When the power, and it is a power, to run a nation moved from the control of an hereditary aristocracy, into the control of ‘the people’ – then, those-who-want-this-power moved to How Do We Control The People and make them, the one day of every few years, Vote Us In Power?
And so- the brainwashing and manipulation of The People began – to ensure that One Day of Voting ensured that our new Elites – were in power [and the wealth that results from this power]. Simple. They took control of socialization – in the schools, in the local governments – by funding these institutions. So, the curriculum has to follow The Ideology [think of censored books, of required ‘sex education classes’ etc]. And, these governments took control of the media [think of Trudeau funding Canadian media if and only if they support Liberal policies]. And – dividing the population into separate ‘Identity Blocs’ – and making these populations adversarial to each other and dependent on govt funds [this is a huge tactic of the US Democrats].
What’s new in this strategy to control the people – in their One Day of Voting? Well, they’ve controlled the schools and the media; they’ve made huge sections of the population dependent on government funds – so, what about the actual process of voting? In Canada, the people are further made irrelevant by our Charter, with its bilingualism law, that renders at least 80% and more of the population unable to play any role in government – and, our electoral system that puts the most MPs in the big cities – where all the government-dependent population live.
In the US – it seems that they’ve moved to sabotage the actual electronic method of voting!! This was almost inevitable – given the Fact that Trump represented – not the Elite – but, indeed, The People. Trump was and is, a fight by The People to take back power from the Elite in Washington. [Canada doesn’t have such a movement and isn’t even close to realizing how trapped-as-peasants Canadians are]… And so, the Elite in Washington have fought back – for four bloody years. Everything from riots to Mueller to impeachment to ..daily 95% media attacks to….Endless. And then, came The Vote. Of course they sabotaged it.
So- the question is: Will the People allow their rights to govern – be abandoned and handed over to an Elite in Washington? How will they fight for democracy? Canadians simply ignore – grab the CERB – and ignore the debt.
What it is going to come down to is courage. Will the U.S. Supreme Court have enough gumption to overturn an obviously fake election. If they do not, every future election will be fake. It would also be nice to see the main perpetrators of the fraud spend 20 years in jail. There is no worse crime than treason.
Treason is a capital crime. The punishment is execution. Therefore it’s a really high bar to get a conviction. Sedition is a lower bar.
Canada would never rise up, it is a nation of sheep.

I don’t thing that George’s description of the USA applies to Canada. Over 20% of those employed in Canada work in the public sector. They are “in it” and will never be critical of “it”. Then there are the three territories and over 620 “First Nations”, which are almost entirely dependent on subsidies from federal taxpayers. Their only one criticism is: give us more money (but don’t ask any questions). Then there are the four Atlantic provinces – highly dependent on government jobs and unemployment insurance payments coming from elsewhere in Canada. Then there is Quebec, like the territories and First Nations, its major complaint is: give us more money, and we want all the federal public sector jobs. The “Big Club” in Canada is much bigger, proportionately, than it is in the USA , and getting ever bigger, and that club doesn’t ever want to make any fundamental changes to how we are governed.
Agree – Canada has a huge proportion of its population in the public sector [made up of the public service, the various created dependents of indigenous, ethnicities etc] – and they live in the four big cities: Toronto; Ottawa-Hull, Montreal and Vancouver. These cities have the most MPs – and therefore – if a political tribe ‘wins’ these cities, then, they run the government…and couldn’t care less that they have no MPs in the entire West.
And, as you say, this is the ‘Big Club’ in Canada – and it’s huge – far, far larger than any productive private business class.
I find the media narrative unbelievable naive. That now includes Fox News. “Unless you show us (ME) the evidence, there is no evidence. This is all a sideshow!” I have many friends I used to think were between smart and brilliant. They have “drunk the ‘Kool-aid’.” What can a person do given outright evidence of fraud from a multitude of different sources, and your friends just repeat the media line…”There is no real evidence.” Has society really become that blind to truth and honesty?
As a young person, I was taught that people will have different opinions. I was also taught that if one holds a certain opinion, and EVERYONE around holds the opposite, one may need to re-evaluate his/her backing evidence for the opinion. Yet today, I find that I seem to hold opinions that are labelled “alt-right” (I thought I was a centrist!), and discounted as crazy thought!

One has to possess intelligence and have been free, to understand what has been done. You all know my opinion of the intellectual capabilities of the average Canadian voter.
How will they fight for democracy? The same way they fought for the Magna Carta and the American Constitution. A country that has an estimated 400 million privately owned firearms did not elect a candidate that advocates for a confiscation of guns and that, you can take to the bank. America is the last bastion of freedom and the Tree of Liberty will be nourished either by the blood of despots or the blood of patriots the true results of this election will dictate which it will be.
I might be pushing my luck here but here goes……
The ruling class has ceased to even pretend to be part of our traditional culture. By treating the right as inferiors, the left have renounced their common bond with us. They no longer even try to persuade us; they have set about to compel our obedience. Mask wearing, social distancing, political correctness: these are all designed to break the conventional social bonds. The outright theft of the U.S. election represents their boldest move to date and, if they succeed it will only embolden them even further, in what way we can only guess. But it will not end well.
For 60 years or more years this class of rulers has grown ever more socially and intellectually powerful and ever more opposed to accepted standards of morality or respectability. This happened as they took it upon themselves to construct the twin pillars of egalitarianism: income redistribution and racial harmonization.
Increasingly, they claim to be experts because they had graduated from the fount of all knowledge: the universities. These graduates – who are nothing if not little missionaries for the progressive movement – now comprise over a third of adult Americans. Naturally, they are proponents of The State as the vehicle to the New World Order. This does not mean that Big Business plays no role in this new order. No siree. Big Business and Big Government are now working hand in hand to achieve the goals of the elites: universal obedience.
Some people try to soft pedal this by calling it corporatism. But the truth is that it is closer to outright fascism:

It has been made clear to the elites that Trump is dangerous – very dangerous. So, the ruling class, having determined this, sought to resist him by dispiriting and demonizing his supporters.
The Trump supporters’ big mistake was to suppose that was all the ruling class wanted was just to destroy Trump. But their real objective was to destroy Trump’s “deplorables.”
When the coronavirus emerged, the ruling class seized the terms “Pandemic” and plague” to fear-monger as a means to crush the social bonds of rank and file citizens through social isolation.
What can we do about this? First, we must stated clearly and plainly that we are in a state of war with the ruling class. Second, we must realize that nothing can or will be done about it until the average citizen realizes that the left hates us and means to harm them socially and morally. We have irreconcilable differences. Further, the establishment wants to eliminate conventional civilized culture. And if (God forbid!) they eventually determine that we are incorrigible to progressive values they might want to actually eliminate us.

Blackfox, Not sure why you expressed some trepidation about stating your thoughts in your post, I think you are on the money. There is unfortunately so many rough threads to this whole thing, one would need to write a book instead of a lengthy post. I guess we just have to find some limit on expressing out thoughts, it’s just difficult to encapsulate the whole spectrum of this Pandora’s box that is under discussion. Being old, and almost computer illiterate, I have no idea how to re-post my own similar thoughts on another thread here in SDA.

It’s really the same Pandora, just my limited ability to express my thoughts in a somewhat tortuous fashion.

Maurice Strong et al have laid it all out for you, unabashedly. “Sustainable development” is their mantra. The only way SD gets implemented is via a whole lot of dead people, to end up “sustainable”….a pipe dream. Abortion was a start, now they’ll “vaccinate” you and yours, forcibly if necessary, if coercion doesn’t work or achieve the desired result. “Deplorables” first. Wrong think will send you to the Gulag. A form of that is currently in practice in China today.

My sister in CA posted a meme rationalizing that socialism has given people so much with institutions that help us, like CDC, FEMA, and other assorted bastions of freedom and prosperity. You’re right, most people haven’t a clue what socialism really is, where revolutionaries engineer the failure of the state where they can serve as rescuers, with short-term good times soon replaced by long term depravation and shared misery, except for the corrupt elites of course.

Think about the possibility that there is a major realignment working its way through the system. The current public intellectual to make this case is Yuval Harari. I have not read his book, all I know about it comes from a half dozen lectures and interviews he has participated in on YouTube. My take is that it does not bode well for the people in the Middle, or their values, as their power and numbers decline due to contracting employment opportunities. This explains why the Dems had no reluctance to dump Labor, with the exception of public sector unions. If you are an American Working person, your attachment to those Industrial Revolution values of hard work, thrift, accountability, diligence, in tandem with your reliance on Math, Grammar, and experimental Science along with your belief in the Bill of Rights, the rule of law, limited government, fundamental fairness, is at best quaint, and antiquated More importantly this, coupled with your attachment to a national identity (borders), is an serious obstacle that stands in the way of the skimming class imposition of a top down supranational-government agencies and courts. The question is will American middle class values prove to be resilient or archaic in the post industrial economy.

As it goes, so we [as the 51st state] also go. So- we don’t have to do very much to live a ‘basic decent life’. No great economic investments, no risk-taking in setting up new industries, no massive production of goods and services; we just franchise American tested-and-functioning companies; and import the rest. And our elected leaders pontificate a lot and tell us how much ‘better we are than those crass Americans’.
As to what Trump/aka The People will do – I’m not sure. Something HAS to be done or the election process will forever be rendered irrelevant and a waste of time and money. I hope it will be done using Law and Order – ie, via the Supreme Court. Yes, the left will riot – but – they do that anyway.
On a minor note – to Old White Man – I don’t think that we, as a species, are any dumber or wiser than we were 500, 1,000 years ago. There are always only a few who gather and write up a Declaration of Independence – arguably one of the greatest documents ever written by we humans.

The U.S. has been been in a slow, steady decline for a half century now, except for a temporary respite during the Reagan presidency. To me the most telling recent manifestation of how bad it’s become were the police chiefs and mayors of several Dem run cities telling their police forces to stand down in the face of all the BLM rioting, looting and arson back in late May/early June. We’re frankly at a point of no return, if this is going to be the standard policy of what is now clearly a far left Democratic Party. A party that is on the side of pure evil in it’s clear intention to destroy the country as founded and ultimately install a communist dictatorship.

Most of us just hope to enjoy life. We’re not demanding mansions and sports cars. We’re not demanding overseas getaways three times a year. We have relatively modest hopes for: love; freedom of worship; family; good food and good drinks and good times; to enjoy our work if we have a job that we like; the occasional vacation. Some of us love hunting. Some of us love a warm week or two on a beach. Personally, one of my most favourite things to do is enjoy an evening backyard fire-pit time with beer and friends and laughter. We don’t ask for much in life, we decent middle-class people. It doesn’t take that much to make us happy. And we couldn’t care less about what other people do or want, as long as they leave us alone. And many of us also volunteer time and dollars to make life better for those less blessed.
But they want to take it all from us. They want our freedom. THey want our good times with family and friends. They want our joy. They want our ability to just be good ol’ lads and lasses. They want us miserable. I live near a metropolitan area in the States that got destroyed for several blocks a few months ago. And I heard and saw the brain-washed rioters’ hatred for all things that give us ordinary middle class folk the life we can enjoy. I heard and saw their frightening hatred for the historically one civilization and world-view and traditions that let the non-elite, the commoners, live well: Running water, electricty, warm homes in winter, food in the fridge and cupboard, freedom to read what we want and to be entertained how we like …. Don’t they understand what’s at stake? Do they think all those gifts of civilization will just magically keep happening after they tear it all down?
Why? Why do they want to tear this all down until there are only a few elites on top and the rest of us forced to live bleak and grey lives? Why? They can’t all be idiots who seriously believe the nonsensical hate they spout against capitalism and Western Civilization and the family unit. They, the elites and their foot soldiers, must seriously believe that they need to take away and destroy and render impossible those freedoms and traditions and philosphies and economies that make life worth living for us all. And I can’t understand why. We’re not hurting them. In fact, we are the financial base that sustains them.
No one wants the cave life back, a hand-to-mouth existence with the clan chief having only slightly less lice and rotten teeth than his subjects. And if they fully succeed, that’s where the human race is headed for once again- either that or the bleak horribleness of 1984. Why are they doing this?
They don’t want us living in caves. They just want to go back to over 90% of the population never travelling more than 10 miles from where they’re born. If only electric cars are allowed, and the current electric generation and grid could only support 1-2% of the total number of vehicles currently on the road, it won’t be the elites that are priced out of the market. They need us working hard and keeping things running to keep them in the lifestyle that they’ve come to expect.
I think what they underestimate is what level of personal freedom is expected among the masses that they consider as sheep. And how many of the military (and former military) will not take their side when the pretense becomes too threadbare.

I pray you’re right. Because I want my children and grandchildren to have this level of personal freedom too, not just the elites. I’ve become appalled and frightened at what we commoners have had to give up since March, while the elites still jet and drive to where they want and gather with how many they want.
They need us working hard and keeping things running to keep them in the lifestyle that they’ve come to expect.
The elites wont need us to hang around making their lives nice and cozy for them because they are all ready working on our replacements, robots and electronics.
The company I work for is on the bleeding edge of some aspects of automation. Many of the promised benefits aren’t being realized. It turns out that having guiding intelligence is needed for a lot of “dealing with what nature gives us” far beyond what our experience with automated assembly lines would have us believe.
Statists, progressives et al regressing to poverty cause the very economic decline for their owns ends of power and wealth.
That we are poorer in the bargain matters not; they know their policies destroy economic activity, thus jobs and prosperity.
But they make out like bandits. As the pie becomes smaller their piece becomes bigger, even bigger than before they enacted their job, innovation and spirit killing policies. They don’t care. They don’t share the misery of the peasants.
But, as economies dwindle they become more powerful, taking more control as a solution to the problems they caused.
More socialism, inexorably leading to authoritarianism; inevitably to totalitarianism as only one acceptable wisdom emerges.
No matter how the pie shrinks, their share gets every larger to suit their greed and power lust and to compensate cronies.
The unjust wealth gap they purport to solve is rearranged with them at the receiving end, yours at the end of the barrel.

I posted it at 3. 32 pm on the thread titled, “Are fair elections really to much to expect in America in 2020”. It’s about five posts down from the top, as a reply to a post from another of our American friends Kenji. It lays out some of my thoughts on this. Again, as I repeat myself, we would need to write a book to encapsulate every rough thread of this Pandora’s box of insanity. If we could magically put all of the SDA threads on this frightening reality we all see, creeping like a black cloud over the horizon, we would have a much more rounded evaluation of it. Your final sentence of “Why”. Why, because they are allowed to get away with it by governors and mayors having their police forces stand down. They are enjoying the thrill of wanton destruction, they have nothing in place, to replace, what they wish to destroy. These useful idiots of the progressive left’s attempt to take back power for a permanent future of a grey existence for all who are NOT part of the elite. There will be no joy in our lives because the real elites, the one percent of, the one percent, see us as mere slaves to do their bidding in their world. Because they think by their status, it is “their” world, not ours, and we need to obey.

You seem to be saying that it’s not the Elite-in-government who run the government; it’s the Elite-in-Banks who run the government.
I still opt for an Elite oligarchy in political office – who will ensure that their minions are moved into key CEO positions in finance [banks, foundations, OECD, UN]; in industries; in major corporations etc.
What happens when an Elite oligarch is voted out of office? They are moved, rapidly, into an unelected position elsewhere in the network – we’ve seen how they fill such CEO positions [WWF, OECD, etc]. All these positions, both elected and appointed, are part of the Oligarch Network.
But I don’t see that it’s ‘the Banks’ that run the infrastructure; I think it’s the political Tribe that does this – and CEOs of banks are just one site in the whole network.
