  1. I just want to say that I beleive this blog thing will be even more important when the next federal election takes place.
SDA and others will have to provide the truth of what is really going on in the news world, and we as readers need to pass this on to those not on the internet.
    Merry Christmas everyone.
    LIVE LONG & PROSPER.

  2. Watch for the supposed reduction in green house gas emmissions from the US during the next year. The EPA has just changed the reporting of emmissions. Any industry releasing over 1000T of GHG, had to report same. That has now been raised to 4000T, before one has to report. What will this do to Dions kyoto god. The story says this change will distort all information, affect lots of organizations of the envirowackos.
And, to all CWB employees, spend the farmers money wisely, while they face the real stress.
Smart move by the new President, to get all farmers mad at the board, and demand its demise.

  3. Why doesn’t Jim Travers run for parliament? Considering what he writes he has the intelligence to be a Liberal MP.
    http://www.thestar.com/News/article/164569
He has to be the most ignorant member of the media I think I have ever read. There’s is no point in even bothering to debate this guy.

Have a good Christmas Kate, thanks for exposing the recent party promotions the MSM has done for the Liberals regarding the CWB. If a bunch of people sitting around with computers and the internet can figure out the “independent” sources aren’t so “independent” one has to ask what the MSM is for?

  4. Well it’s begining to look alot like Christmas,
Iam retailed out & looking forward to closing the store for a few days.
if anyone remembers the story i told last year about the customer telling me that it was politicaly, socialy incorrect to say Merry Christmas & I told him to f***O** Get the F*** Out & stay out & have a Merry Christmas ya treehugging commi wh*** & that’s being socialy correct pal.
Well all of those customers that were in the store have come back & even brought a few more & everyone has said,
    Merry Christmas
And to all a good night.

  5. Just wanted to take the opportunity today to say a big thank-you for all the hard work, solid info/debate that has gone on here the past yr.Also, for the humorous spin some of you have put on stories!I love coming here,am always enlightened, and truly feel it’s like a family in a lot of ways.Kate has gathered the most informed, the brightest, the funniest..the BEST bunch of people, and lots of days it has been my “bright spot” visiting here,so a big Thanks Guys & Gals !
This Christmas season has been tough..away from family, and close friends, working both Xmas eve,and Xmas day,but I truly love my job,so that’s o.k.I also got the terrible news,my “baby”sister diagnosed with cancer Dec.21,so that was tough to hear. So,if any of you are spiritual,an extra word to the Big Guy would be appreciated. We really need to be thankful for good health, families close by,and focus more on what matters,as opposed to a lot of crass commercial things.
Didn’t mean to be a downer,I really just wanted to say a heartfelt thanks to all of you..you make my days brighter, give me a good laugh, and something to look forward to a lot of days! So,Merry CHRISTmas to all of you..and a blessed safe, season! Sammy

  6. Alot of Liberal bloggers made up stories about Harper misleading the media when he stated he never discussed the nation motion with Dion during his interview with Don Newman.
In particular one of Dion’s campaign co-chairs,a lawyer snothead with his own blog blamed Harper and the pmo for misinformation and dared anyone to provide a link proving otherwise.Well, after trying several times to post the link on his blog the little puke seems afraid to show it.So for everyone here, this is the reason the media, including the Toronto Star and Fife at CTV reported Harper called Dion.
“NATIONAL NEWSWATCH – During an interview Thursday afternoon with New Brunswick talk radio show host Tom Young, Liberal Leadership candidate Stephane Dion took partial credit for Prime Minister Harper’s stand asking the House of Commons to declare that Quebec is a nation — “within a united Canada.” ….
Describing himself as a “trouble fixer,” Dion told host Tom Young that the prime minister called him for advice on how to solve the Quebec Nation issue. Dion indicated he advised the PM on how to fix the problem. He also indicated that he will be supporting the government motion because it’s very close to the solution he freely gave the prime minister.
ADDITIONAL INFO SINCE ORIGINAL INSIDER POSTING:
All future references to Dion will include “Trouble Fixer.” On a side note, and in addition to the above account of Dion’s interview. Dion said Harper sought his advice on the situation because he was the “Unity Minister” in a former Liberal government.
Now compare that with his statement this week!!
Meanwhile, Dion seemed to downplay the apparent discrepancy over his involvement on Wednesday, though he did accuse Harper of “playing games.”
“He did not phone me personally, and nobody pretended that,” said Dion, who was in Winnipeg to express his support for the Canadian Wheat Board monopoly on marketing wheat and barley in the wake of Ottawa’s decision to fire the agency’s president a day earlier.”
Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year

  7. Sammy, first off…a heartfelt hope that your sister will find full health to be her partner….and ditto to the sentiments about the sharing that goes on here.
Langmann, I totally agree with you on Travers.
Yesterday, while he was on a panel with Don Newman, his slip of the tongue calling Dion, “Prime Minister”, stuck out like a skunk.

  9. From Colby Cosh .com:
    =======================================
Was Belinda the dumber one in the Stronach-MacKay relationship? Think carefully before you answer! A week or so ago I was researching impaired-driving law for an editorial I ended up not writing, and I found some intriguing minutes from a 1999 hearing of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights. The topic: methods of blood-alcohol measurement and their history. We yield the floor to Peter MacKay:
“My question is this. DNA is being used more and more in crime prevention and in solving crime. Do you ever see a day where DNA might enter into the equation of impaired driving? Can they detect drugs or alcohol by virtue of DNA? It’s something I’ve always wondered.”
I’ve been sitting on this item for a while, wondering if I was overinterpreting it and whether it’s a fair thing to bring up. I was raised to believe there is no such thing as a stupid question, and I suppose there are a lot of people who don’t really know what the hell DNA is. But honestly, how many of them are former Crown prosecutors with two university degrees?

  10. Bush is the Decider, coward dion is the Trouble Fixer. Too bad he can’t or wont fix the trouble with the liberals and admit they are very corrupt. And, he sure wont fix the trouble with liberals failure to elect mps in western canada.
Missed Travers on Newman. Did he really call dion PM. Time for new years resolutions. Mine will be to expose every lie the media tries to pass off as truth, with help from Kate and her readers. Lets take a page from Martin Luther King, and sing, We shall overcome media bias, liberal lies, kyoto lies, attempts to cover up dions french connections, for a start.
Merry Christmas to all SDA readers, and thanks for an informative year.
To all the trolls, may you receive lumps of coal, we know when you were created and were offered brains, you thought HE said trains and said No Thanks.

  11. Well it’s begining to look alot like Christmas,
Last week the shopping center where me and wife occasionally shop was hosting a school choir. They sang Christmas Carols beautifully. This is such a contrast from previous years! Could it be because of a Conservative Government in Ottawa? Probably not; but then again, all the activist Liberal shills carried great influence when uncle Jean was in power.

  12. A few topics back (History of religion in 90 seconds), ‘Old Hack’ commented on the benevolence and civilised behaviour shown to Hindus by various Muslim invaders into India. His comments are outrageously false and misleading as finally pointed out by ‘Sons of monkeys and swine.’
I’m commenting here in the hope that this topic doesn’t get overlooked.
    To clarify the matter:
The American historian Will Durant summed it up like this: ‘The Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It’s a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex of order and freedom, culture and peace, can at any moment be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within.’ The fears of Will Durant are getting confirmed in letter and spirit today.
The Muslim conquests, down to the 16th century, were for the Hindus a pure struggle of life and death. Entire cities were burnt down and the population massacred, with hundreds of thousands of Hindus killed in every campaign and similar numbers exported as slaves. Every new invader made (often literally) his hills of Hindu skulls. Thus the conquest of Afghanistan in the year 1000 was followed by the annihilation of the Hindu population. This region is called the ‘Hindu Kush’ ie ‘Hindu Slaughter’. The Bahmani Sultans (1347 – 1480) in Central India made it a rule to kill 100,000 Hindus every year. In 1399, Timur killed 100,000 Hindu captives in a single day and many more on other occasions. The conquest of the Vijayanagar Empire after the battle of Talikota in 1565 left the capital plus large areas of Karnataka depopulated. According to Arjun Singh, Historical Record Destruction (HRD) for Human Resource Destruction (HRD) these facts accepted round the world do not exist. In his book ‘Growth of Muslim Population in India’ K S Lal has estimated that the Indian population decreased by 80 million between the year of conquest of Afghanistan in 1000 AD and the end of Delhi Sultanate in 1525.
The outright barbarity shown by Muslims towards Hindus has carried on into the present, ie the Mumbai train bombings, and the recent murder of Sukhanand Shetty, a well respected Hindu leader.
It’s enough that we have to sort through the lies and deceptions of a plethora of Muslim organisations, such as the Islamist/terrorist front organisation – CAIR. Now we have to deal with apologists like ‘Old Hack’ helping them.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Old Hack is spreading disinformation. This has been a problem on other blogs and may be organised. It’s called taqiyya.

  13. At Canada.com, under politics, Harper makes appointments, click on that, and scroll down to the adds by Google. Angus Reid has a poll, will Dion be canadas next PM. So far, 55% say no. Seems Harper pulled a fast one, and made 40 patronage appointments, with Conservatives. Some were to the immigration board, and other boards where libs have ruled. Liberals are upset. Appointments take effect Jan 1/07 and are for at least 3 years. Way to go. He has to get all those positions filled before the libs can do it with crooks.

Oil-for-food programme’s documents to be transferred to UN
    Hindustan Times ^ | December 23 2006 | Press Trust of India
Documents from an 18-month investigation into corruption in the UN oil-for-food programme will be legally transferred to the United Nations on January 1 to ensure safekeeping and will be made available to governments trying to prosecute alleged wrongdoers, the United Nations said.
The voluminous archive was complied by the Independent Inquiry Committee, led by former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker, whose final report in October 2005 accused more than 2,200 companies from some 40 countries of colluding with Saddam Hussein’s regime to bilk the humanitarian programme in Iraq of USD 1.8 billion.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said Secretary-General Kofi Annan on Friday signed a document on UN handling of the committee’s files. It creates a UN Office of the Independent Inquiry Committee on January 1 for an initial two-year period to preserve, manage, store and provide access to the documents.

  16. paulsstuff: “Dion said Harper sought his advice on the situation because he was the “Unity Minister” in a former Liberal government.”
Citoyen Dion was the Unity Minister for AdScam; Gagliano ratted on Dion at the Gomery Inquiry.
Gagliano said: ” There was Mr. StĂ©phane
Dion who looked after getting the messages across.”
Dion has said he is M/Mr. Honesty-Integrity; this has been said by many, too many. Dion was/is a keyman in the theft-bribery-vote buying-blackmail-corruption of AdScam.
Gagliano said the Liberals all knew that the AdScam $$$$$$$ came from the National Unity Reserve, aka the Unity fund/office of Citoyen Dion.
Chretien ordered the transfer$; Dion executed the orders. Dion is a liar; he has no integrity.
    Dion: A librano$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
    Extract from Gomery:
MR. ROY: Did you agree, as the Minister responsible,
with the strategy that had been implemented to raise the profile
of the federal government in Quebec by using, among other
    things, sponsorship activities?
MR. GAGLIANO: Yes, I was in full agreement and the
sponsorship activities were one of a host of other activities of
this type that could be implemented. For example, even within my
own Department, there was the Federal Identity Program, to put
the Canada wordmark on all Government of Canada buildings across
the country. When the Deputy Minister, Mr. Quail, came to see me
for the first time to brief me, I remember and he had said,
“Minister, it will take a few years to implement because we have
    no money” and I said,
“Can you start with Quebec, please? It’s
there — there is a feeling that there is where we need to
    start.”
    Of course, there were others.
    There was Mr. Stéphane
Dion who looked after getting the messages across. There was
the CIO that was doing other things —
MR. ROY: The Clarity Act, there are many —
MR. GAGLIANO: That came a bit later, yes.
    …….
MR. ROY: I did say, and maybe you did not understand
me, regarding the method of financing, regarding the way in
which these activities were financed with the Reserve Fund.
    MR. GAGLIANO: Ah, Yes. Okay.
In that sense, I don’t know. In my capacity as the
Minister responsible, I learned about it at my first meeting
with Mr. Guité, so I did not know before that, and I imagine
that, yes, it was not that well known that the budget came from
    the National Unity Fund.
MR. ROY: Would you say that even in your own
entourage, in other words, in your office, not many people knew
that the sponsorship activities were funded through the National
    Unity Reserve?
MR. GAGLIANO: I couldn’t say that, because I never
discussed it with those people. So I was never asked the
    question.
MR. ROY: Several of your former collaborators and
colleagues have been questioned, Mr. Gagliano, before this
    Commission —
MR. GAGLIANO: Yes, Yes. I knew that.
MR. ROY: — and several have stated that at the
meetings, when it was time to talk about sponsorships, there was
    a degree of secrecy.
And there I would refer you to Ms. Bouvier’s
testimony, the testimony of Patrick Lebrun at page 5377, who
explained that the other assistants had to leave the room when
the subject of sponsorships came up and, finally, the testimony
    of Ghyslaine Ippersiel.
So would you agree with the fact that there was a
degree of silence surrounding this whole sponsorship file?
MR. GAGLIANO: No. I don’t agree at all and I will
    tell you why. …-

  17. Thanks Kate
For all the time and energy you have dedicated to SDA….it shows and let’s hope the hard work pays off.SDA truly earned the 2006 Award.
I’d also like to wish Merry Christmas to all who inhabit the political blog sites: You all know who you are.
Its exciting when one realizes that we are an integral part of history in the making.
Politics and pending information ,as we have known it in the past is no longer acceptable and so will continue to go through growing pains for (well we can hope indefinitely)The MSM is fast becoming outdated as a means of imparting meaningful info and because of this should gracefully step down though I won’t hold my breath to that thought.
It therefore falls on us to keep the reliable information channels open as I believe that the ultimate goal of One World Gov’t is to close that door with a clang.
Whether or not this becomes a struggle on the lines of organised resistance such as occured in Europe during WW2 remains to be seen.
    We should be prepared.
Of course if we can help keep freedom respecting governments in power then the need for alarmism (sic) should remain minimal.
That is after all what I believe is guiding all of us: this quest to attain and maintain freedom of choice tempered by a morality that embraces honesty as its beacon.
However enough said on that by me this holiday season.
Again I wish you all a most joyous Christmas and an agreeable new year.
    Best Wishes
    Simon & Shelly

  19. Anyone catch this one in the Mop and Pail (G&M) on Wednesday Dec 21st?
    “StĂ©phane Dion builds his team
    Print Edition 20/12/06 Page A22
When Paul Martin unveiled his first cabinet in December of 2003, Stephane Dion was not in it. Mr. Dion might have been one of the Liberals’ most successful ministers, but in part because he had shown loyalty to former prime minister Jean Chretien he was banished to the backbenches. To his credit, —- Prime Minister Dion — has not repeated the mistakes of Mr. Martin, whose first acts as Liberal leader were to punish opponents in the party, perpetuating internecine fighting and contributing to his eventual political failure. ”
Notice that this rag, G&M has annointed Stephane Dion as the Prime Minister. No need to have another costly general election…. right?
And these “journalist” want us to believe that they don’t have a hidden agenda?

  20. I keep hearing in the MSM that Mr. Dion is squeaky clean as far as Liberal scandals are concerned. Didn’t he sit around the same caucus table as Paul Martin and Chretien while millions were being stolen from the weary Canadian taxpayer??? I can’t believe what is being said–I hope people are smart enough to know better!

  21. Kate, Best wishes for 2007. I stop by at least once per day. I realize this must take a lot of time on your part, but SDA has become indespensible to all those who look for the news less the MSM left-wing spin. Come election time we all need to go to work and make sure that Dion and his gang of bandits don’t get to hi-jack Canada once again. We need Harper for at least four more years to help clean this country up and get it back on track.
My advise to Stephane and “Taliban” Jack would be to throw a big chicken dinner for all their supporters…it wouldn’t cost a lot ’cause all they have to serve are left wings and assholes!
Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy Festivis for the rest of us!

  22. So who is Myriam Bedard afraid of?
Myriam you may recall blew the whistle on the Corruption at CN Rail, headed up at the time by a Chretien appointee.
Drug dealing was mentioned in her testimony, if I recall.
MSM vilified her at the time.
But then MSM had been blind to the corruption in government for over a decade, so why no investigative journalism into Bedard’s testimony?
    Curious.
    Nuanced MSM journalism.
    Stay safe Myriam!

  23. and a happy festivus to all.
and before you jump all over that greating remember: NO mention of a specific date for the birth of Christ.
the 25th day of the 12th month is rooted in PAGANISM. a ploy, a tactic to get them on board the burgeoning new religion.

  24. I went over and read the article (if I could call it that, mud slinging is more like it) by Jim Travers, Langmann.
I was amazed, then angry, but in the end I felt sorry for this miserable lump of a man. He is a sleazy left wing whacko but this article is a bottom trolling, grade five attempt to discredit and insult our Prime Minister with out and out slurs and innuendos.
I know he has his ‘rah, rah’ gang and some of the people that liked being robbed and lied to by their ‘betters’ (they think it is ‘cute’ or ‘coy’ that a elected gang of thugs can ‘get away’ with high treason and robbery – from them – whom the thugs laugh at as fools behind their backs – eg msm journalists) will think this smear piece will bring the Prime Minister to his knees.
It will not, Jimmy – can I call you Jimmy like Mo tse Strong does? You can jump on the Cretin (sorry wrong spelling, I can’t seem to fix it though) revival wagon and see what you can do with the Martianites to bring them onside with the dyohonitides (the Cret crew) but I doubt that the taxpayers are as stupid as you hope they will be.
You can thump your wee chest and push your yellow pen, you can feign the courage that you wish you had but you will not faze Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. Mr. Harper has Justice and Democracy and Accountability in his sights; those abstract nouns are popular with taxpayers. Your guy lacks credibility on all the ‘values’ that most Canadians value.
    Merry Christmas.
Sammy, I am so sorry to hear about your little sister. I will say a prayer for her and for yourself; do not lose heart, it is Christmas and the Lord is listening closely. I think that you are one of his favorites.
You are one of my favorite posters, I always read what you write because I never detect any doublespeak or agenda driven radicalism. Just down to earth truth. Another abstract noun that I like.

As trophy of victory “an order was given to set up a pillar of pagan heads.” A similar tower of pagan heads was piled up after the success at Chanderi against Medini Rai. We made general massacre of pagans in it. A pillar of pagan heads was ordered set up on a hill northwest of Chanderi (and) converted what for many years had been a mansion of hostility, into a mansion of Islam.

  29. I was over at the Old Strathcona Market in Edmonton this afternoon and outside the market there was some guy dressed up in a Santa Claus outfit chanting ‘Stephen Harper, naughty or nice’. There also seemed to be some sort of table set up, perhaps for people to sign a petition or something. I ignored the whole street show, assuming that it must be some sort of leftist ploy (who else could it be) to exploit the crowds of Christmas shoppers at the market, but I suspect that they were doing themselves more harm than good, politicizing the Christmas season like that. It would have been much more appropriate if the character in red and white had been wearing a Grinch costume.

  33. Mississauga Matt,
Thanks for reading the post and adding to it. As I said and I believe, there is an Islamic disinformation program that I believe is organised and at liberty to operate in the west, even though they want to overthrow our constitution and way of life. This is as much an information war as any other type of warfare. I thought the historian, Will durant, was prescient in what he said:
It’s a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex of order and freedom, culture and peace, can at any moment be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within.’

Suppose you discovered that this Constitution’s most prominent themes were pain and punishment, thievery and violence, intolerance and war.
If the regime’s charter ordered its devotees to kill, plunder, and terrorize, would you sound an alarm?
What if this Constitution was supported by a manifesto that contained the only authorized biography of the regime’s founder, and the first devotees of this doctrine, its co-founders, said that their leader was a sexual predator, a pirate, and a terrorist? If you found such evidence, what would you do with it? What if this leader motivated his mercenaries to murder and mayhem by allowing them to keep what they had stolen in the name of the cause – their victim’s homes, businesses, money – even their women and children?
All right, no more hypotheticals. I’m going to share some passages from this Constitution – from the covenant of the world’s largest and most violent organization. I have changed the names to disguise the source without altering the message. “Your leader has sent you from your homes to fight for the cause. Your leader wished to confirm the truth by his words: wipe those who disagree with us out to the last. We shall terrorize everyone who is unlike us! So smite them on their necks and every joint, and incapacitate them, for they are opposed to our doctrine and our leader. Whosoever opposes our doctrine and our leader should know that we are severe in retribution. And know that one-fifth of what you acquire as booty in war is for our great leader (the rest is for you). The use of such spoils is lawful and good.”
This popular and misunderstood Constitution says: “Fight them till all opposition ends and only our doctrine rules. If you meet anyone who disagrees with us in battle, inflict on them such a defeat as would be a lesson for those who come after them, that they may be warned. Slaughter those who disagree with us wherever you find them. Lie in wait for them. They are specimens of foolishness. Punish them so that our superior dogma and leader can put them to shame. If you apprehend treachery from a people with whom we have a treaty, retaliate by breaking it off. Those who do not think like us should know that they cannot bypass our doctrine. Surely they cannot get away. Fight them until they pay a heavy tax in submission to us; how perverse are they. Our leader and his doctrine will damn them. For anyone who offends our leader or opposes our doctrine will receive a painful punishment. We will burn them alive. So prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster, that you may strike terror in the enemies of our cause!”
This Constitution is genuine, and millions follow its message. Exposing it – understanding it – might actually save you from the wrath it inspires. The covenant goes on to say: …-

  36. End-game For Trusts
    Terence Corcoran
    National Post
As markets make the transition into the New Year, here’s hoping the income trust sector and its vast network of backers make the move without blowing themselves up. After two months of hysteria, punctuated by bouts of delusion and malevolent rhetoric, it is now time to move on to a realistic appraisal.
Finally, we will now have a more rational tax system.
By closing the tax loophole on trusts, the Harper government is curbing the growth of a business class dependent on a tax break.
For this, the government deserves credit.

  37. Archive sheds light on Nazi death camps
BAD AROLSEN, Germany – Within weeks of Hitler’s 1933 rise to power, the iron gates slammed shut on inmates of the first Nazi concentration camps. It was the start of an unparalleled experiment in persecution and genocide that expanded over the next 12 years into a pyramid of ghettos, Gestapo prisons, slave labor camps and, ultimately, extermination factories.
Holocaust historians are only now piecing together the scattered research in many languages to understand the vast scope of the camps, prisons and punishment centers that scarred German-ruled Europe, like a pox on the landscape stretching from Greece to Norway and eastward into Russia.
Collecting and analyzing fragmented reports, researchers at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum say they have pinpointed some 20,000 places of detention and persecution — three times more than they estimated just six years ago.
And soon they will know much more.

In 1941 the Germans devised the Final Solution to exterminate Europe’s Jews. In September, even before the plan was formally approved, the SS began experimenting with gas chambers at Auschwitz, about 40 miles from the Polish city of Krakow.
Auschwitz was the largest of six camps whose primary purpose was to kill Jews at maximum speed. In 1941-42, more death camps were built in Chelmno, Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka and Majdanek.
By the time Germany capitulated in May 1945 and disbelieving Allied forces marched into the camps, 2.7 million people had been incinerated in the ovens or open pits of these six compounds. Of every three Jews in Europe at the start of the war, two were dead. …-

  38. ‘Kids home. ‘Tree decorated. ‘So much to be thankful for, not the least of which is Kate and SDA and other ‘sanity-saver’ blogs.
‘Had almost given up hope until I discovered the blogosphere this year, a bit of a miracle at my age. ‘Wonderful to know that there are like-minded allies “out there,” companions on the road, who have detected the same mud-slinging, truth-denying, surrender-monkey politics going on in Ottawa and the MSM. To not feel alone is a great gift.
    So thanks, fellow-bloggers.
Sammy, I will pray for your sister at Mass tomorrow. Lift her up to God’s mercy and to Mary, whose prayers are a mother’s prayers, and continue to be thankful. That’s more than half the battle.
Oh thou that tellest good tidings to Zion,
    Get thee up into the high mountain;
O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem,
    Lift up thy voice with strength;
    Lift it up, be not afraid;
Say unto the cities of Judah:
    Behold, your God.
    — Isaiah 60:1

  39. BATB,
I think it’s interesting that people from all races, creeds, differences in age and gender can still agree on what is right. I’m a Pentecostal from a family of preachers who is married to the love of my life, a Catholic.
I see on this blog people who aren’t enjoined by anything other than what they believe to be right, or perhaps, wrong. Some, like ET, are confirmed atheists – I obviously don’t agree on that point, but she’s a great mind and I’d like to think we agree on one thing: Rational thought as a prerequisite to finding the right answer.
But despite whatever differences we all may have, let’s rejoice in this Christmas season and what it means.
    Peace and goodwill towards all.

  40. I’m inspired by BATB (9:19 pm.) to find the earlier verses from Isaiah that were used to begin the great Handel Messiah:
1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned:
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
As inspirational today as when they were first written. Merry Christmas everyone.

  41. Thank you friends for your kind words, and your prayers. They do mean so much.I also come from a pentecostal background..Uncle was a minister, some missionaries also in family.I know from past experience prayers do help, and for you non-believers..they can’t hurt! God bless you all.My burden feels lighter knowing it’s shared.

  42. Sammy. I know that all who visit this site and have come to know you by your postings pray for your sister as well as for your whole family. I hope that knowing we care helps you. May you find strength and hope in those prayers.
