Apropos of no particular Canadian Football League commissioner, I’ll start this off.
“We’ll treat him like any other CFL Commissioner and take his panties off one leg at a time.”

Ravens’ Ray Lewis wants to get on with life

“Baltimore Ravens running back Jamal Lewis was released Thursday from prison. Now he wants to get on with his life.”
Ray Lewis. Jamaal Lewis. They all look the same to the CBC!
For non-NFL fans, these are two very famous players; one is considered the greatest linebacker of all time (and beat a murder charge), the other holds the NFL single game rushing record.
And yes, they’re both African-American.
GO STAMPS GO!!!!!
Have fun competing for the crossover Stamp fans.
Go Riders Go, untill some one gets their neck broke.
Got’a love Shivers!!
Shiv and Barrett are the best planned thing to happen to the Riders in 40 years,
Oppo QB’s, just don’t get your neck broke. π
Shiv is just doing his job. I know that Riders will only have Rook’s and few Vets for Tuesday’s game . . . but all I gotta say is take it to them Riders. Show Henry (ptooey) that he left the GC team, not the other way around. Phaw, like he’ll have time to decide on a receiver. Cal has no O-line, sack city.
Delisle residents are welcome @ my place on tuesday for Rider game day! Snicker.
Cheers,

Hey Lance, I sure hope that the Jolly Green do a great job this year. But With “Smiling Hank” back in the Red with wicked defence almost complete from last year, they will place second to the Stamps (I hope)
Any ways it has got to be a great year for the CFL!!
PS, I sure liked Barrett in the red. One super class guy with real smarts to go with it.
Barrett was a great QB, no question. Problem is that he carried (as I see it) his Qb fears of 2 QB system or being pulled from the game into his Head Coach job. That’s hurt the Riders on occasion in the last couple of years when as HC he didn’t pull the QB’s who needed to be pulled.
I hope he’s got over the stigma of pulling a QB if they’re failing in the game.
Cal has a _much_ better team then last year. But I honestly can’t see them doing much better then 4th in the season. Sorry, but that’s after Riders, esks, and BC. No place meant in the order of my list. (If you want it, it’s BC, Riders, Esks). I don’t see the parachute players in Cal forming the “team” that’s needed in the first half of the season. Last half different story, but then it’s too late to challenge, not in the west this year.
Course, I’m listenting to 54-40 and the words, “That’s the way it goes sometimes, but it can also go the other way. She lies to me.”, will probably impact on the season. π
I _really_ feel for Dunnigan. He should have been brought in as OC, not HC/GM and later OC too. That’s too much for a rook. coach. I hope that episode didn’t kill his future career cause I think with training he’s got the smarts to be a great HC.
Totally agree w/ you on the CFL though. Strongest I’ve ever seen! and loving it!

1989 Grey Cup 43-40 Riders over Ticats the greatest Grey Cup ever.So how is it that Shivers and Barrett are the greatest thing in 40 years? The answer is they’re not as Shivers is a loose cannon and Barrett is indecisive.
I still love the ‘Riders and cheer them on and wish the best of success.

Hi Lance:
You are probably right about the Red not being a team the first half of the year, we suffered that fate till the last tree games of last year. This year we have a better pivot in Henry (proven starter) a good number two guy and I sure hope we don’t loose Sousa as the third (can you say young Doug Flutie?)
As for Mat, he demanded that he be HC/GM or he wouldn’t have taken the job. One or the other would have been a big job for a rookie, but to have three jobs was way too much and both sides of the ball suffered. We also had too many recievers who gave up on the team before Labor Day.
As for the final placements, well, BC should be the class of the west (if the infighting has been stopped) then Sask (if your QBs perform) then a through down between Esks and Red.
Of course once the pads are strapped on for real, all bets are off.
BRING ON TUESDAY NIGHT!!
(BTW I dropped my season tickets 21 years ago when my daughter was born, and now that my son is 10 I think I might get three seats)
Hey Kate:
Thanks for this thread. Some times it is great to forget about Upper and Lower Canada and have fun yacking about the CFL.
