You know it’s really tough to get a clear picture of what’s going on. So many talking heads making a buck on these guys and spewing out whatever they spew.
It is such a pleasure, a joy just to here one of these guys talk about their job. All I can say is weather Canadian or American gives me a tear in the eye and just plain proud and honored to be in such company.
My Thanks to whoever you are.
Oh and somebody in the political world and the news world shut up and listen to someone who knows what they are talking about for a change instead of masturbating your ego.

I always feel a mixture of pride and embarrassment whenever I come across one of these guys (or girls): Pride that the human race still produces these people, embarrassment that I am not more like them.
FYI, John Donovan had this up on September 18th. Which is not a knock on Kate at all, but rather a tip that if you want the skinny on what U.S. servicemen are thinking and talking and doing, Castle Argghhh!!! should be a daily stop.
Well said tower. I suspect that if the pols did less talking and more listening and supporting, the guys on the ground could get the situation under control much sooner. It’s heart wrenching to read some of the blogs of the average Iraqis. The impression I get is that most of them want pretty much the same things we want in everyday life, but death and chaos are being rained down on them by the idealogues and zealots.
Thanks Kate for posting this…
