Reader Tips

Air Canada – no longer content with stranding passengers in their ongoing battle to curb C02! Update: another poll goes horribly wrong…
The CBC is caught in a fib over their airing of the Altar Boy Gang pilot.
It’s not often an audience gets the chance to vote the loser back to a kidney dialysis.
And in late breaking tempest-in-a-blogpot news – David Maclean stands accused of employing pseudonyms to “harrass” left-wing blogs with such “hateful” comments as “Why didn’t they put out an RFP for this?, “I don’t hate the media.” and “change the clocks for more light at night”.
Well, I’ve seen enough – Go David!
(And – don’t miss the cheerleading for “giant political mouse”, led by “janfromthebruce”, “ti-guy”, “Zorpheous”, “Red Tory”, “Paladiea”, “leftdog”….)
Busy day here, so add to the list in the comments.

  1. Went to giant politcal mouse’s blog.
Outrage. Childish name calling. Pride and self-congratulations all around for having busted somebody for not being PC enough (which is rare, coming from the “f@%& the Jews” crowd). A unanomous jury conviction based on manufactured evidence. Oh, and censorship.
Typical socialist behaviour. Why did I bother.

  2. Daughter, [airline employee], gave me free tickets for Vancouver and back some time ago.
Guess I will never fly again. Unable to get motivated to visit the big smoke?
Don*t want to get frisked by people who take themselves way too seriously?
Its pretty bad when a person prefers not to fly even when its free of charge.
Free ferry tickets, on the other hand, now those could be welcome. I always enjoyed being on the salt chuck.
I often pick up a friend at the new Comox air port. Flying has really changed from the 70s and 80s. = TG

  3. As a Tyee reader, we know that you care about quality independent journalism. We bet you’d also agree that media monopoly is no laughing matter. In fact, it’s the reason we started The Tyee in the first place.
Just lately, buying frenzies have gotten many people worried: CTVglobemedia swallowing CHUM; Rupert Murdoch pushing a $5 billion takeover of the Wall Street Journal; and Thomson Corp. dealing $18 billion to gulp Reuters.
If you feel like you’re battling through a sea of media muck, you’re not alone.
Watch The Tyee’s new video, and cheer on your fine-finned friends as they take on the Big Media barons.
