As I remarked a couple of weeks ago, I thought I had done writing about COVID. Surely, I thought, the hysteria is on the wane. Most people are rational. They know that the flimsy porous masks you see everywhere are useless tokens of conformity. They understand that the disease is serious for only a tiny part of the population. They also know staying home and practicing “social distancing” has its own liabilities, not least of which is a diminution in the potency of one’s immune response.

Unfortunately, the people making the rules are not “most people.” They are bureaucrats being advised by public health “experts” like Anthony Fauci who has demonstrated ostentatious incompetence at least since the AIDS crisis of the 1980s. When news of the so-called Omicron variant first surfaced a few weeks back, I assumed the fact that doctors first described it as very contagious but also with symptoms that were “very mild,” meant the “experts” would let us get on with our lives.

Fat chance.

    1. Yes, they’re jabbing children who are at no risk from Covid. Safety and effectiveness of the vaccine in this population is based on the results (I read somewhere) of a 30 day study performed in Israel. I’m not at all clear on how one evaluates the effectiveness of a vaccine in preventing the contraction of a disease which the subject population does not contract. It’s all very mystical and sciencey, I’m sure.
      This speaks volumes about the influence of the pharmaceutical industry on government.

  2. What really gets me. Back in 1976 we had a flu out break and here comes the shots. But as we see today, just like back then. Some got sick.
    But just maybe then had more common sense in 1976. Because they stopped giving the shots and the flu just went away.

    Now it’s shots and more shots.

  3. Oh, I’m in no hurry to move on from Wuhan flu. Neither should you be. Not while nobody responsible for inflicting a genetically engineered plague on the world has been held accountable.

      That’s the problem I had with the article. Surely omicron and its potential to actually wind down this virus should be worth writing about?

    No they’re not. It isn’t a pandemic as much as it’s an IQ test and we failed miserably. If skepticism is the chastity of intellect I’d say that overall the general population of Canada are nymphomaniacs.
    Bureaucrats can make all the stupid rules they want, the trick is to get people to follow them which we did without blinking an eye. Get a health bureaucrat to have a whiskey or two with ya and I’d bet they’d admit how surprisingly easy it all is.
    As a Boomer I thought it’d be my generation who’d be leading the charge against this idiocy and in some respects that’s true but I’ve seen waaaaaaaaay too many of them fold like cheap suits. A sad commentary if ever there was one.
    I’m sensing some pushback now, hoping it keeps up but I ain’t holding my breath.

      1. Heard a good one today, supplied by an SDA contributor. Virus 101. Variants are almost exactly like the virus they’re derived from.
        The delta variant has .3% dissimilarity to covid-19 and in no way can that get it around immunity, better described as “samients.”
        It is immunity that goes away, in the case of vaccines, with natural immunity offering reasonably durable protection.
        But the government conflates cases and transmissibility with infectibility, ignoring the paucity of Omicron serious illness and death.
        While ignoring the obvious fact vaccines protect against variants which don’t “get around immunity,” and are self-protective only.
        At horrendous cost to society and the benefit of lockdowns and masks is dwarfed by societal and economic costs.
        How is the tourism industry doing these days? How about restaurants and theatres? How many bureaucrats have lost their jobs?
        People who are insulated from the effects of their decisions should not be trusted with powers over business, life and death.

        If government is so sure we must mask and lockdown with every new scariant, in perpetuity, let them be called on their hypocrisy, and better still, any politicians who promote such ineffective nonsense, while failing, again and again, to assure protection of vulnerables, all need to go off pay, and zoom with their fellow apparatchiks at no charge or bother to the citizenry.

    3. I think it is more of a character test than an IQ test. It tests your ability to:

      1. Hold true to your principles and ethics even under immense pressure. Bodily autonomy, medical ethics, human rights, civil rights, etc.

      2. Keep your humanity despite segregation, discrimination and threats.

      At the end of this I think we will discover that the “greater good” wasn’t allowing authoritarian governments to force people to take vaccines or any medical procedure under duress. The greater good is always and will always be maintaining human rights and civil rights.

I completely concur, several times the government abuse and hatred of my unvaccinated self caused me to waiver then I look at the damage the vaccines did to my husband’s hands, feet and face via micro-clots. The government and our healtcare system has abandoned those that are suffering from vaccine side effects. The media, politicians, medical cartel’s day of turning a blind eye will come to an end.

        1. Sorry to hear about your husband. These vaccines aren’t at all what people were promised. I feel for those who trusted politicians, public health and experts. In one way or another, vaccinated or unvaccinated, we have all been betrayed by governments and the medical establishment. Anger should be focused on those who have misled the vaccinated and abused the unvaccinated.

      2. Keep in mind that none of these human rights are relevant if we don’t have the right to survive.

        This right is never respected by the globalists short of a credible threat to annihilate them if they don’t. That’s what the Jews had to do.

        We can have a sensible conversation about the finer points of individual rights once China is a cobalt-salted wasteland, the globalist propagandists have been shut up for good, and the rest of us can get a word in edgewise.

        For now, the world is under the command of people who hate us and want us exterminated. Can we focus on one bloody thing at a time?

        1. I don’t think those goals are mutually exclusive. Abuse of power by politicians has led to gross violations of human and civil rights. The abuse of power and violation of rights is escalating. Politicians, bureaucrats, business leaders and others need to be brought to justice. I’m hoping the quarantine camps that governments have built will be repurposed to confine politicians, bureaucrats and all other defendants who will be on trial for vaccine homicide, human rights violations, civil rights violations, accepting bribes, conspiracy, racketeering, etc.

          And “I was just following orders” isn’t going to be a valid defense this time either.

    4. I dispute you there. I know of no sane person who does not at least want to be rational. Personal manias and intentional indulgences in the fantastic aside ( we all have them) people will use logic and reason if they have the facts and if they need to.
      What people tend to do is rely on others. Esp experts to be rational for them. At its worst, they rely on experts to tell them what they want to hear, and that what they want to hear makes sense. Hmm. Seemed to circle around into agreement with you there in the end…

      1. There is ample evidence of media and industry-proclaimed “experts” whose “scientific” positions fly directly in the face of the facts. Michael Mann, for example, is regularly trotted out by media as a “climate expert;” when in fact his claims are in complete opposition to scientifically observed and recorded reality.

        Relying on experts, without examining the data for onesself, is no guarantee of landing on rational beliefs.

    Experts at what exactly? Remember the phrase “that which doesn’t kill me strengthens me?” We have vaccines which do not kill the virus. They are not 100% effective right out of the gate. Then their efficacy wanes quickly. The vaccines are, in effect, sparring partners for the virus. The virus battles the vaccine, survives, then “builds back better.” Every variant is going to get smarter and tougher as time goes by. It is a huge irony that vaccines that are not 100% effective actually are the enablers of ever more virulent viruses. A huge mistake was made in waiving liability for Big Pharma so that they could bring their unapproved vaccines to market quickly. Because of the liability waivers, some unscrupulous pharma companies are ready to put an untested omicron virus vaccine on the market in as little as two weeks! We are on a treadmill with this madness and we won’t be able to get off until we resist. We need to stare down Big Pharma and the “experts.”

  8. The thing is the great educated one will be telling the welder how to weld and the store clerk how to do their job. It would never occur to them some people actually have capabilities far beyond their own . The people hear aren’t pretending to be doctors or virology experts. They are reading and studying the work of people with far higher qualifications than the people who exercising their position of power. These authorities will never be held accountable for errors they have made. Typically they are parasites on the governments dole, much as I expect jd is. Fun fact jd you have not yet explained why vaccines that are “safe and effective ” require protection from liability until nearly everyone using them is dead.

  9. They should isolate omicron and give it as a live vaccine to everyone that wants it. But that would make too much sense. Give the virus straight. Don’t even cripple it. Then the BS pandemic would end like they all end, when they run out of hosts.

      At this point, I’m not sure there is such a thing as a public health expert. I think there are scientists, and there are bureaucrats; and it’s very clear which of the two are in charge.

      I’m just headed out to pick up three copies of Dr. Samson’s new book, “A Plague Upon Our House,” which was released on the 7th. In his radio and television interviews leading up to the book release, he stated that he gathered 20 or so of the leading virologists and epidemiologists in North America at the White House, to meet and discuss how to address the pandemic. Dr. Birx, who was supposedly leading the charge in US government, refused to attend the meeting. So the leaders of the effort to address Covid were/are politically leaning bureaucrats. Not scientists. And when the scientists gather, the bureaucrats refuse to attend. Unbelievable.
