After volunteering to Adler guest host Christy Clark that he had “a quarter million readers a day” during the last federal election, I pulled up Warren Kinsella’s traffic stats page. (screenshot) He’s currently averaging 4,300.
Now, I’ll give him credit where it’s due – he makes them publicly available. (Which is more than Bourque will ever risk.) But after calling to point out that he was guilty of counting “hits”, not “readers”, and that his traffic during the election campaign actually averaged around 12,000 visits a day – he suddenly declared traffic to be unimportant. and he’d leave that to the “propeller heads”.
Heh. I now believe him when he claims he knew nothing about Adscam.
And thanks to caller “Lloyd”, who came to the defense of SDA after the Kinsella cheap shot. Why is it that Liberal politicos go into “drone defense” – speaking slower .. and .. slower … and … slower … never … stopping … for … breath…when they know we know they’re full of “bs”?

FYI Christy Clark is a long time provincial liberal MLA who was deputy premier when she resigned after having a baby. She then ran for mayor of Vancouver but lost the party nomination to Sam Sullivan. Her brother is Bruce Clark (Federal liberal executive) and husband Mark Marrisen (Federal liberal organizer) were both questioned in an ongoing investigation about influence pedaling – neither was implicated.
Her husband worked for years as Paul Martin’s chief BC organizer resulting in the Martin team taking over control of the majority of liberal riding associations. When Martin won Mr. Christy Clark was riding high making big bucks after years of being in the wilderness. When Harper won, Mr. Christy Clark was out of work and is now an adviser to one of the leadership candidates.
Any comments Christy Clark makes on federal politics should be viewed from the perspective that Stephen Harper cost her husband his cushy job and could be why Ms. Christy Clark is now working as a talk show host.
Why do media people never disclose their blatant conflicts of interest yet demand this from everyone else?

Kate, I don’t comment here often, but SDA is the second place I go every day (after Tim Blair). You are performing a valuable service as well as providing a forum to those of us who don’t believe in labels. I consider myself to be a “common-sensist”; neither right or left.
I’m sure that Mr Kinsella is salveagable material. He just needs to abandon obsessive committment to a political party and open himself up to logic, common sense and objectivity.
Perhaps we could all chip in and buy him a copy of “America Alone”.

The key concerns regarding salvage material are structural integrity and ability to hold up under stress. The cost of salvage and all the expensive labour for any custom work must also be factored in. /half sarc
Mr. Kinsellas’ complaints about any threats on himself or his family are valid and understandable. But IMHO, Mr. Kinsella is spinning his complaint in the wrong direction. Kate called him about his web site numbers and he responded by trying to associate her with people who would attack children. WTF?
IMO, Warren, your behavior on this issue does not exactly -Kick Ass-. It is more like an attempted kneecapping. However Kate McMillan is a little fast on her skates for that and you are looking a bit like Tanya Harding here.
Also concrete, which is worse. Supporting a Political Party that appoints Judges who turn Pedophiles loose, again and again, OR wishing a child gets raped. One is deplorable the other is criminal.
That version of events is the correct one. I had initially forgotten that he requested his comment be deleted via private email… at about the same time I got one from Mr. Kinsella threatening to launch the “biggest lawsuit in the history of the Dominion”.. against someone he knew only as “ebt”.

It’s the same page I provided in the original post – and if you read closely, you’ll discover Warren Kinsella’s highest traffic during the federal election occured on Jan 19th, with just over 18,800 visits recorded.
He implied in his on-air interview that he had a quarter million readers a day – and presented the information in the context of a newspaper publisher astonishment that his exceeded that of national newspapers.
He’s not the only one who inflates his traffic by counting “hits” as though they were individual readers. Until yesterday, he had plausable deniability – though claiming ignorance of the technology is pretty lame.
Now, he doesn’t. And he should get his facts straight before he presumes to speak with any authority about the “blogosphere”.
Easy, isn’t it Kate. First Wells, now Kinsella. When one always has the truth on their side, kicking butt is easy.
The Elite and the MSM has been at it so long, they don’t even realize when they lie. Before the Blogs no one ever called them on it either. And of course, the so called blogs WITHOUT a comments section, .. well, I guess we now know why.
