Ah. Tis the season! The CFL Season!
So many changes to the teams this year. For the most part, I’m guessing with my picks. It won’t be for another couple of weeks before the defences have enough film to really challenge the offences.
Thursday, 18:30 CST: Edmonton at Winnipeg. Matt Nichols is out for a month or so due to a training camp injury. Mike Reilly is not hurt. Edmonton by 14.
Friday, 19:00 CST: Toronto at Saskatchewan. “BRING EM OUT, BRING EM OUT!” err <non-partisan voice> I’m not sold with Colllaros at QB for the Riders, Ray is Ray. Toronto by 10.
Saturday, 17:00 CST: Hamilton at Calgary. Flash in the pan or old college form? I guess Manziel will show us on Saturday. No doubts surround Bo Levi Mitchell except over-confidence in the really big games. Calgary by 10.
Saturday, 20:00 CST: Montreal at BC. Both teams disappointed last year. Both teams made changes to organization and coaching. Do we even know who is QB’ing for the Als? It’s a late game for the Als and that rarely works out for them unless the coach and GM are on the ball with the practices the week before. BC by 3.

I think you are right about the Toronto – Saskatchewan game. Not sure about the others as I do not follow the ins and outs nitty gritty of the CFL that closely.
Nice to see your comment.
Yep,I have to agree with your assessment this week, Lance. Only difference is I think B.C. will win by a bit more, about 7-10 points. Maybe you should join the staff at TSN, chief prognosticator. Pay’s good and you get to hang around with hot female ‘casters.
Downside at TSN, Jay and Dan hogging all the glory.
Kate Beirness, swoon!
I’d make money with Lance’s picks, if I was a betting fish.
Feeling Blue over my Bombers.
If Colllaros plays like he did for the TiCats at the beginning, the Riders will be pleased.
If he plays like he did toward the end of his time in The Hammer, you’ll be bummed.
Normally I wouldn’t care at all about Hamilton Calgary or any Calgary game but I’m interested in Manzeil
Has it started already…
Arrrrrugh
All things being equal – game stopped several time for lightning, playing in the pouring rain, Chris Strevler straight out of college starting in his very first CFL game, coming in on a short week with a shortened playbook, managing to outscore Edmonton in 2 straight quarters, and the more experienced team winning only by a last minute field goal – I think the Bombers have every reason to be optimistic about the season. Maybe this is the year we have genuine depth at quarterback.
I was very impressed with the resilience of the Bombers given the QB situation. Look out, they’re for real.
