CBC is reporting Power Corp Chairman Paul Desmarais is in hospital, in stable condition, having suffered a possible stroke.

EBD: You’re right. I’m sure he does have family, but when I think of ‘family’ in this case, I think of Chretien/Martin and other iffy types connected to him. Not very kind, I agree.

Isn’t Demerais part of that FAMILY? You’re concerned for them?
EB is right. Mr. Demarais does have a family and all of us should have respect for anyone who is going through potential life-threatening health problems, even if we do not share their political beliefs.
That is common decency and I am shocked at those who want to use a serious personal health issue to satisfy their juvenile tendencies.
Let’s keep the focus where it should be. Calling Paul Demerais names only hurts our cause.

It would appear that many people have many things to answer for in this convoluted connection between the PowerCorp and the UN, Iraq, the Canadian political scene for the last 30 years. Top among them may be Mr. Desmarais, including Mr. Strong.

We are not judge and jury. That is for a higher power.
What we are are a people who have been used and our democracy has been hijacked.
We should leave Mr. Desmarais to his family and his God. The rest we should be busy rectifying in any way we can to ensure we have a country when this is all over and that is is a democratic country.

Well, everything about God and meet your Maker works for those of you who are religious. But, for those of us who are agnostic or atheist, the only way people pay for their wrongs is here on earth. If they die without answering for their wrongs, then they’ve won. It means nothing to us, to be told, “He has to answer to a higher power”.
Just about the only Power Desmarais has ever had to answer to is Power Corp. He is one of the greatest hypocrits of our time. He became enriched while slagging the rich, he abused the rules and regulations of countries and the UN while slagging Americans. He saw fit to put key people into the Canadian media, Liberal Party, and even the civil sevice and the old PC… why? Because he was obsessed with Power, Control, and making Billions. And, it turns out that the easiest cherry to pick was Canada.
I am personally comforted that, just like little old me, he will not be able to cheat or pedal influence to avoid the Grim Reaper.
I suppose a stroke is more creative than falling out of a helicopter.

If the Senate Commitee in the States uncovers all of the dirt on Desmarais, I don’t want to see Canadians deliver Desmarais’s punishment, I want to see Iraqi’s do it. I think I’d like to see that with all of the big oil for food players.

Four months ago, I would not have recognized the name. Millions of Canadians would not have a clue who he is (thanks to MSM supressing the news), if it was not for Mark Styne and the Western Standard I’d likely still not be ‘clued in’. It leads me to wonder why this ‘stroke’ was in the news today. Could it have something to do with Mr. Bolton going to the U.N. and the French rejecting the EU? What do you good people here think?

He has worked iniquity to achieve vanity, and that what he has achieved is indeed but vanity is now being made clear to him. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
This is the guy that is the real power behind the FIBerals. I wont appologize for my feelings toward him and his family. I am in TOTAL agreement with junker on how the courts of the world should handle this guy and all the other people in kahoots with this scum. Give them all (Fiberals included)to the Iraqi people and let them decide what would be the best way to punish these lowlifes.
