Oxford Academic- The Role of Immunomodulatory Nutrients in Alleviating Complications Related to SARS-CoV-2: A Scoping Review

Overall, the findings of our review are consistent with our hypothesis about vitamin D, vitamin C, and zinc. High-dose vitamin C appears to beneficially impact outcomes related to COVID-19 without adverse effects. Zinc has a potential therapeutic and synergistic role against COVID-19 when administered with HCQ or chloroquine. In addition, high doses of vitamin D reduced the severity of the illness caused by COVID-19.

Current Issues in Molecular Biology- Protective Effect of Melatonin Administration against SARS-CoV-2 Infection: A Systematic Review

The most relevant results were: (1) melatonin prevents SARS-CoV-2 infection, (2) although much remains to be clarified, at high doses, it seems to have a coadjuvant therapeutic effect in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection and (3) melatonin is effective against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Journal of Clinical & Medical Images- Loratadine syrup is successfully used to fix COVID-19 induced respiratory distress and chest pain

One of the Antihistamin-1, Loratadine syrup at dose of 10ml per day for 6 days has saved the life of one pregnant woman from severe Covid-19 disease at the 25 weeks of gestational age. However, she has been treated with strong antibiotics before that, even though the disease relapsed after those treatment dosages. Finally, she was responded well to Loratadine syrup.

  1. Loratadine syrup has a brand name, Claritin– and comes as syrup or pills and can be bought in any pharmacy without a prescription.

    1. Isn’t it funny that a lot of these remedies are also used to treat the common cold?

There’s a moral in there somewhere.

  2. All of this stuff is fine to take and mostly safe. No high quality conclusions drawn from any of those papers. The loratidine one is a single case of a relative of the author….not going to do you any harm , but nothing tangible to indicate it will do you much good..

    1. Actually no. those findings were echoed in a paper published in early 2021

The stink of it is, this info has been out there for at least a year and we’ve heard NOTHING from any of our so-called “health authorities”.
In fact it seems that Covid patients fare better doing ANYTHING other than what the public health authorities recommend.
Words cannot adequately convey my disgust. They’re guilty of Nuremburg level malfeasance.

      1. Fits right in with my personal narrative that this goes far beyond incompetence. NO ONE, especially in the medical field can be THAT incompetent. The only other possible explanation is that they are doing this with a deliberate objective in mind, and that objective IS NOT THE HEALTH of the public, but actually, their demise. EVERYTHING they’ve recommended was not only incorrect, but also flies in the face of common sense. If all of their bizarre recommendations cannot be explained by incompetence, then there is only one other alternative hypothesis.

Regardless of the explanation, YOU CANNOT TRUST PUBLIC HELL-TH, OR FOR THAT MATTER, THE GOVERNMENT. That’s been true throughout all of history. Anytime a regime claims that they have YOUR best interest at heart, you can bet that the opposite is true.

  3. Gonna need permission from a Trudeau minion soon just to get some vit d or c if this keeps up. (And I mean that it will be banned)

Smoke all the dope you want but God forbid you want to try ivermectin. Canada is for losers!

    1. Canada is a dump. A fine place to be from. If you move TO Canada, you are admitting you are a loser with no other options.

Fortunately, Canada is harmless and irrelevant. Nice landscape photos, though.

    2. I’m already having trouble finding extra-strength Vit ‘D’, which I’ve been taking for several months now.

So instead of taking 2 tablets of 2500 Iu, I’ll have to take 5 tablets of 1000 Iu.

I’m pretty sure that’s by design. My pharmacist was at a loss to explain why the extra-strength dosage is unavailable.

      1. fc,
Webber Naturals has this Vitamin D in the 2500 iu dosage, I take 4/day, at Superstore it’s normally $10 for 180, I bought 2 more of these containers today at London Drugs and it was -40% for another week +/- This is the most economical I’ve found, and I have another couple of containers at home (working in Edmonton at the moment).
Get some Vit C, magnesium, zinc, in you too…
These are Canadian stores, coast to coast, I have no idea where you are though…
        cheers

        1. I get better practical health advice from the gals at Nutters Everyday Naturals than I do my medical doctor.

          Prarie Naturals 500 + 50 pack of 2500IU Vitamin D softgels for $18

High dosage use of Vitamin C

Note that this was published in 1949. Dr. Klenner cured polio w Vitamin C. More recently patients have been treated and cured of sepsis (a heavy cytokine immune reaction) with Vitamin C. Some ‘studies’ state that Vit C does not work, but it may be that the failure is in using too small a dosage.Note Dr.Klenner’s comment in para 2: “This one thing was the size of the dose of vitamin C employed and the frequency of its administration.”

    1. Along the lines of Vitamin C, I Just listened to Dr.Peter McCullough interview of Dr.Paul Marik about Inpatient care of Covid patients. Marik does successfully employ what I would have thought to be megadoses of Vit C (25 mg infused over the course of an hour) in some specific instances. I think McCullough was surprised by the dosages Marik employed as well as Marik’s advocacy for Vitamin C use in Inpatient care.
On another subject, a kindle version of RFK JR’s book on Fauci is available at $2.99.

    2. We know that low vitamin D levels correlates to worse outcomes. The real question is, if we supplement will it change the outcome? I haven’t seen a study yet with a control group.

      1. There is also a fair bit of work regarding vitamin d and resistance to other illnesses. As with all human illness studies textbook controls are very difficult to design.

  5. We are in the heart of the evil anti/vax part of Manitoba.
Brought my 70 year old father in law to the hospital last Tuesday. He made it to Sunday morning. They pretty much gave up on him right away. Saturday night they essentially euthanized him by giving a huge dose of morphine on Saturday evening.
They are trying to up the body count to make the area look bad.

      1. Paul, that is horrible to read.
        Condolences.
I pray for judgement day for the perpetrators doing shit like that.
        Monsters are among us.
As you know, SDA folks, this is real, and surreal.
        Stay wary.

    1. My condolences as well, what was the cause of death? Apologies assuming it was COVID by your comment……….

    2. They’re turning our hospitals into kill zones. They’ve been tossing the hypocritic oath around for a few decades now, because as we all know, centrally-planned, socialist hell-th care is not sustainable to take care of the boomers as they get older. That’s why I believe they’ve legalized euthanasia. They can’t afford to take care of our seniors anymore.

When I get to my golden years, I’ll be afraid to go to any hospital in this country.

Let me also express my dismay for your loss.

  6. I too old not to be skeptical about all the “cures” being reported on these days. I especially dislike “studies” that support the authors theory. That’s not scientific language.
While most of the stuff on these posts is relatively harmless, hydroxychlorquine, chloroquine cen pose serious risks, esp. to people with heart issues.

    1. Good evening John s, try to find some links with Dr. Peter McCullough on HCQ.

One of the most published cardiologist in the US, he treats C-19 with HCQ and other medications.

    2. Sure, keep reading from the CBC/CNN/ABC/NBC/PBS/NPR/CTV playbook.

Got any more propaganda bullshit ya wanna share?

        1. Yes Johns, hcq can cause heart problems. One should always be aware of one’s own physical condition. While my heart is strong and I am physically active for my age I do take medication for A-fib. I will never take the gene therapy shots as they really can kill me.

    3. Third world doctor in malarial area here: I’ve taken low dose chloroquine then hydroxychloroquine every summer from infancy as prophylaxis and treated tens of thousands of patients on high doses. The only fatalities were far gone with cerebral malaria on presentation, still managed to save most of them. The fake articles fast tracked into eminent journals and later retracted because of obvious data fraud or twelve times therapeutic dose prove to me that something very malign has been countering early, effective and cheap treatment of Wuflu.

    4. John – yes, fully agreed. Whoever it was with the veteran’s administration in the US that ignored HCQ dosing instructions and patients who should never, ever take HCQ (as learned from over 50 years of using it against malaria) should be facing either murder or manslaughter charges for their “trial”. The dosage and recipients appeared to be designed to kill the patients in order to kill the potential treatment.

  7. Hi Doug, his protocol warns against hydrochlorquine in favour of ivermectin for folks with heart issues. In general his routine involves lots of vitamin d etc as preventative then a lot of stuff you get once you actually are in hospital.
I like the approach and I am actually kind of on it now I am out of the hospital but still having ….issues shall we say.
Aspirin for blood thinning ( for the blood clots in the lungs) and advil for inflammation (instead of steroids). I do the high dose vitamin d, etc. I should have started the vitamins earlier but didn’t get around to it. I think everybody who gets covid might want to do the things on the protocol they can get access to over the counter, but be a little careful because even vitamins at the concentrations required can lead to complications.
So long story short: I did not mean to throw shade on hydroxychlorquine, or vitamins d etc. I just am not to the point where I believe in any and all the ” treatments” being touted on the net these days, even if I would like to

    1. Good morning John s, thanks for the reply.
There are lots of protocols out there by highly respected doctors throughout the world, some of these doctors have testified and shared there treatment protocols in the US Senate but to know avail, something strange is going on here.
I am glad you are feeling better and I hope your return to good health is a fast one.

      Stay safe!!

  8. Left a message for my personal physician to call me today. Receptionist wanted to know what I wanted to discuss, and I told her I wanted a prescription for ivermectin. “We’re not prescribing that.”

So, its off to the internet…

    1. Good luck. Go with a local veterinary source if you can. If you try getting it sent from out of country you run a high risk that it will get seized and destroyed by Customs.

      1. I’d only take it if it say’s “horse de-wormer” and comes from a Mexican veterinarian just to show them whose boss! But that’s just me.
