The Art Of Getting Banned

Kate,
There was nothing trollish about what I posted. I simply offered a contrarian view to your obvious bias so you removed it. You’re lying. What a surprise! Especially right after I sent you an e-mail admonishing you for releasing my email address. Good thing I saved all of the commentary myself, isn’t it Kate?
How sad. So much for free speech.

Could the left please send me a better quality of troll?
One that can like, read the little box that says “Email Address:” in the comment form before they press “post”?

  1. O/T
Just caught this breezing by on The Hour, a ‘married’ lesbian wearing a “homo’s for harper” t-shirt! She said it was irresponsible to vote for the Liberals simply because they supported gay marriage, to her the corruption was more loathsome.
Is it me, or is the ‘fear factor’ finally shifting away?

  2. jypsy, i agree. After watching Martin and Layton, and tonite Harper, its so clear who the Prime Minister should be. Harper looked and sounded like he belonged. He did excellent.

  3. Here in Toronto, I am feeling sick to my stomach – what if Canadians choke on Monday? Where did the 18% lead go? Are there really people buying into Martin’s line about how the most important Canadian values are abortion and gay marriage?

  4. what kills me is these guys who think it’s “free speech” – they really bought the american democrats brainwashing.
I used to run a forum and we’d have someone get out of line and have to ban them. Then they’d come back yelling “free speech”….blah blah. Like they knew what they were talking about.
Look, there is no such thing as free speech anywhere in the western world. You are banned from saying, publishing and thinking many things and in my mind that takes away the ‘free’ aspect of free speech.
What’s worse is these trolls who think that they have some inalienable right to store their materials on someone else’s computer. They are somehow confusing their consitutional right to speech with the social concept of being a good guest at a party, which is what this is.
Look, Kate builds the website and puts it online. She owns it, she rents the server or bandwidth and she calls the shots. If she doesn’t like your comments she can take them down. This is her equipment, her property, her brainchild and her rights you are dealing with here. Nothing gives you the right to demand unconditional use of another’s property without concern for them.
But then again this is the Liberal’s Canada. That means no prison time, no convictions, no guilt and no responsibility. No wonder their trolls feel they must be granted “full access.”
    Choose your Canada….

  5. OT But:We all have our favorite anti-Harper MSM type.
But of all the reporters and newsreaders I have seen the last 2 years, one stands buttock and rectum above the others. Yes, his strident anti-Americanism, and contempt for all things un-Liberal are shining beacons for all junior reporters and journalism schoolgrads! His vicious remarks about U.S. emergency response in the hurricane Katrina disaster dragged Canadian reportage to a new low. His hatred of all things Conservative, is inspirational.
For Mainstream Media Asshole of the Year, I nominate: From Global TV; KEVIN NEWMAN

  6. Perhaps it would help
if he got a slightly larger baseball cap
    and went to
    three layers of tinfoil
    just trying to be constructive

  7. The famous arthurdecco showed up in my log files tonight too. Someone was searching through my blog for that name.
He must be giving the same junk all over the net….

  8. “Kate,
Thank you for your product feedback. A superior, less bellicose troll in the “Ron”/”Don” tradition is currently being de-loused and should soon be ready for shipping. By way of explanation, we’re experiencing a spot of blogsphere troll disequiblibrum due to recent events at “Arty”‘s natural habitat. We apologize for the inconvenience; this was not discussed at The Meetings.
    Best Regards,
    The Left”_\

    Congrats to The Left
    What say you Synchro buddy?

  9. dmorris, I second that nomination!
Until recently, I actually liked Kevin Newman, however after seeing his interview with Harper, last night and seeing how biased he is left me feeling a little shocked and disappointed.
I loved Harper tonight on Townhall with Peter Mansbridge. Bravo! Bravo!
He managed to keep his composure and was very dignified. He was concise, honest and very warm, even with the audience that was obviously stacked with Liberal supporters.
Speaking of the audience, did any of them besides the one’s that asked questions, even have a pulse?
The man that questioned Harper, on his childcare platform infuriated me. I found myself yelling at the tv, “Parents are not “entitled” to having government foot the entire bill for your children!” And yes, incase anyone is wondering I am a parent.
I also noticed that whenever the cameraman panned the audience, that same man would roll his eyes as if on cue.
The entire interview, from Mansbridge to the live audience was so obviously biased, I found myself holding my breath.
Harper didn’t disappoint, he was PERFECT!
Did anyone else notice that it took Mansbridge, a little longer to extend a handshake to Harper than it did the other candidates?

  10. Harper was very impressive tonight on CBC. I don’t think that the audience look much brighter tonight than any of the other nights. What I did notice is they pulled out all stops with the questions. Mr. Harper answered every question with respect and honesty. He did not have to use the word fundanmentally once. That is one word that I will be glad not to hear anymore. He was a breath of fresh air after the last to interviews! Well done. Paulie has run out of gas in more than just his plane.

  11. Re: packing up — Well, Arthur and other friends could always take off to, say, Cuba, or Venezuela. Though I understand they have different ideas about “freedom of speech” than we North Americans do . . .
And “The Left”‘s Troll “feedback” is very good! :^)

  12. Is there somewhere I can find out the occupations of all the candidates of all the parties. Especially the NDP. They are for working families etc so are any of them working 9-5 people, with mortgages, debt, etc. How many lawyers are running. How many very very rich people. Would also like to know how many Greens walk the walk, or do they live like the rest of us, drive cars, leave lights on, have other pollution products in their homes. Is it true that the Cdn Greens are associated with the Greens in 71 countries, and their policies are made at international meetings. If we want to distance ourselves from the US, do you really want your govt platforms made in Europe. I heard a Green candidate on a talk show, saying he was the international secretary of the global party, and Canada was 1 of 72 counties.

  13. Mary, I heard a greenparty candidate on the radio and she did say something about her parties roots go back to the same greenparty in Germany from yrs ago. She also mentioned that party focus has changed in yrs from being “green” to a wider agenda, which now includes fiscal responsibility etc. Hope it helped.

  14. Herle/Lefty,
When you signed yourself “The Left”, and have a paulmartin email address, I’d like to know if the Liberals are now calling themselves Canada’s “Left”. I thought that title was for the NDP and wonder if you’re indicating a continual slide to the left for the Libs if they win on Mon.
I will email the PM’s office today and ask for an answer, referring him to you.

  15. Could the left please send me a better quality of troll?
Can’t. All the quality trolls are on your side of the fence, Kate, if “quality” is marked by tenacity, in any case. You’ve got 3 executive-class ones right here in this thread.
You know for a fact that’s true. You yourself give into very base instincts when you engage others. Like when you, a propos of absolutely nothing, check an IP address, and bring up an interlocutor’s location (or close to it) in a discussion on another site altogether. Like when I first met you over at BlogsCanada (ah, I remember it well) and you, out of the blue, mentionned that I’m located in Ottawa.
It really is rather hypocritical of you to then complain that you’re getting contributions you find less-than-satisfying in the space you control.
But then, if you couldn’t complain about something, what on Earth would you ever have to talk about?

  16. Wee Wee! How nice to see you chime in with your usual.
I’m getting so much more done around Chez Phantom now that I don’t have to chastise you lot for wooly thinking. Thank Robert again for me, eh?
I bet if you try real hard and keep posting stuff like this, Kate will ban you too. Won’t that be fun? ~:D

  17. I’m glad you’re finding time for your own blog. Although I never commented there (and from what I gather, very few people do), you don’t sound nearly as insane there as you did with your endless trolling at My Blahg.
    Onward and upward, Phantom.

  18. This is nothing, Tomax7, you should see him when he’s cranky. Hence the name I gave him.
In fact, this is high praise for Ti-Guy which I shall take in the spirit it was intended. “Not nearly as insane” means he secretly agrees with what I said on my blog, but can’t admit it or he will be excommunicated from both Leftyland and Robertville. Population 3.
Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.

  19. LOL Ti-Guy is going through trolling withdrawal. By the way, I wouldn’t chastise too much if I were you Tiggy. You don’t have a proverbial leg to stand on when it comes to standing up for freedom of speech. Now slither back from whence you came, pharisee.

  20. Oh, stalkers is it Wee Wee? You stalking me, more like. Can’t handle the silence of the blahg I’d say.
I’ll refrain from telling you off on Kate’s bandwitdth, waste of perfectly good electrons anyway.
