    1. No, thirty years ago we never had enough of that type of equipment. It was issued as required then turned back in because there wasn’t enough to go around. I suspect this is the same thing.

      1. Yeah and no fricking blanks FFS! It was a joke then and its a bigger joke now. Neo-Marxists hate the military because they fear it.

    1. Funny. I haven’t seen any article, commemorating D-day, by the corporate media cartel (CTV News, CBC News, the Globe and Mail). As John Doyle, a left-wing writer at the Globe, once said a few years ago, D-day was run by “a bunch of white guys”. Not multicultural enough, these days, for our politicians or the corporate media.

      1. David ,
“D- day was run by a “bunch of white guys” so what , you can’t change history. Typical of the Marxists to try to erase history.

They are wrong to do so. History will make them out to be the laughing stock.

        1. “History will make them out to be the laughing stock.” We would hope, but, sadly, history would suggest otherwise. See Athenian democracy for details on process.

        2. “He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.” George Orwell, 1984.

      2. They are too busy rewriting history. Canada’s history magazines and museums have taken on a distinct SJW bent.

        1. They have.

I used to subscribe to The Beaver. It was the Hudson Bay Co’s (HBC) ‘news’. The history of HBC is the history of Canada. Founded in 1670 HBC developed the country east/west/north/south. They traded deep into the south of the US.

The Beaver published stories of the HBC past and present. It was history with all the warts.

Along comes the internet and any magazine called the beaver…..well it was impossible with a name like that so they changed the name to Canada’s History Magazine. The editorial slant changed along with the name. It has become a Pierre Burton version of history. Lite weight – not serious – social justice issues.

          I no longer subscribe.

          1. I remember The Beaver. It was a treasure. It is also fun to learn about the history of the Hudson’s Bay Company — you can still visit some of the old Forts — or replicas. HBC was so central to establishing Canada, and in some cases, very helpful to natives — both trading and sometimes helping them get through long winters.

    2. My mother told me about her cousin Dennis. He landed on D-Day on the second wave at Juno with the Scottish Regiment from Calgary. First wave established the flanks and the 2nd wave moved inland to capture their objective. Dennis survived D-Day and the period following but was killed by a mortar about 1 month before the end of the war. My mother said their family was never the same.

God bless the memory of all who served.

      1. please, seriously, send my regards to your mother for what her cousin did.
the older I get the bigger the lump in my throat this time of year.
Juno Beach. aka payback for Dieppe. Our boys went further inland faster than the Brits or Yanks on their 4 assigned locations.
this fact will never change. I even named my black lab Juno.

I’m a 67 yr old hippie pacifist. emphasis on the ‘fist’ part.
I need a moment to compose myself.

    3. Yes. Bless those men. And now some are busy trying to undo what they paid for in blood.

    1. Are you sure you got that right, Jeff?

I heard that Justin was prioritizing gender change and climate equality next week.

  1. FBI Deputy Director McCabe has offered to testify to Congress if he is GRANTED IMMUNITY from prosecution. Don’t take my word for it, Read the letters.

    https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/06/05/fired-fbi-director-andrew-mccabe-requests-criminal-immunity-in-exchange-for-congressional-testimony/

I keep hearing that President Donald Trump is the criminal, and the FBI and DOJ were the noble heroes chasing the nefarious criminals in the racist, sexist, homophobic Trump Crime Family? Why would a disgraced and fired FBI Deputy Director need criminal immunity? What terrible crimes did he commit? Who colluded and conspired with McCabe?

    Who are the Real Criminals?

  2. The family of David Hogg, the ant-gun and anti-NRA zealot was swatted. Coincidentally, when it happened, the Hogg family was all in Washington DC to accept an RFK Foundation Award.

    http://victorygirlsblog.com/david-hoggs-reaction-to-his-home-being-swatted-is-very-odd-video/

I don’t know who did it. I have my suspicions about motives and publicity hungry people. I want the FBI and the Broward County Sheriff to find out who. I want them found, arrested, convicted, and sentenced to a long stretch in prison. Someone died last year when the police showed up at a house in the middle of the night on a phony swatting call.

  4. Robert Kennedy died 50 years ago today after being shot by a non-fan. He had promised to send 50 fighter jets to Israel (he was a Democrat, Governor of California, running for President at the time). He was shot by a Palestinian holding a Jordanian passport named Sirhan.

    http://www.cbc.ca/radio/asithappens/as-it-happens-tuesday-edition-1.4692177/get-the-gun-seconds-after-bobby-kennedy-was-shot-a-reporter-filed-this-chilling-on-the-spot-report-1.4692904

Sirhan was given the death penalty in 1969 but 3 years later California abolished the death penalty and everyone on death row had their sentences commuted to life in prison. Sirhan is still alive in a California jail at the age of 74.

I wonder if Robert Kennedy was alive today if he would support Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city and the subsequent Embassy move.

    1. “he was a Democrat, Governor of California, running for President at the time”

Ronnie was governor in 1968. Bobby was a New York senator in 1968.

    2. If I may, with all due respect, correct you, when R.F.K. was assassinated in California he was not the Govenor, it was Ronald Regan. Robert had just won the Democratic Primaries in California because he was running for President.

    3. I went to the RFK statue last year outside RFK stadium in Washington DC. The monument was in absolutely appalling shape. Green corrosion everywhere. It hadn’t been maintained or cared for in quite sometime.

  5. Maybe today I can catch “The Longest Day,” a great movie and a solid testament to that greatest generation.

I was thinking about them, what they built, in context today, regarding unemployment rates in the US and Canada. With boomers moving out of the labour market it is natural we would see low unemployment rates.

That seems to be happening in the US right now and unemployment has continued to fall as one would expect, now at 3.9%

What about Canada. 5.8% right now, nearly 2% higher and 50% greater than US rates by comparison.

These statists call themselves job creators. Meanwhile, they grow the public sector to skew our numbers.

The European Union, the end game for their statist admirers here, replete with handing over our economic system to their control; by denying our birthright to resource development? 7.7%, nearly double the US rate.

So the obvious question, when will the people truly wake up. Is that underway? I thought so when Harper came in but the statists and assorted pur laine conservative useful village idiots brought him down.

Is the lesson that if we put them down for the count, we go for the political kill shot?

Reform government, make it responsible again, make it good again. I can hear the moans of murderous rage already, but folks we can’t afford these statist ne’er do wells anymore, if we ever could.

“Massive Genetic Study Reveals 90 Percent Of Earth’s Animals Appeared At The Same Time

Landmark new research that involves analyzing millions of DNA barcodes has debunked much about what we know today about the evolution of species.

In a massive genetic study, senior research associate at the Program for the Human Environment at Rockefeller University Mark Stoeckle and University of Basel geneticist David Thaler discovered that virtually 90 percent of all animals on Earth appeared at right around the same time.

More specifically, they found out that 9 out of 10 animal species on the planet came to being at the same time as humans did some 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.

“This conclusion is very surprising,” says Thaler, “and I fought against it as hard as I could.””

    Vote Doug Ford, Conservative.

    …_

“Final Ipsos poll suggests Doug Ford and PCs headed for a majority”

“Toronto’s 905 region remains the “real story” behind Ford’s potential victory, Bricker noted.

The PCs have a commanding lead there, with 45 per cent support, with the NDP and Liberals effectively splitting the progressive vote and holding on to 28 per cent and 23 per cent support, respectively.”

    https://globalnews.ca/news/4256612/ontario-election-ipsos-poll-doug-ford-pc-majority/

    1. I am pleased to see that the Pc’s have a good chance to win this. If they are successful, I hope they can overcome their internal differences, and I hope Doug follows the advice of more experienced Ontario PC people. I have no idea how skillful he is at leading a team, but feel strongly that this needs to be a team effort.

    2. I have my doubts about Doug, I figure he is just another crooked lying morally corrupt politician based of his late brother’s actions, the recent news story about Doug ripping off his sister in law and just the fact he is a fat politician. However a conservative win is still much more preferable to either the Liberals or NDP. It’s something like choosing between Trump and the Dems.

        1. @Ken(Kulak)
We will have to wait and see where that story(will ripoff) goes.

    3. I see the winds of change; finally. I am therefore cautiously optimistic.

Even though Ford ran a poor campaign, neither promoting his nor criticizing his opponents’ issues effectively.

Nevertheless and even though the party was in turmoil over the Brown resignation, even though the usual slime attacks happened, and suddenly unburied “scandals,” the voters did not take a bite from the false fruit of statism this time.

Ford, to his credit did not react to the sliming, nor did he allow himself to fall into the usual policy traps that have characterized Conservative party performance at recent Ontario elections.

I told a friend the collapsed Liberal vote was going to move, but I wasn’t sure which way. It’s clear enough of that vote has moved to the Conservatives, assuming this and other polls play out.

I have family in Ontario who are hard core Liberals, federal and provincial. Watching them freak out has been fun, as they post items calling Ford a White Nationalist and “heinous,” always without evidence.

One poster that was shared accused me of not reading his “article,” actually 4 meandering, mendacious and malevolent paragraphs. So I exercised my free speech and laughed at him.

The bleed off of Liberal support to Conservatives on the right and Dippers/Greens on the left is what’s also happening to the federal Grits, much to my cousins’ chagrin.

The federal election is Sheer’s to win imho, notwithstanding Trudeau has plenty of room for error.

  8. Did the Russians hack the DNC. Or was it the Awan’s work?

This seems a fairly logical conclusion to consider, kind of like the sun changing our climate.

This is perhaps plausible given the behaviour of former DNC Chair Wasserman Schultz, who hung in there with the con artists longer than anyone else. Now the Awan plea bargain is under way.

Another shoe drops for the DeMarxists.

“In February 2017, Kiko and the House’s top law enforcement official, Paul Irving, outlined serious violations in a letter to the committee, and the family was banned from the House computer network. The letter also noted that the House Democratic Caucus server disappeared soon after the IG report named it as key evidence.”

But Wasserman Schultz refused to fire Awan, with her spokesman saying he would work on “websites” and “printers,” which a cybersecurity expert previously told TheDCNF would presumably involve network access.”

The congresswoman also added Awan’s wife, Hina Alvi, to her payroll in late 2016, after the investigation was in full swing, but before the family was banned from the network. Wasserman Schultz kept paying her until March 17 — 12 days after Alvi went to Pakistan with $12,000 in a suitcase.”

I wonder what else Wasserman Schultz was “sharing” with Mr Awan, but won’t dignify my suspicions any further.

Why Ontario’s election matters to them and to the rest of us. Another
reason why so many began moving West when Ontario’s economy
couldn’t produce jobs. If the NDP or an NDP/Liberal coalition is
elected the West will be saddled with higher balance of transfer
payments, and more of their economic refugees.

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

    https://www.straight.com/news/1085306/petition-aims-harper-years-call-royal-commission-investigate-canadas-overdose-crisis

So if I understand the point of this petition is to somehow assign blame on Stephen Harper for an increase in overdoses from illegal drugs while he was PM.
So since he is no longer PM has the number of deaths by overdose decreased? And if blame can be attributed to the sitting PM if there is an increase then doesn’t that make the current PM just as blameworthy or even more so as the so-called crisis was well publicized by then?
Yeah go ahead and have an inquiry then and put the hypocrisy on display.

    1. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. It is not even clear what this person hopes to accomplish. Only in BC would people go for this garbage.
