late.
Iberia, you doth protest too much.
