Some stories just make me proud to be Canadian…
I hadn’t posted here in a while, because just after the last post, I got a call from an excited park ranger in Hawaii that “a nice Canadian couple reported that they found your camera!” She gave me their name and number, and I eagerly called to reclaim my camera.
“Hello,” I said, when I reached the woman who had reported the camera found, “I got your number from the park ranger, it seems you have my camera?”
We discussed the specifics of the camera, the brown pouch it was in, the spare battery and memory card, the yellow rubberband around the camera. It was clear it was my camera, and I was thrilled.
A heart warming tale, complete with sick child.

And across the pond things are different:http://www.chipichipi.info/foundacamera/
The more of you that take this at face value the worse this gets! What happens if this is just a big hoax? Are we going to have the traction to undo the damage? There’s a smell of dead fish and a lot of you are believing everything you read. I pray for you the next time a Nigerian minister of foreign trade e-mails you for financial help. As I’ve said before until that blogger divulges more information ie. the name of the criminals I am not believing a thing coming from that blog!
the bear “I pray for you the next time a Nigerian minister of foreign trade e-mails you for financial help.”
You mean I’m not getting the $50,000,000? Dammit not again!
My daughter lost her PURSE in Hawaii and two weeks later it was sent to her by some American tourist. Her address was in the purse but not her phone number. A nice note was attached appologizing that because there was no phone number there was no way to prevent my daughter from worrying about it. So much for our “holier than thou attitude”.
ROTFLMAO….Please send a $10,000.00 money order(U.S) to the above address,,,and I will send your part of the $10 Billion my Nigerian brother has set aside for you…LMFAO
How do you spell sucker??
Hey Al, did you know the returned purse thing is sometimes an identity theft technique? It lets your guard down and you’re less diligent about making sure nothing funny’s happening with your personal info. Telephone numbers are simple as pie to find on the internet especially when you have a last name & address.
Where the story falls apart is that people who find a $500 camera and keep it do not inform park rangers of their find. They certainly would not give their name and address, or any other contact information such as an e-mail address, to the park rangers. The other dead giveaway is that the couple had to be Canadian or German or French, one of the countries which refused to participate in the Iraq misadventure. The whole thing is an experiment to see if people will believe lies, and apparently they will.
