  1. He’s a pen for hire. He’ll write what he’s told to write. Even when he wrote as a conservative I was never really impressed with him.

    1. Yep, pretty much this. As the media market becomes increasingly fragmented and ratings continue to decline, every talking head has given up trying to reach a broad audience and is instead looking for a small but dedicated following. Adler’s bosses at Global think this stuff sells, so he’s now a progressive.

I think why many former listeners/readers are so confused is not necessarily the above but why he and other like him (Coren) have become so vitriolic and nasty toward them. Seems to me the reason is simply that their new potential audience is skeptical of their conversion and they must prove their wokeness by demonstrating that they are committed followers of their new religion and must shun and shame those with whom they used to agree. It’s this latter part that shows you their true character: it’s one thing to be a pen for hire, it’s quite another to trade in people as easily as you would a used car.

  2. Well …there is that big Liberal media bribe out there, so Adler is likely on the take with that.
In any case, tune him out, turn him off or change the station. In just a few months no audience = no ads = no Adler.

    1. Davers6, that is EXACTLY the problem. They suck, so I don’t give them my money. They brainwash the multitude of morons in this country, so the frigging government gives them my money. They also keep a FEE for that service. About half of my income. It is utter horseschmidt.

  3. I think back to the SSM debate where I exchanged email with Adler on the subject. Short version, I had a hard time explaining to Chuckie that I had no problem with someone believing there was no difference between two folks of the same gender claiming they where married just like two people of opposite gender. What I took issue with was someone telling me I had to accept this idea, you know, compelled by the state to have an opinion I did not believe.
He kind of lost me on that day.
    Haven’t looked back since.
What I attribute his drift to is cognitive dissonance.

    1. Agreed. Or GG, or Ambassador to Ibiza or some other tropical paradise. Or supreme court (yes, it IS that much of a joke), or CSA director, …

So much comfy fur to portion out to the faithful…

      1. Was thinking exactly the same thing.
Maybe he’s trying to show PM Turd, that as Ambassador to Hungry(where his family migrated from), he can deliver Canadian liberalism into a conservative country, undermining the government for U.N. goals and for the sake of the EU.

  4. Coren did a flip when one of his children decided to bat the other way so possibly someone close to Charles has gone that route. Supporting politicians who want to replace our current population with people from countries where gays are not accepted seems an odd way to reinforce your new-found wokeness.

  5. Charles who….?
Havent listened to that arrogant mouthpiece since likely 06/07.
Preferred Roy Green or Rutherford in those days…

    1. Yes, it’s been a good 10 yrs or so since I gave up on him, too.

Apart from his increasingly annoying bombastic style, I also took issue with his stiflingly limited choice of guests. They seemed to be 95% fellow media blowhards or little old ladies with heart-wrenching tales. Not at all surprised that he has continued on that tangent to end up who he is as a radio personality today.

  6. Nothing has recently “happened” to Charles. Like far too many Canadian journalists Charles has always worn a coat-of-many-colours. The colour displayed at any particular time telegraphs what viewpoint Charles thinks will be be$t for Charles.

Groucho was thinking of the Charlies of the world when he said, “These are my principles. And if you don’t like them, well, I have others.”

But take heart! Canada’s MSM is the best reporting six-hundred million can buy!

  7. I listen to Roy Green once in a while but the good ones are gone or caught commie religion. Maybe Adler is going to do a Bruce Jenner. Radio is almost dead. Don’t the lunatics in charge realize that only conservatives listen to talk radio and you might as well cater to that demographic.

  8. When Charles was on Manitoba radio I listened to him for many years , and he was very much the conservative voice . However since he transferred to B.C. it is as though he slid off his cracker and I cant stand him anymore.

  9. Charles Adler has always been a violently anti-Christian bigot, and it may be that Andrew Sheep is just too Christian for him (although Stephen Harper apparently wasn’t).
