Wuhan Flu

Your government is here to hide from you: The Treasury Board yesterday invoked employee safety in withholding pandemic records including details of sole-sourced contracts.

Signs that China has another Wuhan? “Leaked documents show the number of virus patients there may be 200 times the official data…”

Germany: Zoo May Feed Animals to Animals as Funds Dry Up in Pandemic

Something lighter…

  1. “Zoo may feed animals to animals as funds dry up in Pandemic”

Will that include people who act like animals? Just asking for a friend…

Human sacrifice on the altar to a pantheist goddess “Mother Gaia” is a common meme in the post-Christian polity.

  2. The billion dollar loss to Calgary not having the Stampede this year ought to be billed to China! Thanks C-H-I-NA!

    1. This is a positive not a negative. A year off The Stampede is desperately needed. It just turns downtown into hell for several days. Awful.

      1. Flick you UnMe. Obviously, you do not care about my heritage. I will never read anything from you ever again, as you are so unlike me. Please never go to the Stampede ever,

      2. You probably haven’t been downtown Calgary in a while. The “good times” and craziness left a decade ago.

It started with liability fear over drunk employees going for a spin and taking out a short bus, a couple of economic downturns, a zillion layoffs and a generation that won’t play dress up (except tattoos and sh1tty beards).

Cowboys moving to Stampede and fewer spots for feculent beer tents added to the whole lack of July energy downtown.

Stampede downtown is just another day, except perhaps a few more tender feet.

  3. Kate: you have to stop uploading auto play videos. Very annoying. I am still hearing the video about the lockdown protests in the states. Have to continually shut it down, then it comes up again.

    1. Which video is autoplaying? It isn’t happening here.

Updated — I found autoplay in the code of Robert’s video, and removed it. Please let me know if that solved the problem.

  4. From the factually challenged NYT: “The Neumünster zoo’s plan was revealed as Germany’s strategy for stemming the outbreak has drawn global attention. Despite having more than 130,000 coronavirus cases, Germany has a low fatality rate. Unlike the United States and other European countries scrambling to find hospital space and personal protective equipment for medical staff on the front lines, it also has a relatively high number of available intensive care beds and ventilators.”

WTAF? The United States is not scrambling to find hospital space, ventilators and ICU beds. Even the NYFC area, which had had half the US Deaths from the Chinese Coronavirus never ran out of beds or ventilators. The hospital beds onboard the USN Comfort and set up in the Javits Center were barely used. I would not be surprised if the US isn’t shipping US Made Ventilators to Germany, like they already have to the UK. Too bad their very own NYC newspaper cannot even print the actual facts about NYC and the US?

  5. “I’m sure there’s a pride parade you can march in somewhere”

What a moronic thing to say. We are all stupider for having heard that remark. How is that even supposed to be clever or funny?

    1. It’s funny because AIDS is a pandemic whose prevention would have been child’s play if governments had been willing to treat perverts like the vector of disease they were (by catching them and forcibly castrating them, curing them of their urge to spread AIDS).

Because the right of perverts to engage in unnatural acts was considered sacred (by people who feared exposure as perverts in an age when being a pervert was a career-ending offense), and the right of normal people to expect that their blood supply would not be contaminated was not, eradicating AIDS is now impossible.

      Questions? Comments? Insults?

    2. “How is that even supposed to be clever or funny?”

See my earlier reply to you about explaining obvious to a moron.

    3. Pride is a summer thing. August / Septemberish.

Stampede had been murdered but I suspect that they won’t dare attack the rainbow (the not skittles kind).

So yeah, the could well be a pride parade for him to march in. It might actually be a factual statement about our ‘excellence’ the mayor marching in a pride parade.

And it was a little funny, still is, despite the timing being off.

    4. You’re the one who comments on naked high school kids, it’s not surprising you conveniently “don’t get it”, pervert!

Pink Floyd meant – “Hey UnMe leave those kids alone”

  6. Its a good we have parliament to keep an eye on Great Leader. Oh wait he got rid of that.

    1. The whole country is a zoo. It’s been that way since the Turks arrived. And that’s from personal experience before the wall came down. Their beer was better than ours, though. Take that Labatts and Molson. Bilge Water R Us.

  7. One day, when you are old and grey, two things will happen: (1) your grandchildren will watch this clip (youtu.be/BalDN6iGYpE), which—bless the internet—will live on forever, and (2) they will come to you and ask, “Grandma/Granddad, were you really a supporter of President Trump?”, and you’re going to have to decide, right there, whether or not to lie right to your grandkids’ faces.

    #MAGA.

    1. No. I’ll say I was, because kids you need to understand that the option, Hillary, was are a psychopath and an evil, despicable human. I will also tell them she is rotting in hell.

    2. Now that was almost as funny as Nancy Pelosi finding religion.
1; Deplorable’s,AKA Trump voters will have grandchildren.
2; Demon Rats banished GOD from their last convention.
So what alternative might the holly rollers have?
Always amusing when those suffering TDS suddenly find religion..What will be next? Sunrise?

  8. Kate: This is the problematic auto play video posted earlier by yourself:

Glenn Reynolds on Fox this morning.

  9. United States 2017 Influenza and Pneumonia deaths – 55672
    Source – https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr68/nvsr68_09-508.pdf pg 6 table B
United States 2017 Influenza Type A and Type B positive test cases – 158362 from 1165923 tested (13.58% positive test rate)
    Sources – https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/weeklyarchives2017-2018/data/whoAllregt_cl39.html
    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/weeklyarchives2016-2017/data/whoAllregt_cl39.html

I had to download and break the 2016 – 2017 season and the 2017 – 2018 season data up to get just 2017 weekly numbers.

The calculated Case Fatality Rate of the flu for 2017 was 35.15%. What the Infection Fatality Rate was is anyone’s guess. The CDC generates a range for influenza cases based on a model and know case data.

WuFlu is not the flu. The effects are worse, it may, or may not, spread worse, the experts seem pretty certain that it kills better than just plain old flu, but if we kept score for the Flu like we are keeping score for WuFlu people would freak out. Every year.

  10. There is a fair bit of work on multiple roads of epidemics, none particularly bad by themselves but cumulatively hitting a population several times, being a cause of extinction. I don’t think the Chicom released SARS1 on purpose. I do think the Chicom discovered after SARS1 that the virus was too fatal and therefore too easy to trace and eradicate. SARS2 has done a very good job of crippling the economy because it is not too fatal, and is hard to catch due to asymptomatic spread. Did they release SARS2 on purpose or was it an accident? There’s a little too much coincidence with first cornering then world wide manufacturing of PPE then sweeping up of all pandemic PPE supplies while lying about the virus. Deliberate of not, I have no doubt they have taken note of the result. I predict there will be a SARS3, SARS4, each spaced for right after the west lets its vigilance down. I now think the reason the lab is next to the Wuhan market is to give them plausible deniability if something did get loose.
