In retrospect I’m starting to suspect that China and Iran, who have profound conflicts and good reasons not to address them any earlier than unavoidably necessary, decided in the 90’s to try to co-operate in global diplomacy, where they also have common interests, and set up some form of joint committee to determine a common policy to mutual advantage. Both countries had extensive influence operations in the West, and by co-ordinating them, they achieved effective control over the Liberal party under Chretien, and dominating influence over the US Democrats under Obama. It looks to me like the Chinese decided to seize power in the USA, and guaranteed Iran enough to ensure their willing support. In any event, Biden is basically being handled by a Chinese-Iranian committee.
