Peter Warren

One of the best talk show hosts in Canada is doing his final broadcast this weekend. Thanks, Peter – you’ve provided a lot of weekend entertainment around here, (as well as more than a few items that have made their way to SDA). You’ll be missed.

  1. I only listen to “Warren on the Weekend” on the rare occasion that I’m travelling on Saturday mornings, but for the most part really enjoyed his show.
Sorry to hear that he’s turning off the mic.

  2. Thank you Peter!
Best of luck to you, don’t be afraid to “pop by” from time to time,I know a lot of people that would like to hear your voice again.
But tell me,how do you replace an old and trusted friend?

  3. I’m really going to miss Peter. No replacement has been announced as yet, however. Some pretty big shoes to fill, though.

  4. The last show I heard of his, he was talking with a sex doctor, and a blind man from Saskatoon called in and asked if there was any information relating to erotica for the blind. I figure if there isn’t anything, then someone on the Internet could make a lot of money filling that niche in the porn/erotica industry.

  5. Warren will be missed…I listened often when he was exposing yet another incident of bureaucratic tyranny of ineptitude.
Tom: Funny you should mention Peter Weissbach. He did the weekend shows on Chorus before they put Warren on. He was a bombastic unapologetic libertarian who had lived on both sides of the border was not afraid to put prissy liberal Candian arrogance, self sanctimony and hypocrisy in the pillory…..I loved to hear him take snotty liberal types down a couple of pegs….he had a big market share in Albera but his contract was not renewed because he was “too abrasive for the GTA market”…in other words he hit hypocritical liberal sanctimony right in the heart.

  6. Get on with it Warren! You were one of the most rude talk show hosts I have ever heard. You had little time or respect for anyone the least bit nervous or hesitant. Nevertheless, I would tune in faithfully.

  7. “You had little time or respect for anyone the least bit nervous or hesitant.”
Oh come off it. He only said “Get on with it” when callers insist on beginning with an exchange of pleasantries.
    “Edmonton, you’re on”
“And how are you today Peter?”
    “Get on with it”
This is totally appropriate. I wince every time a bozo caller has to waste precious seconds of airtime (and my time) with this crap.

  8. He was the anti-Rex Murphy – who, as good as he is, I can’t listen to for all the meaningless prattle and his inability to cut people off.

  9. Best wishes Peter and thank you for the countless hours of information and entertainment you provided over the years. You were abrasive to the callers but I believe that made many tune in to see if you could out do yourself on the following program. Get on with it Peter and Good Luck
