SDA is blessed to have some exceptionally intelligent, extremely insightful readers and commenters. Here’s one brilliant example from ‘DrD‘, only lightly edited/formatted for clarity.

The protests really boil down to demonstrating the divide in Canada between the makers vs. the takers, the producers vs. the parasites. For far too long the parasites have been getting away with murder, figuratively and, on occasion literally, and the politicians have been pandering to them whether it be at Caledonia, at the BLM protests, at the pipeline blockades or whatever “green” nonsense of the day the professional malcontents have dreamt up. Finally, the makers/producers have had enough and, as Kate pointed out recently, started to use the tactics of the parasites to poke a finger into the faces of the politicos.

Now, the politicos and their laptop industry cheerleaders are pissed. Too damn bad. You wanted to block the roads and the trucks and the pipeline workers and just assumed that those guys and gals with the dirt under their fingernails would work all the harder to get around you and get you all of those creature comforts you and your fellow parasites take for granted while you further your pet “woke” causes. Well guess what? Now those same truckers have blocked themselves and everything else that moves along those roads.  You’re starting to panic because the impact is real:

  • Not a bunch of hyperventilated headlines in a rag no one believes anymore, if they even read it.
  • Not a bunch of students having to work from home.
  • Not people having to use an alternate Starbucks for their morning coffee but real impacts:
    • Like people not getting the materials they need to keep working.
    • Potentially not getting the food to the grocery stores.
    • Not getting the packages they ordered online last week.

It’s become blindingly clear to everyone who really makes this country run:

  • Not self important journalists spewing a load of BS no one in the know believes.
  • Not bloviating politicians telling everyone else how to live their lives.
  • Not “activists” throwing a wrench into every piece of the social machinery they can think of.
  • Not air-headed academics teaching grievance studies 101

But truckers who deliver things and workers who make things and produce things. It’s becoming so painfully obvious who makes this country work that the parasites are $#!%%ing themselves because they realize that with each passing day that simple truth is becoming more and more obvious to everyone. By contrast, the naked emperor-parasites are looking ever more ridiculous. The jig’s up. And it’s about time.

    1. However, be wary – moves and counter moves as the saying goes. The elite are already spinning this as an int’l right wing conspiracy. They’ve shut down regular banking for the organisers and some truckers. People are going to Bitcoin, the elites will then claim bitcoin is funding terrorism and move to disband or at the very least isolate private crypto currencies.

      They are already also hinting that there is a problem with democracy, that somehow democracy has failed (along with capitalism which we’ve been hearing for many months now).

      Remember, they want socialism/communism with the illusion that people are still free. Watch for it. The game isn’t over, they are pivoting – we need to be wary and ready to pivot faster

Archbishop Vigano said last week — and he’s not alone; others have said the same — it will only really be over when we (down at the individual as well as societal level) recognize the spiritual reality that God, not government, is the supreme authority in the world. Until then, the totalitarian impulse will continue unabated.

  4. Yep nailed it, just read an article that stated the Chamber of Commerce and a long list of corporations demanding the protests ends now-now they say. The self same organization that got rich off covid cause Mom and pop stores were forced to close are now suffering the same fate the elites forced on the middle class business owners. Ask me if I care if those rich forkers are losing staff money etc, where was their outrage the past two years?

  7. Just spoke to a good friend of mine who now resides 15 min out of Ottawa. He is a born and raised westerner. We were talking about the superbowl predictions and then it came up about the protests. I asked him if he went down there for a walk and his reply was : I would but to keep peace in the family he has not.
    His wife’s family are from there and Cornwall area.
    I’m disappointed in my friend of 25 years and ask myself who is going to heal this country , we have no leadership that will even attempt to close that divide. This will get worse before it gets better I’m feeling. Everyone here I’m sensing has these type of stories. Our country is broken!

  16. The chief complaints I’ve heard from the class described above is how inconvenient these protests have made their lives. Never mind how inconvenient it is to lose one’s business, job, education or any other important part of one’s life. It is a moral dissonance that is most troubling, as troubling as suggesting violence or damage to be inflicted on the protesters who have proved how normal and amiable they actually are.

    Here goes.
    First off Kelly beware of wolfs in sheep’s clothing. I don’t know who this archbishop is but the church’s would love to get back the control they used to have and the catholic church would love to have total control outlawing all others.
    I support what the truckers have set out to do but I wish they would stop wrapping themselves in the liberal/ndp rag of eastern Canada. The competition for a REAL Canadian flag was destroyed by Lester Ballsless Pearson when he determined that there would be no blue on a Canadian flag and as the leader of a party that could not win an election had to snivel to the other communist party the ndp.
    Hence you have a rag that only represents a small part of a vast country.
    Instead of liberal red the boarders should have been Ocean blue (not conservative) And the maple leaf should have been a live Green leaf as opposed to a dead RED leaf. Pearson probably only put the leaf in the middle because he was not allowed to put the hammer & sickle there.
    The education industry has done a stellar job in brainwashing the last 3 to 4 generations.
    The next time you are talking to a teacher ask them “when you’ve already had a child for 13+ yrs how come they need more education to find a job that pays more than a barrister???

This is the mistake made by all authoritarians. But they really did think we believed that Eastern Manhattan has been under water for 18 years. Or that a man can menstruate .   27. I understand where this comment is coming from, it’s not wrong on any count, but the wording makes me worry. Maybe these people don’t contribute much, if anything, to society, but they are not parasites. A parasite can only be killed, there is no redemption arc for a tapeworm. The laptop industry is far, far gone to be sure, but they do change their mind on occasion. The anti-convoy people are humans, even if they are nutjobs, and it should be beneath us to talk like this.

    Maybe I’m overreacting to the use of one word here, I’ll grant that possibility, but I can’t shake the worry that the biggest waves start as a small shift out at sea.

    For myself, I’m coming close to just calling it quits. Retire and take my pension. By “coming close,” I don’t mean that I still have some hope left for a normal life, I don’t. I mean that I’ve almost finished structuring my finances to produce dividend income. Earning $50k in Canada from dividends is income tax free and I think that is about the best protest that I can think of. I just read a Plato quote about those who cease to participate in the political process risking being governed by inferior people. It’s true, but when we have the kind of political system we have, I’ve come to believe it’s not possible for superior people to gain elected office. And so there’s only one option left, to starve the beast.

  33. This was my response to a neighbor here in Florida (votes consistently “Blue”/Democratic) who stated that they shouldn’t be blockading bridges, etc and should “just go home” and “protest peacefully” (ie: write their MPP/MP, etc)

    (I also asked her why the greatest genuine grassroots working class uprising in a generation has been so viciously demonized and resisted by the parties that purport to represent working class interests (Liberals & NDP in Canada; Democrats in US) and got NO answer.)

    You state that the protesters have no right to blockade the bridges or “occupy” downtown Ottawa, that they need to just go home and “protest peacefully” by means that you feel are “appropriate”, such as “writing letters”, or “starting petitions”.

    Unfortunately, that is a much harder task than you realize, to have your voice heard, when all the checks & balances of a democratic system have been denied to the working classes.

    Blockades & a growing insurgency is all they have left.

    Let’s take a roll call:

    (1) Parliament? The leaders of two of the major parties are both of the same political party – the “#WEF party”, riding of Canada. Steve Bannon calls them “the party of Davos” and he is not wrong. Both Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh used inexcusable and unacceptable inflammatory speech to demonize an entire group of people who had differing views, with no blow back from the mainstream media. If their opponents had used it, it would be categorized as “hate speech”, but they get a free pass from the media.

    The “Opposition” ? Timid and gutless, they tentatively move forward with pseudo opposition to the ruling party, as long as it doesn’t upset their big business donors or deep pocket lobbyists. The base – well, screw ’em! We’ll say the minimum we need to say to appease them & then do what our donor class wants. The first Conservative (CPC) politican to announce he is running for the now vacant leadership position of the CPC, Pierre Poilievre is yet another WEF “Young Global Leaders” graduate. Do you understand the concept of “Controlled Opposition” in psychological warfare operations? No one in the “Opposition Party” has so much as mentioned the WEF-mandated “Individual Digital Identity” – a permanent QR style digitial passport, that jurisdictions with a significant WEF footprint are rushing to implement. The QR “Vax Passes” were just the toe in the water and the beta test for what is to come.

    Saskatchewan has an outstanding RFP for a “Level 3”, Individual Digital Identity framework. This is more than just “dropping all mandates”. This is the last line of defense before we are all corralled into a digital fence that they control, similar to the Chinese Social Credit System – and yet, the CPC remains silent while pretending it is demanding “ending all mandates”.

    (2) The mainstream media? Once a check on power, they now are little more than stenographers & hagiographers for the establishment. They don’t challenge establishment viewpoints, they harangue, hector and bully the “little guy” for his “unacceptable views”, especially if those “views” are embarrassing to those in power. Dr. Malone was recently “fact checked” by a reporter from the BBC – someone who had NO science experience, let alone formal training – and “corrected” for his statements on findings, technology and protocols that he had invented, and had successfully secured 9 patents for.

    (3) The courts? Ha, ha, ha! Time & again as we slowly slide into full tyranny, they don’t view their storied position as a check on power and a much needed source of equity for the underdog in a stacked system. The recent court rulings against the #FreedomConvoy in my view are further evidence of the corruption of the Justice system in favor of the powerful. If not outright corruption, then certainly a corruption of ideas and principles.

    (4) Banks? Instead of being neutral business people, TD Bank went out of their way to grovel and suck up to the #WEF party of Davos to proactively find a way to return the grassroots donations held in trust by Give Send Go of the Deplorables to Leviathan, in advance of any express court directives. That’s “Democracy” in action!

    (5) State power? With little more than offended feelings, the state can now go door to door in an intimidation campaign against soccer moms, or declare anyone who dares challenge them, “Terrorists” and apply the full lever of power of the state against them. Unlawful stealth and warrentless intelligence collection with the full cooperation and support of Big Tech is done on innocent citizens is done under the guise of an “Emergency Order”, and for “Public Health”. The Cheka would be impressed.

    But you’re right – it’s the “Blockades” – the one remaining thing the little guy has as a check on unrestrained power and tyranny that’s the problem.
