Update 2 – Whoo hoo! Catfight!

Noreen Golfman, chairwoman of the Friends’ steering committee, responded in writing last week with the suggestion that Rabinovitch and other administrators can’t seem to take the criticism.
“We ourselves would always prefer open channels of communication and mature, adult and civil discourse,” wrote Ms. Golfman, also associate dean of graduate studies at Memorial University.
“However, from your communication and others from your colleagues in the recent past we have come reluctantly to the conclusion that this may have to await the arrival of a new CBC president.”

And a sharp catch from a reader. Just where have we heard the name Noreen Golfman before?

  1. Read it. Dont find anything particularly objectionable in it. What exactly should I be looking for?

  2. I interpret the results of the polls to mean that a great many people must have a difficult time breathing, seeing as how their heads are shoved into very uncomfortable places.

  3. I typed in the headline from CTV(tass) saying “latest poll shows Dion , Liberals losing support”
    and it came back.
“Harper regime causes opposition leader popularity arrest , opposition party support suspended”
CBCpravda will have to pull out the big guns on this one Peter Pansbridge, leader of the fantasy world. Kneel MacDonald toady to the liberal party. VanDusen – the wacko with the weedwhacker hairdo.
Borat Dion has a problem – muzzle his underlings-Garth Turner, Scooter Brison ,Iggy or take on everything himself in unintellgable Dionglish. and maybe the MSM has inadvertantly helped the CPC by relating every story to global warming. from loosing outdoor ice to plate tectonics its all the result of driving the kiddies to soccer.

  4. CTV QP on Sunday was in the advice mode for Dion, on how he should ‘take control’ of his party…this in response to the goofy Coderre and Holland rants. Cute the way Fife, and Oliver feel it is their responsibility to save Libs and Dion from the dive.
These are the same talking heads that don’t hesitate to call Harper a ‘control freak’ every chance they get.
The media just don’t get it…Canadians are making up their own mind in spite of the biased reporting. Can we say ‘redundant’?

  5. You have to take some comfort as a band of self-important Canadian socialists scrap over taxpayer lucre and their ever dwindling insignificance on Canadian arts programming.

  6. Heh. Anyone else notice that the Chair of the “Friends” steering committee is none other than Noreen Golfman? She of the “poor sod” remark about a double-amputee soldier (Paul Franklin) that Rick Mercer slapped so soundly and deservedly earlier this year?

  7. “Never has the United States been so alienated from the rest of the world.”
Another case of the socialist elites projecting their views on others.
The real poll shows people from all around the world are still voting with their feet and moving to the USA.

  8. I typed in
“Prime Minister Harper visits local Seniors Centre”
    and it came back
” Forty-four Canadian soldiers as well as one diplomat have been killed in Afghanistan since 2002.”

  9. just a loving note to jeremiah, albatross, and all the other leftard moonbat idiots who troll here on a regular basis
    1. if asswipe cretin did not play local politik, and allowed Canadian soldiers the lead into Baghdad, many thousands of lives would have been saved(I have friends who stood the line between Iran and Iraq, believe you me, we would have made a difference)
    2. why don’t you guys join dr fruit fly’s “amazing moonbat save the world for retards tour”…at least it would appear that you are putting your money where your leftard mouth’s are
    3. what on earth are you morons going to do once GWB is replaced by a democrat, who, upon seeing the briefing notes from the CIA, NSA, etc, will not change any aspect on the war on terror?

  10. Calgary Herald this morning said.
“PM Paul Martin solicited support from terrorist group”. So I typed in that headline and I got
“Lactating mothers should not eat Tuna”
so the CBCalize box also prioritizes stories -so cool.

  11. Used Mary Walsh’s endearing remarks to Peter McKay, as shown on Newsworld, from an East Coast Music award show this past weekend:
    “conservative a&#e-licking Satan”
The results, from a retired Canadian diplomat, no less:

  12. What exactly should I be looking for?

    Proof that,…
If it’s not in a brown enevelope , libs have no clue.

  13. Rick Mercer wrote that wonderfully concise, scathing response? I guess when it hits Rick close to home he can really be quite constructive in his criticisms. One wonders why he such a whore to the CBC. Maybe he’s just an opportunist? Great column nontheless. Maybe he could unsheath his pen again to discuss Liberal hypocracy.

  14. I typed in “Baby robin falls from nest” and got a transcript from yesterdays National.
Mansbridge: Another sign of Global Warming was in evidence today at an elementary school in the Ottawa suburb of Savon Dans la Salle de Bains. Grade five students there are striving to save the life of a young robin that has fallen out of its nest. Physical education instructor Louis le Sauteur, said that he had never seen robins nesting so early in the year. “J’ai enseigné à cette école pendant presque quatre années et n’ai avant jamais été témoin d’une telle chose. Son incroyable !’
To get some insight on this incident we now go to Campbell River BC to talk to Dr. David Suzuki. David is a Canadian science broadcaster and environmental activist. Since the mid 1970s, Suzuki has become known for his TV and radio series and books about nature and the environment. He is best known as host of the popular and long-running CBC TV science magazine, The Nature of Things, seen in syndication in over 40 nations.
Good afternoon David, sorry to interrupt you in the middle of a round of golf. Your weather is quite different from what we see Ottawa today. What’s your take on this incident?
Suzuki: Hi Peter, nice to talk to you. What can I say; this is just another example of the earth getting warmer. It’s not unusual for birds to be nesting at this time of year on the West Coast but in Ottawa that’s just crazy. The animals are doing crazy things because Global Warming has mixed them up.
Mansbridge: I’d like to delve into that a little deeper, are you saying David….. David… David.. is there a problem there?
Suzuki: Oh no Oh no! I’ve just stepped on a little baby salamander with my golf spikes. Sh..t, Sh..t, Sh..t, I don’t believe this I don’t ffing believe this!
    Mansbridge: David are you okay?
Suzuki: Am I okay, am I okay? Of course I’m not okay. Salamanders are not supposed to leave their burrows for at least another six weeks! I’ve just turned a Quadra Island salamander into a pin cushion. There are only 47 of these magnificent creatures left in the wild. How can you ask me if I’m okay? I’m a world renowned environmentalist for f—k sake!
Mansbridge: Were going to take a little break here but when we come back will have this story for you…..

  15. Paul Martin and the terrorists. It wasnt just a coincidence that the first Canadian aid for the tsunami went to Tamil areas not to where the brunt of the devastation took place. It did take a month for the “emergency ” aid to arrive but it was very political.
