  1. As I claimed last night on the other article the dynamics have changed. Trump just drew a real line in the sand and he just told the rest of the world what to expect. For those too blind or unwilling to see, you are to blame for what comes next.

  8. Loved the fact Trump pointed out that the missiles that Iran used to attack the Americans on Iraq based bases were paid for by the money Obama sent over to the Mullahs, under the fake nuke deal.

  10. Trump simply let the Iranians vent their spleen. It was strictly “watch and shoot if necessary” with any US response keyed to US casualties. But there were none.

    And Soleimani is still quite dead.* Chalk one up for The Donald.

    * Even dead the man remains toxic. Something like 50 Iranians were crushed to death at his funeral.

      2. Would suggest the Iranians are not cowards in this case. As you say, they could not withstand nor prevent serious, perhaps critical destruction should the Americans want it and they know it.
        Trump again appears to be giving them another chance to clean up their act just as he always does. That will depend on how much their leadership believes that he’s prepared to continue to keep dishing it out. Even so, the economic sanction tourniquet has been tightened again.
        The use of the word yellow in describing MSM antics needs to increase exponentially.

  14. It has often been remarked that nothing will unleash the economy of a country, or elevate its standard of living faster or more effectively, than losing a war with the United States.

    Germany and Japan are obvious examples.

    Could that be what the mullahs have in mind?

      I suspect that WONT happen if iran runs into socio-economic political chaos following any sort of adventurism.
      I suspect Trump in his 2nd term will let them suffer and suffer and suffer and tighten the ginormous screws until the potentates get hung on meat hooks or whatever is in store.
      then and only then will the USA do something akin to Iraq or the Marshall Plan or whatever it takes to deal with the ME gordian knot.

  15. In a nutshell. The Iranians were shown that this US government has the ability to cap anyone it wishes, no matter where they are. And, it will do so. If some other general happens to be somewhere he shouldn’t be (Soleimani in Baghdad was the equivalent of Goering in London, in 1943), he may get dusted. The mullahs chose to fire off a couple of their missiles in order to save face. The Iranians had been sending messages of war. Trump got around to sending one back. Now, the message from Tehran will change. For a while.

  19. I didn’t bother listening to the speech but from the clips I saw on the news he was reading something somebody else wrote and he’s a horrible speaker. Then there’s the problem of distinguishing between him saying things I’m supposed to take literally but not seriously and him saying things I’m supposed to take seriously but not literally and the idea that I shouldn’t listen to what he says but instead watch what he does. Given that he’s said a thousand times that he’s going to withdraw our troops from far-flung places we have no business being and yet has actually sent more over there, I’m thinking that the last bit is the best advice. Trump says a dozen crazy, stupid, illogical, contradictory, non sequitorious things every day – sometimes within the same sentence – and everybody puts their pants on their heads, sets them on fire and runs around squawking about whatever latest thing he said was. 24 hours later there’s another load of Twitter poop coming down the line everybody’s furiously scrambling to glean the corn kernels out of and everybody’s got a brand-new pair of pants. Feh. I’m tired of trying to find any meaning in anything Trump says, better just to ignore it because you’ll know just as much as if you did bother listening.
